Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 30 – Fantasy Premier League 2014/15

140304130146-michael-owen-bt-sport-horizontal-galleryGW30 is live! Ahhh, a lunch time game to get us going. Vinny welcomes in Gareth McAuley and the Baggies where he hopes to get some tips on how to defend properly from the Irishman. That is followed up by 5 games with a three o’clock start time. Swansea visit Villa and their all of a sudden high scoring side. Sherwood has managed to inspire and lead his men to goals in 3 of their last 4. Sounds like Manager of the Season material to me. The Newcastle French contingent watch their messiah Wenger come in to probably bless them with another defeat. Burnley will be feeling up for a go at Saints after beating City and restoring hope that they can yet crawl out of the bottom 3. In other action Spurs will be looking to rebound against Leicester after being the first team to be outsmarted by tactical genius LVG this season. Speaking of genius managers, Pardew takes his Palace side for a visit to the Britannia for a mostly fantasy irrelevant game. The Hammers look to get back on track against a reeling Sunderland squad, unfortunately for them the firing of Poyet could well mean that the Black Cats might come in prepared.

Sunday sees off the game-week with the last 3 fixtures. The lead game is a cracker of a game, as Liverpool welcome pugilist Wayne Rooney and his Manchester corner-men. After that bout ends we get the chance to witness CFC looking to skin a cat at KC Stadium. If they somehow can’t, I am sure Jose will blame the referee for handing them a dull knife or something. We close our GW with Charlie Austin continuing to try and impress current and future Premier League teams in 2015/2016 that his services can be used. Should be easy going for him as Everton are now due a streak of several losses if their record since November is any indication.

Don’t forget to also share any experiences if you are participating in any or several of the woofbet.com leagues. Remember scores update in real time, so keep up us up to date on how you are fairing.

74 point haul so far, looking good :hippo:

Yeah, well! 88 points for me so far, with Hazard and Terry to come. I’ve had Kane (c), Giroud go into double figures with only Aguero blanking, now I’m hoping for the ton. For those that want proof, I have posted a screenshot below 😉 Must say I’m pretty happy with that! laugh

Great week Nosaj! Those 2 should in theory bring the ton up for you. Well done!

      • Nosaj says:

Thanks innit. How how has your team gone to this point?

        • inittowinit says:

78 with Terry and Austin left so hoping Austin makes my inept Everton pay big time! Hoping Alcaraz plays as the guy ain’t got a clue. Oh, this is all sooo wrong! Go QPR! laugh

        • NIN says:

          :what: Oh dear oh dear.

        • Nosaj says:

Nice score and also …….. :cuckoo: ……. You’ve got to go for your own club hahahaha. Hope for QPR 2-3 Everton with Austin bagging a brace or something

        • inittowinit says:

Nah, lost it with Martinez finally I’m afraid. Said from day 1 he was the wrong choice. Nice man etc but massively flawed philosophy. Probably be great as Barca boss but we aren’t Barca. We are barely Wigan at this point. Saw the team on Thursday with Barry in and Besic benched (our best player this season by a mile vs an increasingly slow and suspect Barry) and knew what would happen. And it did. Add in the defeatist press conference the day before. Would Jose sit there saying ‘well whatever happens we’ve had fun and a good run’? Would he heck as like. Sorry!

        • Nosaj says:

I do agree, he was never the right manager for you guys. He can change it around still…… But I doubt it. You guys are way too good to 14th, 6 points of the relegation zone saying ‘well whatever happens we’ve had fun and a good run’. So yeah, I agree he definitely needs to leave.

On the plus side you’re good either way. You’ll either mostly likely get a QPR win with an Austin goal/assist, or you’ll get an Everton win.

Anyway good luck for the rest of the GW smile

      • NIN says:

Nice going yourself, mate. Well done

    TheFox says:

Fraser Forster reportedly out ‘for the season at least’ – anyone know if this’ll make it likely he’ll go down in value tonight?

    • 69.1
      inittowinit says:

Don’t think so Fox, in fact nowhere near. Fix has him at 54.4% to rise! He will drop at some point this week but no rush from the looks of it.

    • 69.2
      NIN says:

Ouch. That’s really unfortunate for him. He has been quality all season. Hopefully he makes a quicker recovery than is being reported.

      • FC Sanchez says:

Who to replace Forster? Pity he’s out as he’s been excellent. K. Davis did well today (although he looked like he put on some pounds) so stick w/ Southampton or go for someone else? (Ospina, Myhill, De Gea, Mignolet come to mind though the latter 2 have a few tough ones coming up?)

        • FC Sanchez says:

          Or even Fabianski?

        • NIN says:

If Forster is out for as long as reported, then Davis seems a great bargain. After that, Migs seems a good purchase too.

        • LaByRiNtH says:

Myhill for cheaper route. Play with 10men against kun, silva n city.
Let in 3 goal but manage to save 13-15 shot. And he got 5 point for yesterday
          Impressive.

Alternative davis and fabianski for me

    Guys,

    This is my current team,

    Pantsu,
    Noughton, azpi, bertrand, alder
    Haz, eriksen, silva
    Kane (c), kun, giroud

    Mannone, ozil, boyd, pva

As we are closing to dgw and blank gameweek, is it a good move for me to transfer out giroud for benteke and manone for myhil?
    I got 1.6 itb plus 2FT

    Thanks in advance

      TheDreamers says:

Not sure Id be losing Giroud given his form. How long is Foster out for?

      • MattX says:

I agree with Dreamers on the Giroud issue, leave him in. Myhill is a good move as Foster is gone for the next 6 months I think, but I could be mixing him with Forster.

        • Labyrinth/MattX

Foster (West Brom) is six months

          Source: WBA Official:

ALBION goalkeeper Ben Foster has been ruled out for six months after damaging cruciate knee ligaments in the recent victory over Stoke City.

The 31-year-old England keeper underwent reconstruction surgery on his anterior cruciate ligaments yesterday after the damage was discovered during an exploratory operation.

Foster, who has become one of the mainstays of Albion’s defence during the club’s recent Premier League years, has targeted a first team return in October of next season.

But the news is a hugely disappointing blow for player, club and country, Foster having emerged as national coach Roy Hodgson’s first-choice understudy to Joe Hart.

Foster limped out of the Stoke game in the second half and initial examination suggested cartilage damage and a month’s absence from duty.

But it was agreed that if surgeons found more substantial damage during Friday’s surgery repairs would be carried out at the same time and the Albion favourite awoke to be told of the lengthier absence.

Dr Mark Gillett, who as Director of Performance heads up Albion’s sports science and medical team, says: “Ben is in good spirits despite this obvious disappointment to him – he’s already talking about his ‘rehab’ and wanting to get started on it immediately.

“But he has had a cruciate reconstruction of his left knee following the injury against Stoke and he will be out for six months.”

Foster suffered similar damage in his right knee early in his career, making a full recovery to establish himself as one of the top keepers in the Premier League.

Albion will now look to Foster’s clubmate and close pal Boaz Myhill to continue his recent impressive form – the Welsh international was outstanding during the Baggies 10-man battle against champions Manchester City – with Under 21 graduate Jack Rose continuing as understudy.

Cheers GP I thought it was 6 months.

    MattX says:

Pretty happy with my team for next week I think this will be my lineup given no injuries. The only move I’m thinking of making is Pantillimon –> Fabianski
What you think? 2 FTs and 0.7 mil in the bank

    • 71.1

      MattX

      Morning pal

      Looks good on paper.

You not convinced by Villa then for the DGW? So you don’t lose a FT, I’d maybe go Krul – Guzan.

      • MattX says:

        Morning GP

Well I’m not too sure about the Villa defence and with them playing Utd and QPR I dnt really see a CS, but with Swansea playing Hull I think Fab can get a CS. Could be wrong though.

Would you not sell Pantillimon instead of Krul??

        • MattX

As I’ve said already this week – I really don’t fancy Newcastle for the rest of this season.

How about Haidara out for Hutton – nice chance of some attacking returns?

If not then I understand and I’d do the Fabianski move – but again for Krul for me mate.

        • MattX says:

No I understand that I don’t think Newcastle will be good either this season but Sunderland have been poor so thought it to be the lesser of two evils.

I like the Haidara to Hutton move but then that leaves me with a bit of selection headache as to who to leave on the bench.

          Probably just go with Guzan.

    Hey guyz

Well chuffed with 75 pts so far with Terry / Haz / Austin still to play…..looking at that exclusive 100 club fingers crossed.

    So looking to next Gw.
is Austin for captain, a no brainer?
    3 goals & 1 assist in 10 prem games doesn’t fill me with confidence…?

    • 72.1
      MattX says:

Same here mate after the disaster that was last week we all needed big scores this week.

I don’t think Austin is a dead cert captain choice as Kane is playing Burnley and after his hat trick today and a possible first England cap he could be riding high.

    • 72.2

      BigP

Good scoring. I have 70 with the same three to go so If you get the ton – I can’t be that far behind 😉

I wouldn’t say its a no-brainer that one but it is a no-brainer to keep him in your side if you have him already.

Kane, again would make good captaincy appeal for the next GW at Burnley.
