Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1 – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 36GW1 is live! What better way to kick off the season than with a lunch time match up with 4th place implications written all over it. United will look to secure an early 3 point advantage over perennial Europa League participators, but non-contenders to win, Spurs. At 3pm we have 4 games on the menu. Recently promoted Bournemouth carry the hopes and dreams of many FPL investors as they take on Sherwood and the Benteke-less eleven. In another game that features a recently promoted side, Watford travel to Goodison Park where Everton will be playing for the only 3 points they stand a chance of winning until Christmas. In an early relegation battle we see the Foxes welcome the Black Kitties from Sunderland. If that wasn’t enough of a preview of the probable bottom of the table this season in the 3pm games, we add the also promoted Canaries to the fray, who play host to the Liverpool dream killers, Crystal Palace. In the last game of the day, Chelsea will look to continue taking the manhood away from Swansea as they look to humiliate the Swans with another pasting similar to those of last season.

On Sunday we have three fixtures. Arsenal will look to impress and have all Gooners excited and proclaiming them Champions after week one. Saints (the Liverpool B team) will travel to Newcastle and hope to make their mother club proud, with an away win. Speaking of mother, Liverpool will travel to Stoke where they look to exorcise their demons and by that I mean the memory of Glen Johnson.

The game-week finishes off with the Baggies looking to stop the vaunted City attack with a taller, wider custom made bus. Can’t wait to see the twitterverse explode about Sterling and proclaim the investment on him a complete failure or success based on one half.

Don’t forget to also share any experiences if you are participating in any or several of the fanteam.com leagues. Remember scores update in real time, so don’t be shy and let us know how much you are in line to win.

Not an inspiring start to my first ever FPL season lads and ladies, scored 27 with Silva to come tonight.

I started with Ki Sung-yeung as my cheap midfield option, looks in trouble with a hamstring injury. Williams from Swansea also looked so average in their game (looks a bit overweight imo!), so am looking to downgrade him to a £4.5 defender to then upgrade Ki to a £6.5 mid next week, thinking Cabaye at this stage. Should have left him in my initial fantasy squad!

Who do you guys think looked good in defence at £4.5? I liked Richards, Gomez looks a bargain, are Delaney and Oxford genuine options?

What’s all the hate towards Ozil? Yeah he was fairly quiet but he almost got a couple of assists especially with Samchez towards the end.

GW1 anguish is all, myself included! Let it settle he’s surely worth 2 more weeks if we’ve started with him right?… Right?

People just jumping on him because of his price tag. It was an overall terrible performance by every Arsenal player out there but Ozil was far from the worst.

What are Walcott owners doing? Sticking with? Im going to have to but I remember last year Wenger gave him very sporadic game time. I think he’ll start against Palace though.

    Hi all!

Thoughts on Adrian in for Courtois?

Bad week like the rest of you.. Gomez stood for 40% of my total points this week!

      MattX says:

Could be good as WHU have some nice fixtures coming up but Courtois is only gone for 1 game.

I had Gomez but sadly 2nd on my bench with Huth(1 point) coming on instead!!! Absolutely raged!!

      • RITZ says:

Ahh Matt – thats unlucky! You still got 2 more points than me though.. Can’t complain 😉

        • MattX says:

Ye I’m okay with my team like I have the sense to know its only GW1 and there’s still 37 more to go unlike some people I’ve spoken to. Just gutted over 11 or 12 points sitting on my bench smile have you anyone left to play tonight?

        • RITZ says:

Thats understandable! This time last season I was ranked in the top 10k and got off to a flyer.
Sunday evening I was pretty close to deleting my whole team 😛 haha – if I’m gonna spend this much time on this I better do well 😉
Got Sterling left, not sure what I’d like the most, him flopping or getting me a nice points haul.. The former I think laugh

        • MattX says:

Haha I’d say a few people came close to doing the same mate smile haha – same here I have him and can’t decide on what I want from him. Reality comes first though so I hope he sinks like a rock in the middle of the ocean :L

      AT says:

RITZ, tricky one. I’m torn between playing Mahrez or Jenkinson. Can’t decide whether Leicester will fly again or West Ham will hold the fortress. Being at home, I would probably favour the Hammers option although, with tough fixtures among the good ones, I would want a rotating GK with him ideally.

I guess there would be no harm in playing him and watching the save points rack up mind!

      • RITZ says:

Hi AT – Thats a tricky one.. Jenkinsen has a fairly good chance of 6 points. Mahrez has higher potential point tally, but ofc comes with additional risk. If it were me I would undoubtably play Mahrez 😉

Hi Ritz, it could be a good shout. 4 of their next 6 are at home against Leicester, Bournemouth, Newcastle and Norwich. They have trips in there to Liverpool and Man City to consider but overall that’s a decent run. Personally I’m buying Bilic and playing him in goal as that man can do no wrong laugh
