FF247 Regulars League and Cup Update
Just a quick word on this from Elle…
Hello lads and lasses. Hope we all end up achieving our goals as we near the end of the season. As the end of another fantasy premier league season draws to a close lets have a look back at the Regulars league and cup.
As you all know I decided to start a league for all the regulars on our site. Like most of you, I never knew who any bugger was in the internationally well known FF247 league. And so the Regulars league took off, all of you mailed me names so that when someone asked who so and so was we all knew who they were. The league itself has been a rollercoaster ride all season with different leaders all the way through, it wasn’t hard to lead, even I spent a week or two up in those giddy heights. At the time of writing Brookyboy sits in number 1 closely followed by Raz in 2nd and Dreamers in 3rd. Can Brooky claim the top spot after 38 gameweeks? After the next 2 gameweeks will we know.
As we reached Christmas last year, the top 64 in the Regulars League were entered into the regulars cup, so off we went. Round 1 saw some close ties and included in the 32 to be ousted were big names such as GP, NiN, Init and our own unrespected techno guy Floydeth. 32 soon became 16 in round 2 with big names such as Labyrinth, Silvers, Raz and my good self falling by the wayside. I’d like to mention at this point that the FF247 community team were still going strong having seen off Alsed and myself in the first 2 rounds. Was it really possible that many heads were better than the individual? Only time would tell. Round 3 saw really big names fall, such as Kop Warrior, Mito, Bigpopz and Colrilles. The community team having seen off Stewy10. Now we were down to the last 8, was this squeaky bum time with a semi final looming? Well the 4 that were edged out were our mls guru Guy Sanchez, 1of7, Los Machos and Sweet Blue Toffee. The community team seeing off Los Machos. So the final 4 were Red Snappers Gone (Kruzcampo) v The community team and Cookies Monsters v Wafflez. The semis were played in DGW34 so big scores were expected, and we weren’t disappointed. Both ties were close with Cookie winning 158 to 156 and the Community team losing by 155 to 154. The end of the road had come for all of us thanks to Kruzcampo but I’m sure you’ll agree the community team did really well.
And so to the final Cookie v Kruzcampo in GW38. Good luck guys, I’m off to nick a wheel trim for the winner.
I hope you all have enjoyed the regulars league and cup, same again next season? I’ll be asking for e-mails to arrive in the summer, so stick around.
Elleffcee.

Well we shall see if I was right or wrong to play my WC GW36 as I have 31pts and 11 DGplayers to go with Carroll on TC its shit or bust I guess, but I feel I shall prevail and get lower in the overall league – currently 9,000 odd. However I do not think I would take the WC risk again!!
I wouldn’t write it off too much, it’s just a strange week.
There’s nobody in the dream team this week that jumps out as a normal pick. And there aren’t many regulars who scored well.
Vardy, KDB & Sanchez did, but some DGWers have had a good start too (Mata, Man Utd defence, Azpil, Defoe, Mignolet). It’s all about picking the right players.
What of the performances themselves? WHU didn’t look sharp; we’re they expecting Swansea to be headed for the beach? Curious, disappointed.
Hey Ki I didn’t watch the match but from what I heard and read they were absolutely terrible.
I was very much dissappointed in Caroll, Payet and Hazard so far.
Seen some really nice scores on here so let’s hope the next few games are brilliant for us. Currently on 53 (-12) with 10 including Payet (c) left to play. Don’t really mind the -12 as the lads I sold did nothing anyway. Just gutted about going for Cresswell over Azpi!!!
Yeah I went for Creswell also Matt – pretty shambolic showing from the Hammers all round.
Yeah I’m glad I didn’t go for Carroll aswell he was poor too let’s hope they give Upton Park a great good bye and hammer United haha
yeah, let’s hope they don’t eh?!
Haha sorry Cook but I’d love a 5-0 win
a 6-5 United win with Payet, Carroll and Rashford in the goals will do just fine! Will ignore Creswell and DDG at this point
That would be a pretty good game and what what make it better is if Cresswell gets a few assists and nabs a goal himself haha
Chuck in a DDG penalty save and we have a deal
Haha Deal
Let’s hope they don’t also. Hope Chelsea hammer Liverpool
I think a Carroll brace will secure my ML!!
I just need some goals and points from my players and it’ll secure me second place atleast so still in the money
Great weekend – watched my boys Plymouth Argyle win 5-0 and won the half time raffle £814. Only Portsmouth between us and Wembley. On 40 pts with 7 + Payet(c) to play. Nice green arrow up to 34k. Didn’t make any tfs this week so have 2 next week and TC to play. Sanchez v Villa ??
Nice one gramps not a bad weekend for you then
Nice one gramps.
I reckon whoever avoids defeat at home will get through to the final.
Swansea to rest keeper Fabianski home to City this weekend….Guidolin is just toying with us now!
Not so bad. Ageuro as captain?? 😛
Or Sanchez
I’ll probably go with Sanchez but I think my ML leader will too and I kind of want a differential to hopefully gain more points tham him.
Lads,
Have I fu*ked up my lead in my ML? opponent is now 3 points behind – both teams are below:
No I think you’re alright mate you still have 10 players left and he only has 8 so you should be alright.
I hope so mate! Have a bad feeling I’m going to lose it again
Just got to hope mate.
