Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1 – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16
GW1 is live! What better way to kick off the season than with a lunch time match up with 4th place implications written all over it. United will look to secure an early 3 point advantage over perennial Europa League participators, but non-contenders to win, Spurs. At 3pm we have 4 games on the menu. Recently promoted Bournemouth carry the hopes and dreams of many FPL investors as they take on Sherwood and the Benteke-less eleven. In another game that features a recently promoted side, Watford travel to Goodison Park where Everton will be playing for the only 3 points they stand a chance of winning until Christmas. In an early relegation battle we see the Foxes welcome the Black Kitties from Sunderland. If that wasn’t enough of a preview of the probable bottom of the table this season in the 3pm games, we add the also promoted Canaries to the fray, who play host to the Liverpool dream killers, Crystal Palace. In the last game of the day, Chelsea will look to continue taking the manhood away from Swansea as they look to humiliate the Swans with another pasting similar to those of last season.
On Sunday we have three fixtures. Arsenal will look to impress and have all Gooners excited and proclaiming them Champions after week one. Saints (the Liverpool B team) will travel to Newcastle and hope to make their mother club proud, with an away win. Speaking of mother, Liverpool will travel to Stoke where they look to exorcise their demons and by that I mean the memory of Glen Johnson.
The game-week finishes off with the Baggies looking to stop the vaunted City attack with a taller, wider custom made bus. Can’t wait to see the twitterverse explode about Sterling and proclaim the investment on him a complete failure or success based on one half.
Don’t forget to also share any experiences if you are participating in any or several of the fanteam.com leagues. Remember scores update in real time, so don’t be shy and let us know how much you are in line to win.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for GW1 from all at FF247!
Only just noticed Montero of Swansea only got 2 points!! He was amazing on Saturday made Ivan look amateur. Could be worth a punt if he keeps it up in my opinion.
He also caused Chambers havok at the Liberty last season if I remember. You could argue that’s not hard to do… but he’s a class player. Whether he can convert his skill into points is another matter. Definitely one to watch!
Very true but didn’t he get injured a good bit last year so sadly didn’t kick on but hopefully he will this season. Might actually have to use that watch list thing on FPL site.
Also am I crazy to be considering Walcott as captain again next week?? Just don’t see Tekkers or Milner as good cap choices yet even if it is against Bournemouth.
Not crazy, I think Giroud will be replaced and Wally will be a starter. Wenger is shit crazy for not starting Wally in their last game. Wally and Giroud together really didn’t seem to work. First not enough players in the box and the moment Wally got in and they went all out on attack there were like 5 Arsenal players in the box (but also 8 WHU), haha. Wenger is a maestro at failing in my humble opinion, the players he has had and the results. Terrible.
Ye Wally really should have played instead of Giroud. He was terrible in my opinion. Can’t really see anyone else in my team worth captaining at this point.
Wow, just got very good news concerning my mothers. Puts a bad fpl GW in perspective people. :p
Great stuff Raz, very pleased to hear that.
Same here, had a big panic attack this morning (unsure if you call it that, I broke out in sweat, my entire body when she was getting the result, haven’t had anything this extreme ever, apart from when I ran a few hundred miles :p ). Obviously influenced more to me than I initially thought. And I’ve been through a lot of shit myself, somehow, when it concerns someone you really love it’s even harder. It’s weird, how humans cope under different circumstances.
That Great to hear Raz. Really happy for you. I myself have just found out a school mate of mine just died so ye really puts life in perspective.
Exactly Raz – hope you’re not as sweaty now – not like the French that use my lift. Fckers. How can they not smell themselves??
Sorry to hear that Matt – makes FPL seem very unimportant doesn’t it? Hope you’re ok mate.
Indeed, it does. Sorry to hear that mate. It’s an odd world, that’s what it is. Sometimes unfair stuff happens to good people you know. Seems a lot of close friends are having troubles with their kids/baby’s. Which is hellish, I can’t cope how something like that must feel. I’m kind of soft, that’s why I don’t see me having children, I would never sleep another night again. HAHAHA! NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >.<
Though, if the circumstances are right and there is a lady that can convince me, I'll donate. :p Bwahahahahar. No seriously, I want to be 100 percent sure I can be the best. People always tell me I would make a great father since I care so much, but there is also something like too much caring. If it's a girl I think I would annihilate the entire male species from the planet. Something that would make winning the FPL a bit easier.
@ Cookie
FPL is a good distraction, so that can be important. Finding stuff that distracts, quite hard for some people.
Indeed Raziel.
Cheers Cook and Raz. I’m good just feel for his family you know.
But like you said Raz FPL is a good distraction 😛
Yeah, so something as unimportant as FPL can be important in that sense. 😉
Though, don’t take too much of it, it’s like any drugs. It’s a bad addiction, or it can be. :p
Hahah very very true mate 😛
Sorry guys, newbie here testing to see if my gravatar works … pretty much shows how I’m feeling after GW1 …
Whut? A beautiful dog?
You’re feeling beautiful?
Haha welcome onboard Tezzak – forgive Raz, he’s the site monkey!!
Relax about GW1 – it was a strange gameweek, keep to your plans and it will all right itself soon enough.
Forgive Cookie, I’m more than that. 😉
This is on a whole new level of scary. If I threw a stick for it I’d hope it wouldn’t come back.
Haha
Im trying not to use my FT for this week… dont want to make any knee jerk reactions. Courtios will be forgiven and I am sure will still be the top scoring keeper this season… so without any transfers heres how I look for GW2… thoughts people?
Hi improvox. Would consider dropping one of your WHU defenders – I’m torn between playing Jenkinson or none at all!
Mahrez and co. played very attacking, exciting football so two seems too risky, especially when Ritchie could sneak one against Pool who didn’t look great at the back in fairness.
Thanks AT.
I didnt really know what to do with them to be honest… not sure whether Leicester were flattered vs Sunderland or not. I just cant see Richie or Sinclair scoring many points vs Man Utd… bit of a tricky one.
That’s my main concern too which is probably why I will end up playing Jenkinson myself. I just think fielding two defenders against any team who just scored 4 the week before is risky!
When you put it like that…
I will have a think – most likely change if any will be to move Oxford to the bench and bring in Sinclair…
Guys was thinking of bringing in Ageuro in GW4 (don’t think I’ll need him against Everton) so that would mean I could do a transfer this week and then save next weeks and still have 2 FTs in GW4. What do you think or should I just leave the team as is for next week?
Depends what your transfer plan is, Matt haha.
To me, that team looks strong enough for the week ahead to bank it.
Ye that’s what im thinking too because when I look at the team I can’t see much wrong with it.
I’d bank the transfer, cos you never know what will happen in gw2.
For example, Gomez and Cedric are still rotation risks, whereas Huth, Defoe and even Benteke could be begging to be sold by then.
I’ not tryingto jinx your team here, just wondering what COULD go wrong.
Very true mate. I think Gomez could be pretty secure now but Cedric god knows Koeman could be a bit wary over him getting sent off. Huth,Defoe and Benteke are still up in the air but I think Defoe could be alright if he’s scoring a goal or an assist every game.
I agree that Cedric and Gomez are looking like good bets so far.
My team also has Defoe and Huth, because fixture-wise SUN and LEI are very attractive up to gw10 or so.
My worry with Defoe is that he may be too slow (=old) to play upfront by himself. If he ends upout wide in support if Fletcher, his points will dry up.
Huth is different. I really rate him, but Leicester seem to have wedded themselves to the all-out-attack approach that saved their season last time. Which renders clean sheets much harder.
Gw2 will give us more info on both, I hope.
If Defoe ends up outside then ill be shipping him out for certain.
Ye bit unsure about Huth if Richards continues to perform then ill make that switch.
Is Aguero likely to start tonight?
Really hoping he isn’t!
I really hope he does. Not that many people have him. I reckon it’s 50/50.
Results went Man City’s way at the weekend with neither Arsenal or Chelsea winning so I reckon it’s highly unlikely that he’ll start, depending on game flow we might not see him at all.
That’s a good point, Andy. Fingers crossed 😉
I don’t think he’ll start. I see him coming on for a run about for the last 20 mins or so.
+1
i hope Kun plays and Sterling fails ….
Even if i have Sterling and no Aguero
