Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1 – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 36GW1 is live! What better way to kick off the season than with a lunch time match up with 4th place implications written all over it. United will look to secure an early 3 point advantage over perennial Europa League participators, but non-contenders to win, Spurs. At 3pm we have 4 games on the menu. Recently promoted Bournemouth carry the hopes and dreams of many FPL investors as they take on Sherwood and the Benteke-less eleven. In another game that features a recently promoted side, Watford travel to Goodison Park where Everton will be playing for the only 3 points they stand a chance of winning until Christmas. In an early relegation battle we see the Foxes welcome the Black Kitties from Sunderland. If that wasn’t enough of a preview of the probable bottom of the table this season in the 3pm games, we add the also promoted Canaries to the fray, who play host to the Liverpool dream killers, Crystal Palace. In the last game of the day, Chelsea will look to continue taking the manhood away from Swansea as they look to humiliate the Swans with another pasting similar to those of last season.

On Sunday we have three fixtures. Arsenal will look to impress and have all Gooners excited and proclaiming them Champions after week one. Saints (the Liverpool B team) will travel to Newcastle and hope to make their mother club proud, with an away win. Speaking of mother, Liverpool will travel to Stoke where they look to exorcise their demons and by that I mean the memory of Glen Johnson.

The game-week finishes off with the Baggies looking to stop the vaunted City attack with a taller, wider custom made bus. Can’t wait to see the twitterverse explode about Sterling and proclaim the investment on him a complete failure or success based on one half.

Don’t forget to also share any experiences if you are participating in any or several of the fanteam.com leagues. Remember scores update in real time, so don’t be shy and let us know how much you are in line to win.

I had him this week and it paid of, but ime not quite sure he will start every week. Hes only 17 so i cant see Rodgers putting so much preasure on him at such a young age. Plus they also have Mereno so its a gamble.

      • Andy says:

Yeah could be another Kolarov/Clichy type situation incoming though barring the odd error yesterday Gomez played well.

        • Silverback says:

Hey Andy how did you go 25 points for me crap who would you drop Sterling , Haz , Mane , Ozil got Pelle up front no cover for others

        • Andy says:

I’d stick with all of them for what it’s worth, if I had to shift one it might be away from double Saints just to have the coverage more spread, it’s always tough early doors gauging form, the scorings been all over the place in GW 1, I’m also on 25 but I think that’s been decent with a (c) to go.

Any one else feel that the GW ‘AVERAGE’ this season is always going to be unrepresentatively high? We all know that there are people making new teams every week in that hope of claiming the no.1 weekly ranking. That’s always been the case. But now they’ll also be using one of their chips. One cursory look at the top team this week shows they used the Bench Boost. The average score really is pretty much redundant as a guide now IMO.

      jamesimmo says:

Yep I’d agree Bry. That’s the one thing that annoys me about the Chips: they are included in calculating the top (and average) score.

So, realistically, you only have 3 gameweeks per season where you have the chance to be the top scorer… as each gameweek many teams will use a Chip and steal the limelight.

      I do now 😉

It’s not really how I play fantasy games so it’s not something I’ve ever gave much thought to, the games getting ever more popular so I wouldn’t be surprised if it it broke the 4m players mark this year, how many of them are alts is not a guess I’d like to make. I’ve always enjoyed playing with the one team as it makes your decisions seem that little more important, bringing in a guy who bangs in 2 are just magic moments (Red cards not so much) although I can see the attraction of 2 teams as it’s a long season when you’re not doing well.

I’m quite happy with a higher benchmark to aim for.
