Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 6 – Fantasy Premier League 2014/15
The deadline bell has rung and your decisions are final – starting XI, captain and order of your subs has been decided and there ain’t no turning back. GW6 is a strange old week, it starts great with an exciting Saturday and slowly disintegrates to a potential bore-fest. However, fantasy points are available all the way through, so there’s enough action to keep us going. Just.
We kick off with the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Saturday lunchtime – anything to keep those scousers out of the pub before the game – sadly, they’ll probably do a Friday all-nighter instead, completely defeating the point of starting the game early, but whatever. Then at 3pm we have six matches – Chelsea host Villa, Palace welcome Leicester, Man City go to Hull, Man Utd take on West Ham, ‘Arry takes his Rangers back to one of his old haunts down on the South coast and Sunderland do battle with Swansea. Early evening, its derby no.2 as Arsenal take on Spurs at the Emirates, always one to look forward to. And that’s the fun really, though on Sunday Burnley go to WBA and if you still haven’t lapsed into a self-induced coma by Monday then Stoke vs Newcastle may just finish you off.
Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.
Good luck for GW6 from all at FF247!
Morning all
How everybody doing I am on 47 points with Pieters left to play lot off green arrows so I am happy
I need to get Rooney and Ramsey out and I am thinking about Falcao and Silva
What do you guys say about that move ?
Here is my team and I have 1 FT and 0.9 in the bank
Jon9898.
Gutted you beat me in the Bants H2H this week, Bringing in Bertrund & Captaining Pelle killed me..
Well done chap.
You’ve got lots of options & cash to spend replacing Rambo & Rooney,
I’d be looking at Aguero personally.
Why not take a few hits so we can catch you in the league…..lol
Thanks mate, captaining Pelle sure paid off this gw . I am taking my first hit this season to sort out this Rooney – Ramsey dilemma.
The only thing I am thinking about is should I do it today or wait until after CL games this week
Jon.
Potential price rises vs potential injuries..?
Do it now..
Hopefully they’ll get injured & you’ll have to take more hits..!
Morning! To take our minds of tricky transfer decisions and (temporary?) sets of red arrows, how about we look ahead, and think about the GW7 captaincy?
1) Sterling vs WBA (H)
2) Dzeko / Aguero vs Villa (A)
3) Costa vs Arsenal (H)
4) Siggy vs Newcastle (H)
5) …any other suggestions?
The 4 that I’ve listed are in my current order of preference. I just think Sterling has been playing very well, is at home to weak opposition AND so far so scored on every ‘odd’ gameweek which suggests he’s due another good week!
My gut says:
1. Sterling
2. Aguero
3. Siggy
Obviously a lot of people will still pick Costa because of his consistency.
Yeah, same mate, except I’m poor and have gone with Dzeko.
Gut says Sterling. Head says Dzeko.
Which would you obey?
Well looking at this week’s results I’d go with my gut. Using my brain got me a wopping 38 points with 2 players left to play. I guess the only good thing is that most people fell with me.
It can go both ways. Still 3 better than me this week!
I just noticed that you started this gameweek: have you only just discovered FPL for he first time or did you just forget?
I play Fantasy football NFL so I was like. I wonder if there’s something like this for football. So I googled it. This is my first week ever. So I’m new to it but I know what I’m doing.
wondered*
Ah right cool, welcome to the site.
Thank you!
Simmo, Sterling was utter crap yesterday by the way, do you think he may get a rest against so called weak opposition, especially after CL in midweek ?
Was he elle? I heard people raving about his performance on here during the game… hmm, and I forgot about the whole bib-theory / rest horrors, I’ve already capped him once when he came on for a 1 pointer!
I don’t think he’ll get rested but perhaps Dzeko would be safer.
The good part is that we don’t have to decide yet.
Simmo, don’t remember him pasting Hibbert or Baines to be honest and when he passed the ball he more often than not gave it to a blue shirt.
Elleffcee,
I watched the game live and have just seen it again on MOTD. Sterling always looked threatening on the ball, put in a few good crosses and although he didn’t try to go down the line enough, he skinned Hibbert with ease towards the end and was only denied an assist by the bar.
With Sturridge back soon, he will be back in the points.
Agree about his passing though…the backpass against Boro midweek is a perfect example of that, Definitely a better player when he’s running at defenders, but he was far from ‘utter crap’ yesterday.
The rest of the team messed it up for Sterling. They said Balo had a great game, yeah he worked his ass off for the team but he kept missing chances. Suarez would’ve scored 3 goals yesterday, Balo got nothing.
I’m going with aguero
Nice Mitro! If I had him, then it wouldn’t require any further thought. Think ima apply this outlook and chance Dzeko as I prefer capping forwards.
Saying that silva could be a good choice!!
Will Jovetic get back into the City side next week (provided he has recovered)? Thinking about bringing in Dzeko for Welbeck but not sure of gametime…
If fit, then the general consensus is that Jovetic would start from the bench, so Dzeko should be fine for this week. It may be short term but I bought him last night regardless. Looks good for points next weekend.
Jamesimmo,
Yeah I was coming to the same conclusion..would give me a captain I would feel confident in selecting too!
Another poor week from me. 1FT, 1.1 in the bank.
I was thinking Balotelli in for Rooney. Is that ok?
What should I do with Ramsey? Options are: Di Maria, Silva, Henderson, keep Ramsey.
Balotelli will be cap if I bring him in.
EBC – Balotelli has not shown his worth in FPL yet – and also, a lesson I’ve learnt so far is, never bench Clyne. He got a 1 pointer this weekend, but that was his first time, and in the most unlikely of fixtures.
True but he has very good fixtures. I’d go Sturridge if I knew he was back but might be a week too early.
Any other ideas? (I don’t want Ulloa)
Yeah, with Rooney and Ramsey I’d be tempted to get in Agüero and ______ but not sure how much you’ll have for the mid.
I could get Aguero and Henderson.
Not a bad shout that.
Hello all, team below. Thinking about removing Ramsey and Naismith for Chadli and Dzeko? Thoughts? Dzeko may be a risk with Jovetic returning so any other suggestions? Pelle?
Thanks
Pelle and Henderson
I dont see Henderson as a very good option for scoring points, and I already have Sterling and dont want 2 Liverpool mids as they arent doing well as it is. Think I’m going Pelle and Chadli
Everyone is bringing in Dzeko. I personally am not seeing a big point scorer in him just yet. 2 goals so far this season, both netted this weekend. Not very consistent. Also his first 90 minute match of the season. So even with the very favourable fixtures ahead I won’t be bringing him into my team. I might be alone on this, but yeah.
Pellé is very consistent and has some nice fixtures coming.
