FF247 Regulars League and Cup Update
Just a quick word on this from Elle…
Hello lads and lasses. Hope we all end up achieving our goals as we near the end of the season. As the end of another fantasy premier league season draws to a close lets have a look back at the Regulars league and cup.
As you all know I decided to start a league for all the regulars on our site. Like most of you, I never knew who any bugger was in the internationally well known FF247 league. And so the Regulars league took off, all of you mailed me names so that when someone asked who so and so was we all knew who they were. The league itself has been a rollercoaster ride all season with different leaders all the way through, it wasn’t hard to lead, even I spent a week or two up in those giddy heights. At the time of writing Brookyboy sits in number 1 closely followed by Raz in 2nd and Dreamers in 3rd. Can Brooky claim the top spot after 38 gameweeks? After the next 2 gameweeks will we know.
As we reached Christmas last year, the top 64 in the Regulars League were entered into the regulars cup, so off we went. Round 1 saw some close ties and included in the 32 to be ousted were big names such as GP, NiN, Init and our own unrespected techno guy Floydeth. 32 soon became 16 in round 2 with big names such as Labyrinth, Silvers, Raz and my good self falling by the wayside. I’d like to mention at this point that the FF247 community team were still going strong having seen off Alsed and myself in the first 2 rounds. Was it really possible that many heads were better than the individual? Only time would tell. Round 3 saw really big names fall, such as Kop Warrior, Mito, Bigpopz and Colrilles. The community team having seen off Stewy10. Now we were down to the last 8, was this squeaky bum time with a semi final looming? Well the 4 that were edged out were our mls guru Guy Sanchez, 1of7, Los Machos and Sweet Blue Toffee. The community team seeing off Los Machos. So the final 4 were Red Snappers Gone (Kruzcampo) v The community team and Cookies Monsters v Wafflez. The semis were played in DGW34 so big scores were expected, and we weren’t disappointed. Both ties were close with Cookie winning 158 to 156 and the Community team losing by 155 to 154. The end of the road had come for all of us thanks to Kruzcampo but I’m sure you’ll agree the community team did really well.
And so to the final Cookie v Kruzcampo in GW38. Good luck guys, I’m off to nick a wheel trim for the winner.

So Terry’s suspended and Vardy needs at least a goal to tie Kane for the Golden Boot. I think it might be Carroll out for Jaime Vardy.
And Aguero’s on 24 goals too, all three of them should be up for it then.
Apologies Red, I fell asleep!! I would consider Giroud and Long also. Giroud will defo play vs Villa with Welbeck injured and Long is in decent form vs a Palace side who are safe and face the Cup final a week later.

Martial is not a bad option. Man Utd will go all out to win, and if they do expect him to be among the goals and assists.

Was going to do Aguero out, Carroll In (cap him), Antonio out, Willian In for a -4.
Instead I have Sanchez cap and 74 points with Moreno and Milner left

what we learn this season is never take a risk on dgw (TC)
Come on, all this hindsight talk about carroll and Payet is just rubbish. Payet was Out of form and the donkey was ‘the’ inform striker with a dgw. He could have easily scored or assisted tonight and he was fouled by smalling at least In two occasions In the penalty area. Payet assisted twice from setpieces (which he excells at of course) but did nothing aside from that… I TC carroll and would do it again based on the info and gut feeling at the time. Nobody saw freaking Siggy and Williams swansea less scoring 4 on the weekend…

DMC, the whole season has been such..cant complain.
Payet was in decent form not great and we pick him because he is great in dead ball situations and overall play. I am really annoyed I went for Carroll over Martial, cost me big time
So I made a silly mistake and forgot to activate my TC on Payet. So should I TC Sanchez or Aquero next GW or bench boost?
Jog, that depends on what your bench is like mate. You’d have to fancy Alexis vs Villa.

Morning all pretty poor season for me but need to keep going until end of season on 71 with 4 out of 5 to come will probably do Haz to KDB FTF for last GW they have to win or draw I will also take a hit for Sturridge to Martial or Kane. 😉
Morning Silvers, nice score this week my friend. Trust me, many are looking forward to the end of the season, but give it a fortnight and I guarantee there will be a few posting, “When will FPL go live for next season?” !!
A break is good though and will help many get over the disappointments of this season and find their enthusiasm for next season.
Hey Cookie yes be glad when this season over going to give the Euros a go are you in , not sure when it all kicks off nk season but I will be back. 😉
Yeah, I’ll give the Euros a go – my knowledge of such things is dreadful so I’m not expecting to be at the top end, but it’ll keep me involved. Will enjoy the cricket more, as per usual!
