Curious case with Downing for those of you bringing him in. Despite all his points he only has 2 assists vs top 12 teams and no goals.
His point tallies vs teams in the top 12 are:
7,3,0,3,2,2,5,2 and 2. The 0 is a game in which he did not feature. 26 points total
His point tallies vs teams placed 13th or lower are:
9,10,6,13,2,8,8 and 10. For 66 points total.
3 of the next 4 are vs teams in the top 12 including his next two fixtures that are against Chelsea and Arsenal. Just some food for thought for any of those on the fence about bringing him in this week.

Interesting stats, thanks Mito. I have Downing and it’ll come down to starting either him next week or Austin who is away to Arsenal. I’ll probably have Downing as first sub and hope Austin can knick a goal.

Yep, those last minute goals are tough to swallow Gallant but them’s the breaks. TBH I wasn’t expecting much from him with all the keeper injuries, but I was daring to dream once we got the 89th minute!
