Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 31 – Fantasy Premier League 2014/15

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 20GW31 is live! Finally a lunch time kick off worth talking about. The Gunners welcome in the Merseysiders in what promises to be the last visit for several Liverpool players, Sterling ($), Gerrard (age,) and Glen Johnson (errrr) to the Emirates wearing “The Reds” kit. Well Stevie will actually watch from the stands we guess, with his stamp brother in arms Skrtel, so he won’t get one last chance to step on the hallowed ground that Wenger built. That fine looking fixture is followed by five three o’clock games. Not sure there is anything worth getting excited in that lot about. Perhaps if you went hard with double game-week players, you might be interested in seeing if any of your players have the game of their lives and produce more than 2 points. In the last fixture of the day we see Chelsea welcome in the Potters. This will be a chance for the Chelsea defence to redeem itself and show that they are not as shaky as they have appeared recently. Surely they can’t look as old and slow versus something older and slower in Peter Crouch, but nothing would surprise us with the way they have been defending.

Sunday sees the arrival of the English press golden boy Harry (greatest thing since Raheem Sterling) take the pitch against a Burnley side, that will surely be like lambs to slaughter. Long live the King! At least until the press burns him at the stake. In the other fixture we get a glimpse into the big derby somewhere up North. Known as the Tyne-Wear derby to locals and one really bad team vs one very average team to the rest of us.

On the third straight day of action, the temporary champions Manchester City visit Selhurst Park. With the Silver Fox having Palace all but safe from relegation, hopefully he will go for the win and turn this Monday night affair into an open game.

We finish it off with DGW standouts Aston Villa and QPR on Tuesday. Hopefully this will be the last time we will be subjected to a double with two teams who are MLS calibre.

Don’t forget to also share any experiences if you are participating in any or several of the woofbet.com leagues. Remember scores update in real time, so don’t be shy and let us know how much you are in line to win.

Hi all, long time no speak. Hope everyone is doing well, and shooting well in FPL? I’m still hanging around the lower margin of the top 10k but with a WC left to play and thinking about how I can crack on and finish a bit higher. Anybody browsing fancy a comment or two? I’m a bit out of the loop and don’t want to rush anything (the transfers made while travelling were not great- Lloris in to get injured within 3 minutes, though Phillips in for JWP for the DGW may yet turn out shiny). It seems that capitalising on the DGW for Chelsea or Arsenal might be the best use of the WC though?

Trying to get a new plan going for gw 33 and 34. Costas injury spoiled my previous plans
    How about this?
    2 FT 3.0 mill
GW32 Walters to Henderson and Hutton to Alderweireld
    1FT
    GW33 Caz to Fabregas
    1FT
    GW34 Eriksen to Mata

I’ve been pondering smile What do we make of these proposed transfers? A lot could change with injuries and all that, but on the face of it…

32 – Marney -> Mane. Probably bench Austin.
33 – Forster -> Davis. Can field a strong 11 with this transfer
34 – Lescott -> Terry. Ivanovic, Terry, Hazard for the double week.

Those seem good to me NIN. What happens if anyone gets injured pre-GW33? Doesn’t hurt to have another option up the sleeve. Who will be on your bench apart from Ospina and Austin? And Haidara obvs

      • NIN says:

Cheers Pip. If that were to happen then it would likely be a case of fielding 10 men in GW33. Wouldn’t be the first time i left the GK position blank for one GW. Eriksen would likely warm the bench in 33-34 until i get around to selling him. Austin benched this week, most likely.

        • Pippin says:

All sounds about right. I think I will have to play Austin this week, or use both my FTs. Doubt he’ll get much joy against Chelsea though, but you never know…

        • NIN says:

He scored at the Bridge this season 😉 But yeah, i do agree, cant see QPR scoring in that game.

      • Raziel says:

I’m moving Terry out and will go for Fabregas for the DGW. I’ll have Ivan/Fabs/Haz (unless Costa is good again). Also thinking of doing Austin to Rooney for the next GW. Rooney always plays, RvP injured and Rooney playing upfront again, scoring goals and is on penalty duty. I see him score versus City/Chelsea.

Those sound like good moves i think. I would probably do Marney to Ki instead of mane. But that’s just me, I’m not all that impressed with Mane

      DMC says:

      Hi NIN
They seem good moves and certainly make your team look better. But, there’s always a but, with Mane you have a very strong front 8 only being able to field 7. A headache every GW…(except of course GW33 in which you can’t field Austin).
I have the same problem and players (with Sanchez instead of Mata) and decided to not solve that adding another strong mid.
In light of the BGW/DGW I am focusing on how to have a keeper on GW33 (pantsu / hamer here) and how to add chelsea players to Terry/Haz.
One option would be to add 1 leicester defender (kasper/shlupp), given they are at home on GW33 and double on 34, one of which being at burnley. This would help both on the cash front and the team balance front (not that is gives you points :)).
Other option is to get Davis just now, to take advantage of the Hull game, then the defender move (Lescott/Rose to Terry or an Everton defender – good fixtures between 33 and 36) and then see what’s better for GW34, either Erik/Mata-» Fabs, if you didnt go for Terry, or Erik/Mata-»Arsenal mid, since they are strong at home and you’d be preparing DGW37!
      Is that of any help?

      • NIN says:

Great reply, DMC. Cheers, mate. I hear you re the expensive front 8. If i bring in Mane then Austin drops to the bench this week, and it would be Eriksen for 33-34, then Eriksen would be sold on to raise funds for Giroud a bit later on.

        • DMC says:

Np, my pleasure! But if your going to bench+sell Erik what’s the point of having him now?
I here “Aston Villa at home for GW32”. Ok, i’d then think of sorting the defender/keeper front this GW and then sell Erik on GW33 thus not adding Mane. Unless you believe he is going to explode against Hull, I wouldnt do a move that then means you’re benching 8.X of your budget for two gw!! That being said I will now stop stalking your team!! smile

        • NIN says:

Actually, it would only be one GW benching Eriksen as he’ll have to play in the BGW when Austin will be missing. I’m trying to work my way around the fixture list without upsetting the team too much. If i were to get Southampton defence this week then it’d be a struggle to drop someone. Hmm, i think i’m talking myself into this Mane move. I do think he’ll score well against Hull too.

        • GentleBenAKA says:

NIN – I’m having Eriksen issues as well. Given his last 8 games (average score of 2.5 points per game) I don’t think he is good value anymore.

        • NIN says:

Agreed, Ben. Ever since Kane started going mental every week Eriksen has been very quiet. If not for Villa at home this weekend then he’d be gone from my squad this week.
