Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 4 – Fantasy Premier League 2014/15
The deadline bell has rung…did you play your wildcard or have you decided to hold onto it a little longer? Some will be happy with their decision while others will castigate themselves! The first game-week after an international break always makes for fun and games as we have to deal with those ‘international injuries’. Costa is injured, or is he?! Ramsey is injured, or is he?! The game-week kicks off with Arsenal hosting City at lunchtime today and we wrap things up on Monday night with an equally glamourous tie as Hull ‘entertain’ West Ham. Oh and in between there’s the small matter of United potentially rolling out another three debutants.
Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.
Good luck for GW4 from all at FF247!
I held off doing WC last week even though there were doubts over Ramsey, Costa & Mata getting a game.
Have a few problems to deal with, IE Dummett & El Ahmadi are taking up space. Should I use my 1FT this week to fix one of them or do I need to look at a major change such as Mata to Fabregas?
Team:
Begovic (Myhill)
O’Shea, Chester, Ferdinand, (Hutton, Dummett)
Mata, Siggy, Sterling, Ramsey, (El Ahmadi)
Balotelli, Rooney, Costa
1.3mil in bank 1FT
Fabregas would be my priority here, probably for Mata.
Bundeena, seems we’re in a very similar boat – Also held off on moving out Costa, Ramsey and Mata and very pleased about it, and also have dead weight in the form of Bartley and Isgrove. Had to move on injured Debuchy though, and see ADM as a bigger priority than sorting out the bench players. In your case I think Fabregas is a bigger priority too, as NIN says.
I really like Mata, but I just don’t want to have to worry each week if he is going to get a game.
The others can wait until a WC next international break.
Hey blokes. How’d you GW go?
I think I would have been upset if Di Maria didn’t come through for me. I ended the week with 62 points. I gave Sterling the Captain band
.. Haven’t captained Costa yet, and I’m a massive Chelsea fan. Pretty sure Costa will be getting Captain every game for me now on (the new league Suarez) .
Thinking about getting Schneiderlin in for Sterling. Maybe in a week or two.
Makeya
Good score considering the circumstances, well done.
I wouldn’t take out Sterling at all, let alone for Schneiderlin. Did you have an other move lined up which you needed the extra cash for?
Another terrible week….with Sterling as Captain!!! FFS! And another loss on the Banterbury…….my season really needs to pick up! I was in two minds to capt Di Maria or Stirling………..you know the rest………….
ouch nath – completely understandable decision though mate and you certainly weren’t alone on the Sterling trade.
Morning Cookie!
56pts….and no one playing tonight, lots of red arrows
nath – 56pts is not the worst week and if that’s a nightmare week this season, you’ll rank brilliantly, trust me.
Bad weeks happen, good weeks happen….not like you scored 34pts….now chin up!
Yep, fair one.
GOOOOOOD MORNING FF247!
Happy Monday all, how are we this morning?
Morning Cookie,
I’m here, feeding a hungry little man and doing some homework on Champions League
“We have fixtures that are like a poisoned gift for us,” he added.
“Every time we play in the Champions League the next match we play is against Man City, against Arsenal, against Man United and against Liverpool. We have difficult weeks ahead of us.”
– Jose Mourinho.
Jose has started. Brilliant.
Got a fair point though
Yep, but I think it’s funny though.
If its not him, its Wenger about fixtures.
True mate, though I do agree with them to a large extent – not much help is given to our team in Europe re PL fixtures. Quite often in Spain they’d get an extra day one side or both side of the CL matches.
saying that Wenger and Mourinho, like Fergie would always find something to moan about. Still love Jose though, brilliant value for me and entertaining as long as you don’t take him too seriously!
Cookie,
Couldn’t agree more. The English teams collectively are season upon season at a huge disadvantage against their French/German/Spanish/Italian counterparts.
I’ve never seen Barcelona/Juve/Bayern have to play a lunchtime Saturday game after the CL. As you say, often these teams get to play on a Friday night before a big CL game – more particularly in the knock out stages whereas one of the “big four” are usually playing in a TV game at 4pm on a Sunday. So there is an obvious hindrance there.
TV money talks in England more than anywhere else.
Not a bad weekend considering I decided against having Costa in my WC squad. I think the blow was softened by Aguero, Adebayor, Di Maria, and Fabregas all pulling some points in.
Thing is, my decision against Costa was down to his injury. He’d had it the back end of last season at Atletico and I watched all of their games. He looked nothing like he did on Saturday, he doesn’t even look as though he’s been out of training. The only route I can see is losing Sterling and upgrading Adebayor, although Liverpool have great fixtures.
Thoughts?
Morning flingy,
Looks to me like Adebayor is the man to make way. I’d hold Welbeck (I assume you want that too!)
For me you either lose Sterling to bring him in (2 transfers)
or
Go uber-cheap in defence Clyne -> Hutton and Moreno -> Moore (3 transfers)
Cheers GP – first option looking most likely.
flingy,
Fair call although losing Sterling isn’t something I would be comfortable with. We are just spoiled for choice this season aren’t we?
Aye GP – I’m not really comfortable losing Sterling either, but I’m even more uncomfortable not having Costa. To be fair Liverpool look lost without Suarez, don’t see them getting top 4 once CL starts.
To be fairer Liverpool did not have Sturridge and Sterling. A bit of a rookie mistake by Rodgers in my books. Putting all the pressure on a new Balotelli and Lallana. From now on I do no think he will rest Sterling in that way. But I agree…a top 4 could be very difficult for them with CL. Season is long though and Spurs, United, Liverpool and Arsenal are competing for the 3rd and 4th. Gonna be good!
You might get “lucky” ans see that Aguero gets an injury in midweek. That would make things easier. But no matter what, Costa looks essential so Adebayor should surely make way. Your plan looks the best one Flingy.
Would you really want to lose Adebayor in front of this week’s game home to WBA?
I didn’t really want to lose Adebayor at all, brought him in for a reason and he got me an assist, however, I need Costa, basically forcing it. Ade + Sterling or Costa + Chadli? Chadli doesn’t look great, so another option could be Costa + Markovic – who’s game time is gradually increasing and I personally think he’s looked OK the past 2 games.
Flingy, I would have to disagree re Chadli, think he’s looked excellent so far and I would take him over Markovic in a heartbeat. All about opinions I guess.
So, for me, if you’re intent on getting Costa this week for Ade, I’d couple it up with getting Chadli too.
Cheers mate, I’ll have to take another look at Chadli then before making my decision. Tough call to lose Sterling, especially with their fixtures for a long run, I just think Costa can score a lot in that period regardless of who he’s playing.
With Debuchy picking up it seems quite a lengthy injury. Is Chambers a good choice again? I got rid of him 2 weeks ago but now am thinking of getting him back. Makes sense or is it a waste of FT?
I wouldn’t do it yet KFC – Arsenal have CL this week and Chambers could get crocked also
Very true Cookie. Just wondering on the long term-ish. I do not have Arsenal cover at the back but then again there are not essential. Just saw Chambers as a cheap entry to possible CS’s! Would make more sense to get him after the Chelski game if ever. A lot of things can happen by then! 😉
And……….what a wonderful Monday morning waking up to no trolls at all on United. My only negative comment about last night’s game: RVP’s performance. He should make way for Falcao and not Mata. At least to give him rest or something. He was useless and vs big teams his lack of tracking back will cost us!
Completely agree, though I guess he is easing Falcao in. It’ll take him a while to the Berbatov-type speed of the Frog league to the frenetic PL.
Not impressed with RVP at all – hopefully a week training together will boost him up – and them all – while others are playing in Europe.
On the other point, Chambers looks great value again! Think Debuchy has a scan today, so guess we should hear something from Wenger in front of their CL match.
Will keep an eye on Debuchy’s injury. And haha…the frog league! You must be full of it down there in Monaco. PSG is the only non frog in the pond. More like a shark. The rest…well..yeah…haha.
Am also hoping for a RVP revival but I fear his best days are behind him but he is too arrogant to see that. He would be a perfect super sub now. But…a 250 000 a week super sub is kinda expensive!
Honestly KFC it’s soooo dull – I’ve stopped going. I’ve never seen more than 2 goals a game except when they played the Super Cup down here. Even last season when they finished 2nd with Falcao, James etc it was dull. The only highlight is when they play Nice and it all kicks off, that’s more fun than the game.
RVP knows he has to up his game, Falcao will want to do well quickly, hopefully a bit of competition spurs them both on.
Cookie I have always followed Ligue 1 being french and all but..I admit…the level is really crap and when you have to see a Evian TG-Lorient game you might as well just watch paint dry or trees grow. The only okay-ish games are as you mentioned the local derbies. And PSG-OM. Bastia-Ajaccio (when both in Ligue 1..always fireworks on the pitch haha). The atmosphere in Monaco has to be close to inexistant..no wonder Falcao decided to leave. And now with the Russian sugar daddy pulling all the money from the club, a top 3 finish is unlikely so they will be back to the good old day of near anonymity!
Yeah completely agree mate, the atmosphere is rubbish and you spend half the time watching the fireworks on the port and the rest of the time watching the police put out the flares. That’s the flares the fans use, not Elle’s trousers :hippo:
The owner has a few issues, mainly to do with the threat of being extradited back to Russia so is pulling the cash as protest.
Cookie, leave my sense of fashion alone. :shake:
