FF247 Regulars League and Cup Update
Just a quick word on this from Elle…

Hello lads and lasses. Hope we all end up achieving our goals as we near the end of the season. As the end of another fantasy premier league season draws to a close lets have a look back at the Regulars league and cup.
As you all know I decided to start a league for all the regulars on our site. Like most of you, I never knew who any bugger was in the internationally well known FF247 league. And so the Regulars league took off, all of you mailed me names so that when someone asked who so and so was we all knew who they were. The league itself has been a rollercoaster ride all season with different leaders all the way through, it wasn’t hard to lead, even I spent a week or two up in those giddy heights. At the time of writing Brookyboy sits in number 1 closely followed by Raz in 2nd and Dreamers in 3rd. Can Brooky claim the top spot after 38 gameweeks? After the next 2 gameweeks will we know.

As we reached Christmas last year, the top 64 in the Regulars League were entered into the regulars cup, so off we went. Round 1 saw some close ties and included in the 32 to be ousted were big names such as GP, NiN, Init and our own unrespected techno guy Floydeth. 32 soon became 16 in round 2 with big names such as Labyrinth, Silvers, Raz and my good self falling by the wayside. I’d like to mention at this point that the FF247 community team were still going strong having seen off Alsed and myself in the first 2 rounds. Was it really possible that many heads were better than the individual? Only time would tell. Round 3 saw really big names fall, such as Kop Warrior, Mito, Bigpopz and Colrilles. The community team having seen off Stewy10. Now we were down to the last 8, was this squeaky bum time with a semi final looming? Well the 4 that were edged out were our mls guru Guy Sanchez, 1of7, Los Machos and Sweet Blue Toffee. The community team seeing off Los Machos. So the final 4 were Red Snappers Gone (Kruzcampo) v The community team and Cookies Monsters v Wafflez. The semis were played in DGW34 so big scores were expected, and we weren’t disappointed. Both ties were close with Cookie winning 158 to 156 and the Community team losing by 155 to 154. The end of the road had come for all of us thanks to Kruzcampo but I’m sure you’ll agree the community team did really well.

And so to the final Cookie v Kruzcampo in GW38. Good luck guys, I’m off to nick a wheel trim for the winner.

I hope you all have enjoyed the regulars league and cup, same again next season? I’ll be asking for e-mails to arrive in the summer, so stick around.

Elleffcee.

    Morning all,
Thankful for Martial to get in on the goals last night, i’m currently on 76 points (with -8)
BB activated which has added a whooping 6 pts to my total laugh
Got 4 to play tonight, Robles (iffy), Moreno, PVA and Hazard
My main ML rivals have more attackers to play than me but it’s getting tight at the top

So, the fantasy euro 2016 is out! Already! I don’t know who is running it but it’s safe to say that its not the iffy crew from the UCL one. Here’s my first effort:

That’s a good looking team DMC. I didn’t even know the site was up yet. Is it the Fanager site above? How can we pick players already though the English team hasn’t even been announced yet smile

        • DMC says:

Cheers Mattx – yep this is from the uefa site: http://eurofantasy.uefa.com/en
The points system is similar to FPL, without bps and some more restricted rules in terms of what is an assist. The squads are not out yet and I suppose there will be several changes. What I don’t know is what will they do to players that won’t be called upon that are already selected in a fantasy squad. For example, I very much doubt Aquilani will make it but hey he’s already in my squad (as an enabler, mainly) so don’t go and take him off now!!

        • MattX says:

Cheers DMC. Yeah I’d say it’ll just be the same for FPL when a player gets sold be just disappears

      • inittowinit says:

That’s the UEFA one Matt. I dare say that’s the one we will all use as Pottys comps will be in there. I’ll open a FF247 Regulars League later and post the code. Fanager is purely daily so that’s more up to people to play individually if they so wish but their opening games have a free to enter £10 prize pot so that’ll be worth having a go at and we will be pushing that a bit give the sponsorship.

Tonight is a big night for me in my ML the leader is currently 46 points ahead of me but I’m 35 points ahead of third. I have 6 players left to play tonight and my leader only has 3 but we have 2 of the same players so hopefully will close that gap for the final push this weekend. Is it too much to ask for a Defoe hatty with PVA assisting all three, A few Robles saves, and Liverpool to win 2-1 with Fab getting the goal and Mignolet to save a Hazard penalty hahaha smile

    Undercover says:

Right, so I was wondering if anyone can beat my appalling captaincy record this season. I’ve gone through all 37 weeks so far and identified how many times my captain has been my best performer that week, how many times they have been the worst, and how many times they have blanked. By blanking I mean a simple 1, 2 or 3 pointer as I’m counting a solitary clean sheet bonus point (in the case of midfielders) as a blank. Also, in the case of DGWs I’m counting twice. Case in point is me picking Lukaku for the first DGW and Carroll for the second = 4 blanks. Here are the shocking numbers.

    Best performer: 3 times
    Worst performer: 5 times
    Blank: 23 times

Can anyone beat my blanking stat in particular? 23 out of 37…just wow. Somehow I am still top of my mini league, but hanging on for dear life.

      Undercover says:

Oh and by worst I’m counting joint worst.

      photek says:

That sounds like self punishment, i’d rather not look at mine lol!
What matters is where you finish the season

      DMC says:

Undercover – do let us know who are you captaining on gw38! smile
Seriously mate, several times this year the most obvious choices didn’t work so I suppose many will be In similar numbers. That’s assuming you didnt capo people like Lee Catermole of course.

      • Undercover says:

I’ve generally been pretty conservative with my captain picks – always choosing one of the obvious choices. So many times I’ve picked the wrong guy in the wrong week though, much more than usual anyway. Pretty sure I’m going with Alexis final week so beware!

      inittowinit says:

What was your total capo score for the 37? What I’m thinking is that it’d be interesting to see how that stacks up compared to if you’d say simply captained Mahrez every single week. Interesting to note that he himself, despite being the top scorer, ‘blanked’ on 17 occasions out of the 36 in which he actually played. That would suggest that blanking around that mark i.e roughly half the games is actually about right so the chances of anyone doing so on any given game is about that. For the top players anyway, obviously more so if you’re picking crap ones. Which you wouldn’t anyway. Unless your names Potty.

Couldn’t be bothered going through it now but might do later on tonight when boredom has settled in.

    The B says:

79 points so far with 6 players to go.

In the top 10K for the first time this season, hopefully I can maintain this rank with Triple Captain still intact.

    Possible?
