Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 6 – Fantasy Premier League 2014/15
The deadline bell has rung and your decisions are final – starting XI, captain and order of your subs has been decided and there ain’t no turning back. GW6 is a strange old week, it starts great with an exciting Saturday and slowly disintegrates to a potential bore-fest. However, fantasy points are available all the way through, so there’s enough action to keep us going. Just.
We kick off with the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Saturday lunchtime – anything to keep those scousers out of the pub before the game – sadly, they’ll probably do a Friday all-nighter instead, completely defeating the point of starting the game early, but whatever. Then at 3pm we have six matches – Chelsea host Villa, Palace welcome Leicester, Man City go to Hull, Man Utd take on West Ham, ‘Arry takes his Rangers back to one of his old haunts down on the South coast and Sunderland do battle with Swansea. Early evening, its derby no.2 as Arsenal take on Spurs at the Emirates, always one to look forward to. And that’s the fun really, though on Sunday Burnley go to WBA and if you still haven’t lapsed into a self-induced coma by Monday then Stoke vs Newcastle may just finish you off.
Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.
Good luck for GW6 from all at FF247!
Goodie, Burnley CS gone, now Burnley has to come. It’s like they play every match not to concede, lmao. Not the way to go. I’m guessing it will be 3-1 or 4-1 before the last whistle.
Oi, just noticed Rooney is suspended for 3 matches? He will miss the Chelsea game? What a dumb… ….
Yes for Burnley that is the way to go. If Burnley were to try and score goals, they’d leave more open space in the back, which would tare them completely apart. They’d lose by 3-5 goals every game.
Raz, considering that their best strikers are injured and that they can’t afford replacements, playing for 0-0s is fair enough. Blame the way the finances are skewed against promoted clubs. If I ran the Premier League, I’d set aside 20m of TV money to give to each of the promoted clubs as soon as they go up, so they can buy one or two top players to even out the competition.
Shrugs, the Championship still gets more money to spend than the Eredivisie (meaning teams like Ajax/PSV). It’s all about what you do with the material you do have.
As for fairplay it doesn’t exist. Think the EPL spend over 1 billion this transfermarket? Think the Eredivisie was on 20 or 30 mil (all the teams :p).
Championship spend 100mil, I think. Which is a lot for a second division.
Well the thing is that (obviously) Eredivisie teams don’t get promoted/transferred to the Premier League so they don’t have to try to compete every week against clubs that have 10 times as much money as them. I agree it’s all unfair financially, I was just talking about the Premier League and how they could avoid 2nd-rate matches like this because you really can’t blame Burnley for having a 2nd-rate squad. If I ran Uefa or FIFA I’d be far more radical
Afternoon peeps, i have a front line of Costa, Pelle + Rooney, when i transfer Rooney out i will have 10.6mill to spend for a replacement, who would you get ? My midfield is Fabregas, ADM, Sterling, Siggy + Boyd, cheers.
Too bad you’re 0.3m short of buying Falcao (that’s what I did). Lol you’d have the same team as me if you did that. Anyway. Fixture wise, Dzeko is a decent punt. Think he could do well.
Afternoon Raz, mmmmm, Falcao plays Everton, who usually do well at Old Trafford. As for Dzeko, Villa haven’t been to bad at home overall.
Ummm. That’s not how I see it Elle. Everton have a game on Thursday, European game. United will be fresh and at home. Both teams have conceded a lot of goals and I don’t see a CS that game. 😉
Plus, Falcao will be crazy hungry. He was really pissed LvG took him off, he felt he could do more. Which is a very positive sign.
So fresh United at home versus a team that has to visit Russia, Krasnodar. 😉
Also, I am curious how United will look without Rooney. Mata will be hungry, Falcao will be hungry. Damn, that’s one hungry team. RvP is cap so he will want to help the team instead of scoring himself, he will focus on assisting Falcao. W00t, w00t. Falcao hattrick in the making.
Afternoon elle. Lukaku or Dzeko, for me.
Ok, saw 5 minutes of the Burnley match. That’s enough. IT HURTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LMAO.
I predicted 4-1. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BURNLEY! FFS!
And that note, from what I’ve seen it’s pretty impossible for them to score a goal… period. Let alone in 2 minutes. :p
I took a 8 point hit this week and ended up on 39 points .
Ant
Just one of those weeks I guess. Is anyone doing well at the moment? I’m on 35 and am looking at my team and it doesn’t even look that much wrong with it.
Some weeks that just happens. In GW4 I got a poor score (2m+ ranking) right after playing my WC so wasn’t very happy but hey the new-look team’s been ok since then and this GW they’ve scored me 57 so far. It’s a marathon not a sprint, and you can’t help the occasional stumble.
Afternoon all.
Hope everyone has had a good scoring week. Glad I didn’t take that hit to bring in duff!
I’ve had enough of clichy with city not keeping CS and him being probe to rotation so was you to down him to free up some funds.
Any suggestions for a 4.5 defender?
Already have N Taylor. Was thinking about PVA
cheers
Hammers
I’d say pva or chambers after the Chelsea game, arsenal have decent fixtures for about a month
van Aanholt or one of the Leicester defenders, for me. Next gwk is looking like a banker CS for Leicester so i think that would sway me. 5 blanks on the trot now for Burnley.
Cheers guys.
Yeah I do like to look of chambers but they aren’t tight at the back either. Especially with the recent injuries
Leicester have got pretty good fixtures so might go that route
I ended with 44 points. I’m fairly happy since Wisdom saved my ass in the end. My opponent ended 7 points behind with 37.
