Currently on a wildcard, appreciate all advice as always lads. Trying to make up ground, few differentials needed . Two teams I’m half interested in so far

    Hi guys
I’m going to play my WC.
What do you think about this team?

Hi Harry. Looks good overall. Couple of pointers for you though if I may –

Moreno. Liverpool have West Ham, Everton, Spurs, Southampton and City in their next 5. Not many clean sheets there, maybe the odd one but certainly better value elsewhere.

Downing. Brilliant returns so far and again today and is in form clearly. However – Liverpool, Man Utd, Southampton, Spurs and Chelsea in the next 5/6. Tough one given his form but those are hard fixtures overall and again possibly better value elsewhere with an easier run?

Oscar. Clearly ripping it up the last 2 weeks but would you bet on him beating Hazard from now until the end of the season? I wouldn’t.

Or I could swap Terry and Cazorla for Clichy and Oscar?

Hi Melon. For Downing see my above response to Harry.

I like the Caz pick and they have Villa and Leicester at home coming up.

I know everyone keeps going on about Southampton having a great fixture run and it may be true in the main but I’m not that convinced to the point that I’d double up on them at the back.

Morning/Evening Gents – lots of panic going on following the weekend’s matches. Justified to some extent by some of the scoring (including in my case where my WC team scored 27, and two of the players I let go (Cazorla, Costa) scored some 30 between them). But in my case I felt I couldn’t hold off Sanchez any longer, and he simply had to come in. Invariably, there are GWs where the big guns don’t fire. In some instances, we’ll get the misfortune of them all not firing in the same week. It’s not often that a squad (ie mine) which contains Terry, Bertrand, Clyne, Silva, Sanchez, Hazard, Silva, Kun, Pelle to name a few, only musters 27 ! However, I am satisfied that the squad is well set for the rest of the season, and in fact I anticipate a monster haul coming soon. Remember it’s a marathon, not a sprint; the principles applied in setting up our squads for the run into 2015 shouldn’t be lost on the back of one GW.

Hi Blue, not a great week for most WC teams as many will have had the key players included as you did and most failed to deliver. As you say though it’s for the long haul and they will pay off more often than not. Just not often they all don’t pay off at the same time. My concern would be for those that got rid of Costa with no way of getting him back anytime soon without some major restructuring.

      • I understand what you are saying, a quality team will over time deliver the points.

It is frustrating though, I have had Coutois in my team the last few weeks, and he doesn’t even show up! same with Cameron, has hardly missed a game this year, I brought him in this week and he has a rest when Stoke has a Clean sheet.
