FF247 Regulars League and Cup Update
Just a quick word on this from Elle…
Hello lads and lasses. Hope we all end up achieving our goals as we near the end of the season. As the end of another fantasy premier league season draws to a close lets have a look back at the Regulars league and cup.
As you all know I decided to start a league for all the regulars on our site. Like most of you, I never knew who any bugger was in the internationally well known FF247 league. And so the Regulars league took off, all of you mailed me names so that when someone asked who so and so was we all knew who they were. The league itself has been a rollercoaster ride all season with different leaders all the way through, it wasn’t hard to lead, even I spent a week or two up in those giddy heights. At the time of writing Brookyboy sits in number 1 closely followed by Raz in 2nd and Dreamers in 3rd. Can Brooky claim the top spot after 38 gameweeks? After the next 2 gameweeks will we know.
As we reached Christmas last year, the top 64 in the Regulars League were entered into the regulars cup, so off we went. Round 1 saw some close ties and included in the 32 to be ousted were big names such as GP, NiN, Init and our own unrespected techno guy Floydeth. 32 soon became 16 in round 2 with big names such as Labyrinth, Silvers, Raz and my good self falling by the wayside. I’d like to mention at this point that the FF247 community team were still going strong having seen off Alsed and myself in the first 2 rounds. Was it really possible that many heads were better than the individual? Only time would tell. Round 3 saw really big names fall, such as Kop Warrior, Mito, Bigpopz and Colrilles. The community team having seen off Stewy10. Now we were down to the last 8, was this squeaky bum time with a semi final looming? Well the 4 that were edged out were our mls guru Guy Sanchez, 1of7, Los Machos and Sweet Blue Toffee. The community team seeing off Los Machos. So the final 4 were Red Snappers Gone (Kruzcampo) v The community team and Cookies Monsters v Wafflez. The semis were played in DGW34 so big scores were expected, and we weren’t disappointed. Both ties were close with Cookie winning 158 to 156 and the Community team losing by 155 to 154. The end of the road had come for all of us thanks to Kruzcampo but I’m sure you’ll agree the community team did really well.
And so to the final Cookie v Kruzcampo in GW38. Good luck guys, I’m off to nick a wheel trim for the winner.

Just trying everything to win my ML mate. Only hitting so much because my oppo was too and so affording me the changes I felt necessary. Andy could have won it for me tonight but looks like we are in for a nail biting finish now!

Be so poetic wouldn’t it! Only problem is I have 3 Gooners. Need to pull a Hail Mary out of somewhere. Feel free to inspire me! Left funds for Kun but he has him already so probably pointless now that. Plan was Carroll with a couple and then just block to win but now I’ll need a winner myself. Puncheon and Naismith aren’t doing this one. We need a new legend!

Payet in for 2 BPS as well, wasn’t his best game and he missed a couple great chances but he grinds out the points. Sorry to the Carroll triple captainers, I have him too but went Payet (TC) in the end. I think Carroll’s gonna go for maybe Defoe, he’ll be killing himself trying to keep them up. What other strikers look good for the last weekend?

I’m all loaded up with Arsenal players. I have Koscielny, Bellerin, and Sanchez. So you can be sure they’ll ship a goal to Villa at home and kick me in the junk one more time before the season’s over.

Not a bad shout Cookie, thanks. He looked menacing today. Kinda wish they didn’t lose or they’d really be up for getting that 4th spot and CL. As it stands now, are they officially out of CL qualification even with a win against Bournemouth and other teams losing?
City are 2 points clear Red with a hugely better goal difference – therefore a draw for City would be enough. If City lost and United won, United nick 4th.
Nice, well at least they’ve still got a shot. City are free to lose as far as I’m concerned as long as Aguero knicks a goal or two. Nothing better than the final weekend with relegation and European places still undecided!!
City will do what they need to do, Red. Shame, but what will be will be. United don’t deserve it.
Even though we’re supposed to be sworn enemies, I was sort of hoping United would squeak into the CL and win the FA Cup so they’d keep Hiddink for the last year of his contract and snub Mourinho. For some reason I just don’t want to see him at United, mainly because he wants it so bad. After his antics at Chelsea this last time I don’t have the stomach for him that I used to. Hope he ends up at PSG or someplace else so I don’t have to watch him on TV as much.
