Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 4 – Fantasy Premier League 2014/15
The deadline bell has rung…did you play your wildcard or have you decided to hold onto it a little longer? Some will be happy with their decision while others will castigate themselves! The first game-week after an international break always makes for fun and games as we have to deal with those ‘international injuries’. Costa is injured, or is he?! Ramsey is injured, or is he?! The game-week kicks off with Arsenal hosting City at lunchtime today and we wrap things up on Monday night with an equally glamourous tie as Hull ‘entertain’ West Ham. Oh and in between there’s the small matter of United potentially rolling out another three debutants.
Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.
Good luck for GW4 from all at FF247!
Evening all! Now, that’s a lovely way to end the GW Señor Di Maria! Phew!
How did we all get on?
Cookie
Back home with a probably below average 56. 14 points from the Angel were very welcome indeed.
GP, one of those weeks where those who captained Costa or ADM were very happy. Unlucky mate, but 56 is not the worst by any stretch and one below average week is defo not a disaster and we have already spoken that your teams looks more than solid.
Cookie,
Yeah that’s what happens in this game – the captaincy choice is so very important.
Is that right what I’m seeing – average 49?
I’m on 237 which is an average 59 on the first four weeks, solid enough.
I’m hoping 49 is average, keep those scores down!!
Average around 60 per week is my benchmark GP, obviously it changes slightly each season. Bottom line is don’t get too excited or too down about the good and bad weeks – they happen!
Howdy Cookie,
Thoughts on the United performance? Blind was an unsung hero for me today, did his job very, very well.
Webstar, I was v impressed. I know QPR were rubbish, but you can only beat what is in front of you and lets face it, United have also been rubbish this season.
Hugely impressed with Blind and Herrera – they brought solidity and energy to the midfield, which has been sorely lacking.
The defence is still a concern, Evans looks awful. Saying that, Blackett did v well again, Rojo looked composed and we have missed Rafael down the flank. Not sure where Shaw fits in.
Di Maria was magnificent and brought pace to the attack. Rooney looked happy, which is what we need. Mata I thought played ok. Not sure about RvP.
Overall, they were excellent but as Neville said, bigger tests will come.
Agree with all the points above.
Not sure what’s gotten into Evans, usually he’s dependable if not awe-inspiring.
Rafa’s early crunches have been missed, just hope Blind learns to sweep in for him when he gets caught diving in higher up the pitch.
Di Maria/Herrera as box to box worked well, be interesting to see if this is the formation we move forward with.
Still think Mata is our best “in the hole” option. Not liking the idea of Rooney in there.
Webstar, I think it all depends on whether he plays both RvP and Falcao or not. If he does Rooney will drop back and Mata is benched I would presume. Think I prefer Rooney higher up as he showed in the first hour or so. The results speak for themselves.
57. Meh.
What are everyone’s plans for Terry next gameweek?
Uncertain, I suddenly got the Chambers gift. 😛
It might be a wise move to play Hutton over Terry? HAHAHA. What a world. 😛
Hutton facing ARsenal at home and Terry City away. City away could be the type of game Mourinho wants to put on a deadlock though, parking the bus I mean. Which means a high possibility of a CS. Everything depends on Mou’s intentions.
As for Chelsea, sooner than later they will pick up points. Though I am aware in their next 5 games they face City away, Villa home, Arsenal home, Palaca away, United away. The way they’ve been defending you never know what will happen.
I hath also receiveth thy gift of Chambers.
It may well boil down to Terry vs Chambers for my 3rd spot in the backline.
Would be reluctant to sell Terry, despite the fixtures, because as you say who knows what can happen. I remember last season Chelsea won 1-0 at the Etihad (Ivanovic again the bastard) so my gut feeling is to play Terry.
Then there’s Chambers. Doesn’t Villa vs Arsenal have 2-0 to the Gunners written all over it? So perhaps I need to play them both…
…then I’d have to bench 2 from Duff, Clyne and Taylor. Arghhhh.
At the moment, im looking at Baines…but that ruins the long term plan of getting Aguero in
Baines can be an extra midfielder in teams, but if you just want the clean sheets then go for Jags.
Baines is on my wishlist, will be hard to get him though unless I downgrade Pelle. Which is a sideways move at the moment considering his fixtures and his form.
Raz,
So desperate to play my WC even though theres only 5/6 changes I want to make. Would feel so comfortable sorting out the base of my team now so future transfers can be based on form and fixtures and not constant sideways moves so I can updgrade somebody in 3 weeks time.
I know it will be wasted now though…
Baines picks up 60 points extra every year from his goals and assists. Outscores most midfielders over the season…seems like a player i need to get in.
Yup. Here’s an interesting comparison re Baines. This is David Silva’s fifth season at City. In the previous four seasons he has outscored Baines, in FPL, just once.
NIN,
And every year I manage to ignore him. Outscored Sterling last season by 30 points and is 1.5 mil cheaper. Within 10 points of Lallana, 30 of Hazard etc and he’s a fraction of the price. By GW7, he will be in my team. He might even make it there tonight.
Same here, Bean. I’ve learned my lesson though. He’s in and he’s staying in
Baines should be a great option but I might wait until I wildcard for him… when I actually choose to wildcard remains to be seen.
Simmo, told you before, get the wc active.
elle – sorry missed that haha – so have you seen my team and actually advise it or?
From GW7, his fixtures look beautiful…not sure who else to replace Terry with though – Duff, Moore etc means Aguero is still possible in the future.
Atkinson, the chicken was banging on about Baines all week, looks like he was right.
For anybody who wants pointless stats about the ‘cruelty’ of FPL.
– Costa captain today has me ranked 95th.
– Guzan over Green has me 27th.
– Green over Guzan last week has me 6th.
– Playing Pieters last week has me 1st, with a lead of 6 pts.
– Playing Clyne in GW1 increases the lead to 14.
I could be FPL famous at the moment. The team is right but my choices aren’t.
From some of the tragic stories i’ve heard on here about benching Siggy, selling Costa, buying Sterling, some of you guys on here could probably be hitting 350 by now!
It’s true Bean… I worked out similar myself.
But what we have to realise is that everyone, even the team sitting at #1 overall, has made similar mistakes. Some more than others of course, but still, only a time traveller could truly take advantage!
Logic and careful planning always prevails over 38 weeks.
3 changes and I’d be first. Its such a weird thing to consider because usually i’m light years away from all the action.
Logic last year was have Suarez captain every week. Some guy managed to make the top 1000 without even owning Suarez last year. Unbelievable risks and slight stupidity prevailing 😉
Haha, keep up the good work mate. Costa captain each week makes sense now, even when yellow flagged, in fact this has proven to be beneficial for his points scoring! 😉
Despite his insane form I still have doubts over capping him this week.
Bean, your squad is right and the game is unpredictable. As you know. Take heart in your squad. I brought Chadli y’day and left him on the bench hahaha
There’s always one on your bench that ruins the gameweek.
Cleansheet away at Chelsea, brace from your 4 mil Burnley defender…you just never know whats gonna happen.
Would you guys transfer out mata for Di Maria ?
Would and have done already.
Hey guys I’m looking for some help. I want to do Mata to ADM but it leaves me 0.8m short. Any advice please?
Mata —–> Di Maria
Debuchy —–> Neil Taylor / 4.5m defender
I had 2 FTs last week smithy – nice feeling eh – makes things easy!
Mata out Di Maria in
Dubuchy out chambers in
Cheers guys both good calls. I was thinking Duff of Burnley but that maybe leaves my defends a bit week. Was thinking of ditching Terry but Debauchy is more urgent is suppose.
Smithy – debuchy out for Taylor and ur sorted
Yeah it’s seem a very feasible transfer cheers jamesimmo. Think il get that done tonight. Then look at downgrading Terry for Rooney to Aguero!
Wilson Away v QPR
Or
Taylor Home v Southampton ?
