Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1 – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 36GW1 is live! What better way to kick off the season than with a lunch time match up with 4th place implications written all over it. United will look to secure an early 3 point advantage over perennial Europa League participators, but non-contenders to win, Spurs. At 3pm we have 4 games on the menu. Recently promoted Bournemouth carry the hopes and dreams of many FPL investors as they take on Sherwood and the Benteke-less eleven. In another game that features a recently promoted side, Watford travel to Goodison Park where Everton will be playing for the only 3 points they stand a chance of winning until Christmas. In an early relegation battle we see the Foxes welcome the Black Kitties from Sunderland. If that wasn’t enough of a preview of the probable bottom of the table this season in the 3pm games, we add the also promoted Canaries to the fray, who play host to the Liverpool dream killers, Crystal Palace. In the last game of the day, Chelsea will look to continue taking the manhood away from Swansea as they look to humiliate the Swans with another pasting similar to those of last season.

On Sunday we have three fixtures. Arsenal will look to impress and have all Gooners excited and proclaiming them Champions after week one. Saints (the Liverpool B team) will travel to Newcastle and hope to make their mother club proud, with an away win. Speaking of mother, Liverpool will travel to Stoke where they look to exorcise their demons and by that I mean the memory of Glen Johnson.

The game-week finishes off with the Baggies looking to stop the vaunted City attack with a taller, wider custom made bus. Can’t wait to see the twitterverse explode about Sterling and proclaim the investment on him a complete failure or success based on one half.

Don’t forget to also share any experiences if you are participating in any or several of the fanteam.com leagues. Remember scores update in real time, so don’t be shy and let us know how much you are in line to win.

Ime pretty happy with my score so far.

I decided bench boost would be best used gameweek 1. I wasnt sure how teams would line up and i didnt want to be without players. Plus, my bench throughout the year ends up with a lot of injurys on it so i thought week 1 would be best.

      NIN says:

Bench Boost is likely to be the most powerful chip of the three. Sorry Ant, but i reckon you’ve wasted it on GW1 with what seems like a light bench.

      • Ant0800 says:

I disagree. I think the longer you keep bench boost the less effective it will be. Mid season is when teams really starts hurting. Your bench will be full of injurys and red marks. I think timing triple captain will be the most powerfull, the other 2 are pretty Meh.

        • Wafflez says:

was thinking the same Ant, but i decided to wait until i was sure to have a bench that gets gametime

        • Ant

          Time will tell.

What I do know is that if my bench boost only brought me in 4 extra points I’d be disappointed.

        • NIN says:

GW1 isn’t even over yet so how can you predict how anyone’s bench will look in 3 months time, and who’s to say it will be used “mid-season”? The best way to use that chip is to play a WC (which we can now do as the Jan WC is done away with) the week before a DGW and stock up on 15 DGW players, then play the BB for the DGW and have 15 players playing twice. How is that less profitable than playing it in GW1 with a GK who was 50/50 to start, a WHU defender away at Arsenal and a couple of budget options? It’s by far the most powerful chip, if used correctly.

But you’ll gain team value throughout the season and will also know which cheap players are the best points scorers. Although this chip and the All out attack one are certainly better suited to teams with rotating 5th mids.

I do agree that the triple captain is the most useful one though.

        • McButcher says:

Have to agree with NIN on this one. And actually love that idea with the DGW and WC

12 points with 6 to go. Not liking the start I’ve made, but its early days.

What are everyone’s thoughts regarding Courtois? I had him in with Hennessey and immediately thought I’d have to use my FT to swap him out as McCarthy got the nod, but if he’s only out for 1 GW then maybe just play with 10?

I was thinking about playing an early WC after GW3 to bring in Kun etc. and if this is the case then I may as well swap Courtois as the FTs wont keep when using the WC. Right?

Very interesting start to the FPL.

What are everyone’s views on the matter?
