Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 20 – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16

Fantasy Football Live Match ChatGW20 is live! And we are off, The Hammers take on Liverpool in a lunch time kickoff. Not sure what to expect from this one, after West ham ruined their perfect run of 5 straight games with a draw when they mistakenly beat Southampton on Monday. Three o’clock brings us six juicy fixtures. Chumpions-to-be Arsenal take on pushovers Newcastle, Leicester try to continue the magic carpet ride with Mahrez at the helm when they tackle The Cherries. Man United will look to continue their run of boring going, when they tangle with a perfect dance partner in Swansea, Zzzz. Norwich face off against a peculiar Saints side. Southampton has one win in their last seven and naturally they mauled Arsenal for that one. West Brom will look to contain the all of sudden potent Stoke attack and in other action or lack thereof we see a clueless Sunderland take on the dumbfounded Villa. In the last fixture of the day, Watford and City tangle and what most will hope turns into a shootout. Personally, I beg of you Ighalo, STOP SCORING!!!

Sunday sees two fixtures. The tough Palace defence looks to keep another clean sheet versus Chelsea and free scoring Everton battle it out with third place Spurs and what will be a duel between Lukaku and Kane.

A truly horrific score of 29 has got me thinking… So this is my first time playing FPL so forgive me if thoughts sound idiotic … I totally get the idea behind holding your second WC till before a DGW and then playing your BB but… If the teams in that DGW are from the bigger teams ( in sure sine will be) then most people will surely have a few of these players already, if it’s teams that people don’t have many players from I.e Sunderland then do you really want to be stuck with these players in the game weeks thereafter? Do the benefits of holding this WC till say week 33 really outweigh using it before then if you can see say 8 players who would benefit your team NOW as opposed to spending 8 weeks slowly adding those players by which point in all likely hood there will be 8 more new ‘must haves’ ?

I think the general idea is not to use WC to rack up the DGW players, but to slowly accumulate DGW players as soon as it is announced, and when its over, use the WC to clean up and stabilize the squad.

I would say play your WC when you feel you need to.

For example, when you have 4/5 non playing players all of a sudden. Or if your team is going off the boil so much that there’s half your team you don’t want. Or if there are 3 or 4 players you want in but can’t afford without a complete reshuffle.

It might work at DGW but a DGW doesn’t guarantee it’s great fixtures and it also means a non playing GW at some point. If it’s before the double then fine, if it’s after then you have a problem.

If you plan well enough you should be able to build a decent DGW team.

Yes this was my concern, there seems to be a lot riding on these DGW being a big bonus for those of us savvy enough to hold our chips (and WC) but they could turn out to be a damp squib! I know it’s a gamble if you play these chips regardless and most def see the advantage of playing the TC and BB on a double as theoretically it doubles your chances of your players performing. But the more I think about it the benefits of also intergrating your WC into this equation whilst it could prove a stroke of genius it could just as easily prove less fortuitous than as you say using it when you feel it’s needed most!
I think I’ll sit on them all for the time being and I’m over thinking this due to my abysmal week and inability to out score the two people in my ML!
Slightly deviating I would like to say a big thank you to everyone on here as its been a constant source of entertainment and knowledge! Having never played FPL previously I have now become thoroughly consumed by it ( litterally spending countless hours every day mulling over form, fixtures and my inability to pick the right team!!) think I’ll go watch Sherlock on catch up and give myself a break.., until I analyze the price rise predictions and start debating premature transfers! Oh and I’m out of the cup … Which I’m going to see as a blessing as it gives me more time to focus on the league.. Just like my team Newcastle.. Ahem

If you play your wildcard the week before the last Dgw,fill your team with 16 dgw players, then the following week,on dgw, activate bench boost and every player plays both games and none get a yellow or red card then you will score a minimum score of 64 points that week.Throw in a few clean sheets, assists and goals plus dgw captain and just think of the possible score you could achieve !!

Massive change to bonus points in the Spurs game. Alli down to 1, Toby up to 3.

FYI this is my current squad with 2FTband .6 in the bank.. Thinking of making both transfers to try and catch up the top two in my ML!

    Tommy Tilt says:

Looking at the BPS it seems like Kane was barely there, fewer points than someone who played for three minutes! Thinking Wally to Payet and Kane to Kun with my 2FT, then bench Vardy for Alli until I get a chance to transfer in Ighalo. Sound like a plan?

      EBC says:

It probably means he missed a lot of chances. I know he hit the post anyway.

My plan is Vardy & Ramsey out, Kane (c) & Stanislas in.

So Payet in sounds good to me but Kane out doesn’t. I’m waiting a couple of weeks on Payet so I can afford to bring Kane in.
