Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 38 – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16
And there it was gone. 37 weeks of sheer hell! For most anyway. Will the 38th be any better? Probably not! All logic seemed to go out of the window this time, taking with it the careful planning and attention to detail that most successful fantasy managers usually thrive on. Looking back it truly was the season of the underdog, ably accompanied by his close mate ‘Spoiler Dog’ as every best laid plan seemed to get scuppered at every single bloody turn, be it by an injury, a suspension, a rotation, a drugs test… On and on and on… to the point where we all just gave in and just had to finally laugh or cry. Always better to just laugh.
On which point we did. Well, we did both didn’t we, along the way. We all laughed, we all cried, we all had fun. Most importantly we all did it together. For better or for worse we all stuck at it and tried our best to help each other along the way. One big fantasy football community. And we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for every single comment and view this season, it means a lot, and means we are doing our job properly. We shall of course be back for next season but in the meantime please stick with us as we shall be playing Fantasy Euro 2016 over the summer as well as building up to the next FPL season with pre-season articles galore.
For now though, ‘enjoy’ what is left of this somewhat horrid fantasy season and we wish you luck in nailing your mini-leagues in the final week. Make sure you tell us how it went for you, either way. Every game starts at the same time this week so whether it’s pain or pleasure for you it’ll be over quite quickly. Here are the final 10 games…

I was all set to retire this year but after losing my work league by only 4 points (cheers for that Chris) I may have to carry on. On the plus side I won the rest so not a bad season,
Thanks to everyone who gave advice and generally put up with my ramblings
EBC?? Not a chance
Not a chance you will be allowed to retire I meant!
Nice jump in ranking over those last 3 weeks Ebc.I just managed to pip ya ! Hope to see you next season ! 😉
I would like to thank admin, article writer and everyone here. It’s been really great season.
Finish at OR 25,991 with 2222 points.
Take over 1st position at last GW at my work and colleague Mini League.
It’s been happy to be a part of this community.
See you all next season.

Well played ichalviking
Morning all been looking at Euro team , bargain basement Def I’ve come up with these at present 4.5m Prodi & Hinteregger Austria , 4.5m Fonte & Cedric Portugal , 4m Bartra Spain & 4.5m Stones Eng these teams have a reasonable chance of going though group stages so my ? for every one will any off these be nailed on ????????
Silvers, this DMC’s predicted starting XI for Portugal:
Predicted starting XI (in my eyes):
Rui Patrício
Vieirinha, Pepe, Carvalho, Eliseu
William Carvalho, Adrien, João Mário
Quaresma, Cristiano, Nani.
So that prob rules out Fonte & Cedric. I’d be amazed if Stones is a starter. Bartra I have never heard of, but given he’s Spanish and priced at 4mln I’d have my doubts. As for the Austrians, let me know when you know!!
Austria page on the UEFA website Silvers
http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro/news/newsid=2346198.html
Seems Prodl and Hinteregger will fight it out to play alongside Dragovic, according to the above.
All good stuff Cookie I expect Spain line to be Juanfran , Pique , Ramos , Alba @ the back.
Portugal who the hell is Vieirinha don’t thk he’s in the squad I thk there line up will be
??? Pepe , Carvalho , Eliseu and one from these Centrac if he’s gone Cedric & Fonte
Austria are expected to be second in there group I thk your right Prodl and Hinteregger will fight it out for to play alongside Dragovic
cheers mate back to the drg board
Silvers, Vieirinha plays for Wolfsburg and has just done that on the CL quarter finals against Real Madrid. He’s good.
Silvers, has cookie mentioned, while quoting me!, Fonte and Cedric are not starters. Cedric is back up for Vieirinha (wolfsburg) and Fonte is our 4th CB. The cheapest and guaranteed to start way into Portugal’s defence is GK Rui Patrício (5.0). Eliseu is also at 5.0 and seems nailed, but not only he is shite he also has Raphael Guerreiro (4.0) in the shadow. Raphael plays for montpellier and was one of our best players in last year’s U21 euros. He’s much better than Eliseu but he is very young. We’ll need to access that near the tournament.
As for your others suggestions I’m sorry to say that Bartra will surely not play ahead of Piqué or Ramos and that Stones may also not start ahead of Smalling and Cahill. I’m a bit surprised he only named 3 CB’s, that’s risky. Not sure if it’s a “tradition” in England’s squad for final tournaments though.
Also, on the bargain+nailed defenders I’ve found Williams (4.0) for Wales. Not sure you’d fancy him. If only they had the BPS installed!
I’m sure other options will rise from the preview article on each team to come.
Thanks DMC I’m a trier yes I see Vieirinha he’s down as a MF player I have Port GK as my second keeper at present but looking for any money gains now.
Silvers – hadn’t noticed that about Vieirinha being down as a MF! Thanks for poiting that out.
It’s wrong, though. He’ll play at RB. They probably did that because he started his career as a winger (as did Eliseu (remember Pellegrini’s Málaga?) btw, but he’s Wolfsburg RB for a few seasons now so no doubts there. Probably skip then, now that any given CS won’t benefit him.
Cheers Silvers I never looked that far down as Ashley is the only one I know.
Anyone know a nailed on starting defender for 4.5 but may go up to 5.0 if nothing out there?
Kruzcampo cant find any nailed on under 5m yet but Dummett might get a place for Wales @ 4m Ive been looking @
Prodl and Hinteregger Austria @4.5m
Kruscampo, not many good/nailed options in that price range of course.
Dier, at 5.0, would probably stand out.
All the Czech Rep. defence fits the price too. Gebre Selassie at 4.5 could be a shrewd investment.
DMC, Just looked to swap Stones for Williams but Williams is coming in at 5.5. Which fantasy game have you got as I am in all the FF247 leagues so I am on the same as most others.
Kruzcampo you are on the right league people are getting mixed up with Ashley & Jordan Williams both play for Wales Jordan is 4m but never plays or very little 😉
Argh!! I see this jordan bloke now! Well, nevermind that then, it’s 5.5 for mr. Ashley Williams yes. Interestingly, jordan is on a 6% ownership while ashley is on 4%, so, as silvers mentioned, lots of people are going the wrong foot here.
sorry for thanking the admins and the peeps late who helped me to get the best ranking overall and winning all the 5 ML’s ????… You all’ve been absolutely brilliant!! Thanks for the brilliant tips and the insight u give into the game. Even though i don’t regularly post, I have not missed reading any articles and threads discussions. I wish i knew abt this site earlier… But never late than ever…. But thanks everyone and very much looking forward for the euros..
Well done on your ranking St1cky! Get involved on the chat mate, you’ve been lurking for long enough to know we’re not that bad a crowd!! Well, most of us anyway :hippo:
Cheers Cookie!!! Haha.. you guys are definitely not a bad crowd.. I will get more involved from next season…
Budiful! You playing the Euros?
Yes, I am playing Euros!!! Is there a league I can join.. I’ve setup a team this morning but the website seems to be running very slow..unable to setup league
St1cky, the password for our FF247 league is: 02049WBX
Thanks.. will join mate..
ok my nk ? will Sturridge be a nailed on starter he should be for me but it seems to be a ?
I think we had the same doubt for WC2014 and in the end he did start. Of course there was no Kane back then so I see your hesitations. My hint is that, if fit, he definitely starts but probably “coming from the wing” and not upfront, where Kane seems nailed.
Any other thoughts here anyone?
Re the Euros – maybe a silly question, but can we substitute players in from the bench to replace underperformers during a “matchday” ?
ie – If I capo’d Giroud in the first game and he does nothing, can I then sub him out for a bench player who is yet to play and captain someone else?
Hey Cook I think we discussed this the other day and we landed on no. Once the players match starts he can’t be changed.
Hey Matt, thanks mate….
…this on the How to Play page reads the opposite to me though…
“The substitution period will be available between gamedays where you can replace a starting XI player with a bench player.”
Yeah but I think what gamedays are in this is Gameday 1 when everyone plays and then Gameday 2 is when everyone plays their second game so I’m slightly confused by it too.
3. Manage team
This is the whole section of “Manage Team” on the How to Play page.
Your team will be locked only when the first match of the day starts, so you can make any changes you need to your team until the scheduled start of the match – you can transfer/substitute players depending whether it’s a transfer or substitution period.
You can make unlimited transfers before the first game of the tournament and knockout stage. However, during the tournament you will have limited number of transfers.
The substitution period will be available between gamedays where you can replace a starting XI player with a bench player.
That defo reads to me as similar to Ultimate FPL, but I completely agree it’s defo not 100% and I wouldn’t swear that what I am thinking is right!!
Yeah I didn’t play UFPL so I’m not sure but I think I’ll just play it safe and have good enough starters everywhere so if we can change subs then I’ll have bench players to come on.
I’ve just written to them, so hopefully they will reply with some definitive answers.
Not so bad well let me know what they reply with please mate
Of course mate
