Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 6 – Fantasy Premier League 2014/15

Photo 23-11-2013 11 44 40The deadline bell has rung and your decisions are final – starting XI, captain and order of your subs has been decided and there ain’t no turning back. GW6 is a strange old week, it starts great with an exciting Saturday and slowly disintegrates to a potential bore-fest. However, fantasy points are available all the way through, so there’s enough action to keep us going. Just.
We kick off with the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Saturday lunchtime – anything to keep those scousers out of the pub before the game – sadly, they’ll probably do a Friday all-nighter instead, completely defeating the point of starting the game early, but whatever. Then at 3pm we have six matches – Chelsea host Villa, Palace welcome Leicester, Man City go to Hull, Man Utd take on West Ham, ‘Arry takes his Rangers back to one of his old haunts down on the South coast and Sunderland do battle with Swansea. Early evening, its derby no.2 as Arsenal take on Spurs at the Emirates, always one to look forward to. And that’s the fun really, though on Sunday Burnley go to WBA and if you still haven’t lapsed into a self-induced coma by Monday then Stoke vs Newcastle may just finish you off.

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck for GW6 from all at FF247!

What would you guys do, when getting rid of Ramsey and Rooney (giving you £19.6m to spend)?

    1. Dzeko and Sterling
    2. Aguero and Chadli
    3. Aguero and Henderson
    4. Something else?

    Cheers!

      Sorry, current team is below…

      • inittowinit says:

Hey Swirly, sorry missed this. 1 or 2 for me mate. Aguero is a machine. Keeps breaking down like one though occasionally, mind. Sterling blanked today but has a good litlle run of fixtures ahead – WBA (h), QPR (a) and Hull (h). Chadli seems consistent if not explosive.

        • gkw says:

With Pool’s upcoming fixtures, it’s worth having Sterling or Stevie G (if not both) in your midfield. G may be past his prime in reality, but is still fpl gold.
Up front, why not get Pelle? Scores regularly, nailed on to start, no European fixtures, and still only 10% ownership. A steal at 7.8m, freeing up cash to strengthen elsewhere.

      Ruben says:

Dzeko has only scored 2 this season, both in this match against Hull. I’m not convinced just yet, even with the favourable fixtures ahead. I would go with Aguero for sure as he is always dangerous and can deliver points more regularly than Dzeko. Which second player to get is hard to say. I’d wait and see what other people think.

Should i go in now and transfer Rooney out before his price drops. For Aguero.
But in order to get Aguero i need to go Dier – Duff. Thoughts

I’ve done it again for you.
Last season I set a Banterbury League Record that never will be broken with a 13 match unbeaten run.
Well today and within this Matchweek my h2h score in League 1 stands.
    Power of Potty = 34 v – 86 = Peppy Guardirola
    My mind games crumbled them.

Guys, is it crazy to be thinking of getting Pelle in for Rooney even though I can afford Aguero and have no other City coverage? My other 2 forwards are Costa and Ulloa. Pelle gets 90 minutes a game, has no mid-week CL/Europa matches in which to get tired or injured, and has arguably a better schedule than Aguero does for the next 6 matches.

I should be happy that there’s a player doing well that’s not expensive I suppose, but for some reason I feel like he’s not a ‘premium’ striker just because of his price tag.

My front 7 looks like this:

    Sterling Siggy Fabregas Di Maria
    Rooney Costa Ulloa

If I saved that $ by going with Pelle instead of Aguero I suppose I could drop Siggy if he doesn’t start scoring some points soon and put a premium midfielder there. Hmmm…

      Ruben says:

An option could be to bring in Pelle for Rooney and Silva in for Siggy.

      Raziel says:

Siggy will score points again, you’ll bump your head moving him out. I’d do Rooney to Kun or in my case I swapped him in for Falcao. You already have Ulloa, both Ulloa and Pelle is a bit too much in all honesty.

Again, I’m speaking for myself. How I would manage it. Siggy had 2 really hard games versus Southampton and Chelsea, I don’t blame him. Geeezzzzzzz, someone is playing loud music. Aaah well.

As it stands now, my 4 midfield players, none of them got me points (Siggy actaully got the most with 3, haha). And I like my midfield with FAbregas-DiMaria-Siggy-Sterling.

      • Hello raz. It’s a good point you make my Dutch friend. My gut and plan has always been Augero. Did you hear about his injury apparently that’s why he went off? They smoking AND playing loud music?!

        • Raziel says:

Yeah, don’t live in the center of the city and the music shouldn’t be this loud at 1:30am, lol. Unusual for where I live. Anyway, doesn’t matter. Used to living above a bar/poolcenter so I will manage. 😉

Don’t know about Kun, wait and see I guess? Hmmm another good punt could also be Dzeko, he’s doing really good. There is only 1 type of striker like him and that’s well… him…

Kun and Jovetic styles are much more a like. Also, from what I’ve seen today, Silva and Dzeko have a tight relationship… Kun looked pissed and slow when Dzeko scored the 2-0. Pissed he didn’t get his second. 😉

      • Ruben says:

Raz, I am looking to bring in Silva. By looking at my team, what would be the best way to do that?

        • Ruben says:

I was thinking of Silva in for Di Maria, only from looking at everyone’s coming fixtures.

        • Raziel says:

That’s not a transfer I would make. The reason why I’m so stuck on keeping United attackers is because they have no midweek games (CL or EL) which really is an advantage. Look at Liverpool last season. Plus, I see you already have Kun.

Anyway, your plan good work out. But for now I’m keeping all the United coverage again. The more goals they concede the more they have to score (again, same scenario for Pool last season). :p

        • Ruben says:

          Oh alright, thank you mate!

      • RedVT says:

Thanks Raz, and congratulations on your rank. You’re killing it this season! smile

I’m not set on getting rid of Siggy by any means, just wondering what to do with the extra money I’d save by getting Pelle instead of Aguero. I have enough to do Rooney –> Aguero this week and Pieters –> Baines for GW8 as it is.

Another thought would be to get Pelle today as he’s going to rise by .2 this week I bet after today’s performance. Keep him for a couple of weeks and then get Kun after banking a little $. I grabbed Di Maria and Ulloa early last week and they both rose .2 for me.

        • Raziel says:

We’re sort of in the same both. I just tried to plan in Falcao and Baines. Baines also after GW7. Doing Terry to Moore now.

        • Raziel says:

Same both… should be same boat… hahaha… sounds a like but means something completely different. I always do this. Only when writing in English.

Hello Red, how’s your week going? I am having exactly the same dilemma as you. My front is the same (except welbeck instead of ulloa). You make an interesting point about siggy; imagine having Walcott instead when he’s fit? BUT this is Augero. He will go crazy soon but pelle is very consistent and it will also mean a player like baines could come in at the back. It’s a tricky one as it’s almost like because he’s not elite we feel we shouldn’t get him?!? What does your gut say?

      • RedVT says:

Hey NZ, excellent rank so far my friend – way to go! smile

I’ve actually budgeted enough money to do Rooney –> Aguero this week and Pieters –> Baines for GW8, which makes this an even tougher decision! Aguero is so dangerous but he also comes off early a lot and is SO prone to injury. He let me down last season several times and I almost vowed not to mess with him this year. I don’t know, I’m tempted to go for the form player who has good fixtures, plays 90 minutes every week, and has no CL/Europa games. At the very worst I could keep him for a few weeks and sell him on for a profit…

It’s a tough call though- Costa, Ulloa, AND Pelle feels like it’s a bit lightweight, but maybe price isn’t the only thing to be thinking about when considering a player’s value. What do you think??

        • Red, just checked your team out, it’s virtually exactly the same as mine!! Well I’m feeling the same as you; it’s augero or pelle/dzeko AND baines it’s just which will bring in the most points. I was impressed with baines today and he was like ivan, rampaging into the box. Whilst I do agree with your point about team value not being the most important thing it is still important and that 0.1 would be helpful. Do you sti have your WC available? I do and am thinking of pelle/baines in and them maybe WCing if/when I want augero. What’s your gut say pal? I also heard augero may have an injury and that’s why he went early.

        • Oh and don’t worry about the front 3 Red, if they are all firing who cares?

        • RedVT says:

Alex, I do still have my WC. So you’re right, we could grab Pelle for a couple of weeks and make a little $, and then get Aguero in if he hits top gear and hasn’t broken a fingernail by then. Raz made a great point about Falcao and United not having any CL/Europa matches to worry about, and it’s the same with Pelle.

Twice last season I planned and budgeted for weeks to get Aguero in and both times he got injured right away and it was all no naught. That’s what I fear I guess, injuries and limited game time. I’d love to find out more about this possible injury to Aguero from today, as that would make the choice much easier, ha!

        • RedVT says:

Unrelated, but did anyone see Ulloa play today? I’m at work and won’t be able to watch MOD until I get out of here in a few hours. Curious if he had a good game against Palace.

        • Red haha that was my thinking too! Raz also pointed out that he didn’t look intersted today and a little of the pace (but still manages an excellent goal!!) so that combined with a massive price, CL, and his injury history maybe pelle is the man. If you do it, I will!? Lol

        • RedVT says:

Haha, I’m in Alex!! He’s gonna go up in price tonight I think, so if I do it it’s going to be in the next hour or so! laugh

I’ve been watching the price change sites more closely for the past couple of weeks and FISO crack the code has been pretty accurate with price rises, not so much with falls.

        • Red, I was going to ask you about that, so fiso is the go? Have you hit the button?

Whazzzzzzzaaaaaaaaaaaaa Peepz. Life looking good. Seems I moved up 2k places and I’m 1319 of the world. Which is really awesome. Number 9 of my country, the Netherlands. Number 1 in my Dutch Private League. All awesome. laugh

Enough happy talk. You guys reckon Moore (Leicester) will keep his spot? I like the fixtures that are listed for Leicester but they have conceded 10 goals already. Opinion/advise is welcome.

Was planning to do Terry to Moore this GW and maybe Pieters/Chambers to Baines for GW8.
