Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 6 – Fantasy Premier League 2014/15

Photo 23-11-2013 11 44 40The deadline bell has rung and your decisions are final – starting XI, captain and order of your subs has been decided and there ain’t no turning back. GW6 is a strange old week, it starts great with an exciting Saturday and slowly disintegrates to a potential bore-fest. However, fantasy points are available all the way through, so there’s enough action to keep us going. Just.
We kick off with the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Saturday lunchtime – anything to keep those scousers out of the pub before the game – sadly, they’ll probably do a Friday all-nighter instead, completely defeating the point of starting the game early, but whatever. Then at 3pm we have six matches – Chelsea host Villa, Palace welcome Leicester, Man City go to Hull, Man Utd take on West Ham, ‘Arry takes his Rangers back to one of his old haunts down on the South coast and Sunderland do battle with Swansea. Early evening, its derby no.2 as Arsenal take on Spurs at the Emirates, always one to look forward to. And that’s the fun really, though on Sunday Burnley go to WBA and if you still haven’t lapsed into a self-induced coma by Monday then Stoke vs Newcastle may just finish you off.

  1. Can anyone convince me NOT to buy Welbeck? I reckon you’ve got 10 minutes…

    • James- I want him aswell but pelle is on fire

      • I still have Tadic, so he and Pellè may be overkill?

        • It’s possible!! But they are linking well at the moment!! It’s a tough one, is it a short term move or long term? Just bear in mind wally is back in 2-3 weeks

        • Looking at my squad, I don’t think I’m going to wildcard next week, so I guess it’d be long term. Yep that’s true!

          So you reckon Welbeck could be rotated upon Wally’s return?

        • I honestly think wally will be up top once he’s gets going!!

        • P.S I was going to do pelle this week but Ramsey’s injury will force his transfer!!!

          That’s unlucky with Ramsey… who you thinking of getting?

        • Based on the upcoming fixtures probably Ozil/ silva!! However tadic is on my radar!!

        • Tadic will burst onto the scene eventually… or at least, that’s what I keep telling myself! laugh

          Özil is picking up but Silva would be my preference I think.

        • As they are facing villa I would agree but Ozil is looking good, with ramsey being out I can see him playing the No. 10 role more often!! I’m going to hold off until the champions league games are finished!! Hopefully Ramsey doesn’t drop to much in value!!

    • For starters, Welbeck has Chelsea next.

      Would be tough for him to beat Courtoius at the Bridge. He can try though.

      • I know… his fixtures after are awesome though.

        Could do Rooney —–> Dzeko —–> Welbeck but would that be a waste?

        • Depends on WC.

          If you are WCing after this GW, then a punt on Dzeko would be great. But if you are getting Welbeck for the long term, and are ready to settle for 2 pointer this GW, then maybe Welbeck is the right answer.

          But personally I wont get a player in my team who has an immediate tough fixture, that too an away fixture, and that too against the league leaders.

        • I may or may not WC next week, but as things stand, probably not.

          But what you and others have said is really putting me off Welbeck. Good fixtures does not guarantee points! So maybe not Welbeck.

          If I got Dzeko, and didn’t wildcard, do you think he’d need selling immediately? I really aren’t sure anymore.

    • James – why? 2 , decent, 2. Im thinking of selling

          in the last three games, its been 2, 12 and 2.

          Pelle must be up there if you dont have him already

        • Haha s’ok, yep, I have 3 options really:

          A – Welbeck
          B – Dzeko
          C – Pellè

          A and C have iffy fixtures this week. B has a good one.

          Then, after, A and C have good fixtures. B becomes a rotation risk.

          But B is in form. Hmmm… and I have Tadic which puts me off C really.

          Whadya reckon then: A, B or C?

        • if you have Tadic already, I’d go Dzeko. I might even go Welbeck to him this week

    • James (or anyone), how did he play this evening? I only caught the last 20.

      • Evening init! I wasn’t paying full attention, but he did an air shot at a crucial moment (which the Ox thankfully scored) and didn’t look to bright tbh. But like I said, didn’t see it all, and wouldn’t say he was poor.

        • Ok cool thanks, yeah I saw the goal! He’s my 3rd ‘rotating’ striker and I don’t fancy he’ll get much joy v Chelsea. May have a look at Ulloa this week.

        • Who does he rotate with..?

          I did briefly consider Ulloa but having 4-5 million left over in the bank just seems crazy! He could do well against Burnley though.

        • He rotates with whoever I replace him with! Just meant ideally I pick up the 3rd striker who has the best form / fixture each week.

        • Ohhh I see, well then, Ulloa could be the man!

      • He played quite well to be honest!! Just wished he had a bit more composure in front of goal!!

        • Said on the radio he was playing like a man possessed in the first half. It was Collymore though and he can get carried away!

      • Spurs dealt with him comfortably i thought. Says it all really 😉

  6. I really don’t want to WC but I don’t really see any way around it with Ramsey, Rooney, Bartley and Isgrove in my squad. Can anyone talk me out of it? Which transfer would you make? 1 FT and 0.0 in the bank. Will check back later smile

    • CC – wouldnt care re Isgrove so he is irrelevant. Bartley can also wait. So realistically you need a -4 so you dont need to wc if you dont want to

      • +1 an annoying but necessary hit is all it’ll take to fix this for now.
