Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 5 – Fantasy Premier League 2014/15

Photo 23-11-2013 11 44 40The deadline bell has rung and your decisions are now final! This could actually be a tough week for fantasy managers. A lot of the usual, ‘obvious’ candidates are away from home and even those that aren’t have difficult games on paper. Arsenal, Liverpool, Southampton, Man Utd and Chelsea are all on the road while Swansea and Man City are at home but are by no means guaranteed anything, facing Southampton and Chelsea respectively. QPR and Stoke kick us off at 12.45pm in the early Saturday game and even that ones hard to call given the inconsistencies of both. We then have five 3pm kick offs and the day is rounded off as West ham host Liverpool in the evening game at 5.30pm. Sunday sees Leicester vs Man Utd and Spurs vs West Brom, both at 1.30pm followed by two 4pm games as Everton host Palace and the big one of the weekend that sees Man City square up to Chelsea.

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck for GW5 from all at FF247!

    Evening all

Hope we all had good scores. Gutted I swapped my capt from sterling to costa at the last minute.

I’m thinking of upgrading Naismith. I know that they are different price brackets but who is the better choice

    Welbeck or ulloa

    Cheers

Fairly good GW (I think) with 65 points!

    Krul (Mannone)
Wilson Iva Moreno (Taylor & Moore)
Lamela Siggy Di Maria Sterling (Boyd)
    Costa Aguero Ulloa

Thinking of Lamela out for Tadic with my FT? Any early thoughts lads?

Evening all, missed all the games today as we’ve been out. What was the conclusion about Utd then? I’m thinking up top particularly. I’ve got Balo and my intention was him out for Rooney but from what I’m hearing and seeing above he played much deeper? How did Falcao do and would he be a preferable choice based on today’s game?

I haven’t seen either init, but I think Falcao (assuming he’ll always start) is a far far better, more attacking option, but perhaps a derby is what’s needed to get Balotelli all stirred up and firing again?

Evening chicken, by all accounts Di Maria is the only United must have, so you may want to look elsewhere.

Ok thanks, Falcao I shall look at then. Already got ADM thankfully so maybe looking elsewhere could be an option too.

Man U looked sound for the first hour, but evidently their midweek exertions took their toll after that and maybe they were also distracted by the prospect of more such exertions during the Capital One Cup this week.

Falcao? Fine goalscoring record, some doubts about how often he’ll start but hey – no European competitions, a goal and 4 assists today, can’t see him being dropped after that and he only costs 4.9m. Vardy, that is. And you could use the 6m difference to shore up your defence. You could buy Phil Jones for that, for example.

    Vaz Te -> Ulloa

Then, is Rooney -> Pelle worth a 4pt hit consdering he plays QPR at home? Plus i think their prices might change in opposite directions this week so team value is helped (as a side effect, i really expect Pelle to do well)

      jamesimmo says:

I’d say so. Or just Rooney —–> Pelle on a free transfer. I’ve got Tadic, and this QPR game is his last chance, if he doesn’t start turning performances into points like Pellè then he’s a goner.

      • Mr Bean says:

        James,

Ulloa is a move until GW 15 (or beyond) so it makes sense to gain the cash this week, plus a game against Palace who have conceded 10 already.

Pelle could end up being a 2 week punt and then becoming Welbeck/Aguero depending on their next 2 performances. However, i don’t like Rooneys role in the United team and can see Pelle exploding against QPR.

If i only make one move, I then have to play Davis or Naylor and i’m confident they are both 2 pointers at best.

        • jamesimmo says:

Go for both then. Ulloa has been very consistent and looks decent.

You reckon Naylor is a two pointer eh? I have him on my bench and the moment but was considering playing him over Duff… though, Swansea are outta sorts, so I’ll probably stick.

        • Mr Bean says:

Swansea are far from out of sorts. Bony just ruined the game against Soton, was one way traffic until then. Only person i could play Taylor ahead of is Baines and that would be a brave move.
