Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 7 – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 5GW7 is live! Another lunch time kick-off to get us going. The Citizens will be looking for someone to take it out on after their shocking loss last week to the Hammers. Lucky them because usually nothing makes a Pelligrini led side feel better than an encounter with Spurs. In the last four EPL fixtures between the two, City has outscored them 16-2, yowzers! After City has had Spurs for lunch we have six 3pm fixtures. Leicester tangle with Arsenal in what is a sure to be a display of great attacking talent…all wearing blue. Liverpool host the Villians in what could be a win or get sacked affair for Brendan Rodgers. In other action Sunderland travel to Old Trafford for a spanking, Saints battle with Swans in what looks to be an up and down affair. Relegation placed Stoke City takes on Bournemouth and the massive Wilson contingent. We also see 3rd place West Ham and the Payet lovers take on the Canaries in a game that has goals and plenty of them written all over it. In the last game of the day Newcastle see the resurgent Chelsea ( Thanks Wenger ) side come in for a visit and 3 easy points.

On Sunday we only have one fixture. As Watford takes on Crystal Palace in a game that will only see a few people perk up considering the ownership levels.

Monday we see the game-week off, with the forever exciting Baggies squaring off against Naismith and ten no-names.

Don’t forget to also share any experiences if you are participating in any or several of the FanTeam.com leagues. Remember scores update in real time, so don’t be shy and let us know how much you are in line to win.

Quick attempt at a wildcard team? Is it worth going for it or just doing a hit.

    MOTD FPL Watch:

    Leicester vs Arsenal:
    – Leicester: Vardy producing the goods for the fifth week in a row. Mahrez was very good again and unlucky not to take home some fantasy points also. Avoid defensively but double attacking coverage in the form Mahrez and Vardy could become a common and successful trend. Anyone wild-carding and in need of a 4.5m midfielder, Danny Drinkwater with 3 assists in as many games should be on your watchlist as he has also started all matches to date.
    – Arsenal: Back to the Arsenal we know in both terms of attacking and defending. Sanchez, Sanchez and Sanchez covers it all really. Assists from both full backs is also very promising as if Arsene wants his boys to play like this for the rest of the season they will eventually keep a few clean sheets as while bombing forward to pick up the odd assist too.

    Spurs vs City:
    – Spurs: Having only conceded 2 goals in their last 5 games and with him being a big threat in City’s box today Toby at 5m looks a steal in their defence. If if if Eric Lamela can firstly nail down a starters spot and also produce the goods and look as dangerous as he did today then at 6.8m he’ll find himself being the 4th or 5th (3-5-2) midfielder of choice with some. Harry Kane finally got off the mark this season but at over 9m he’ll surely have to show signs of last years form before most managers consider him yet.
    – City: Two loses on the trot has slowed down the City hype train but they still posses some FPL gold. Kun is Kun and as long as he stays fit he’ll get back along the goals but people may start to look at KDB as their City attacking coverage and for good reason, the 5% of managers who currently own him are going to be joined by many more over the next few days. Defensively the next two games ‘should’ result in two clean sheets with Joe Hart being back in for the nervous Willy to give their defence a solid base to go off.

    Newcastle vs Chelsea:
    – Newcastle: Just to get it out of the way, defensively, no! People will find it hard also to give one of their front 8 spots to a Toon player but with decent fixtures on the horizon after City next weekend, Wijnaldum (6.8m) similarly to Lamela may be worth considering for a 4th/5th midfielder if he was to become a regular among the points.
    – Chelsea: Begovic at 5m looks a good way into Chelsea’s defence but on current form would you want one of their back line? In the last 3 games all that has come from Chelsea’s main attacking threats (Hazard & Pedro) is 1 goal and an assist, both from Hazard. However, with favorable fixtures ahead it would take a brave manager to go without one of these two.

    Liverpool vs Villa:
    – Liverpool: Sturridge getting back among the goals and also 90 minutes under his belt may see him being a popular transfer in for Aguero during the week. With two cool finishes (from Sturridge) and with Coutinho in the hole behind, Liverpool’s attacking players could again become very valuable. Defensively conceding 9 in their last 4 isn’t good enough for a team with top 4 aspirations but Moreno (4.7m) playing OOP at left wing back has landed on my watch list with attacking returns to be more likely than clean sheets.
    – Villa: Defensively again like Liverpool have conceded 9 in their last 4 games and with tough games on the horizon getting a Villa defender in wouldn’t be the greatest idea whereas getting one out many very well be. Gestede has scored 3 in his last two starts (League Cup included) and at 5.8m could be a good replacement for Wilson in a rotational role. Again with a look at 4.5m midfielders Westwood who is on corners may be worth putting in if Gestedes form continues as he looks unplayable in the air which could result in the odd assist.

    United vs Sunderland:
    – United: Martial produced again and still seems to be a popular pick but Mata may become even more popular especially if people opt for a 3-5-2 as he looks value for money at 8.6m as he has only blanked in 2/7 (not in the last 4) game weeks. There’s no doubting United’s next 4 games are tough but as long as Rojo is out Valencia at 5.2m is the cheapest route in a United defense that has looked solid this season. De Gea (5.4m) as a season ‘keeper keeper’ also looks a good bet as if he doesn’t keep a clean sheet he makes plenty of saves to try and make it up to his fantasy owners.
    – Sunderland: Bottom of the table for a very good reason, avoid indefinitely!

    West Ham vs Norwich:
    – West Ham: Payet!! If you cant fit him in (do fit him in!) then Sakho would be a solid 3rd striker. Cresswell has been in fine form but many be too pricey for some at 5.6m whereas Adrian (5m) would be a good bet as a season ‘keeper keeper’ as well.
    – Norwich: Hoolahan has 5 assists and a goal in the 6 games he has played and with him being only 5.1m the Irishman may find himself representing many more managers in the current weeks if his creative returns continue. No clean sheets in 7 wouldn’t see many rushing to get a Norwich defender in and for good reason when you consider their next set of fixtures too.

    Saints vs Swansea:
    – Saints: The late failings of a clean sheet would have disappointed many and with defensively difficult fixtures coming up it may be a good reason to look else for the time being. At the other end of the pitch it couldn’t be more different, Mane, Tadic and Pelle will all appeal differently to different managers and in current form it would be naive to completely over look getting one of these in.
    – Swansea: With no win in their last 3 and blanks from Gomis and Ayew in these matches many managers have been left frustrated with their Welsh returns. With other form teams having other form players (too many to list) Ayew and Gomis will continue to make way over the coming week. Defensively 2 clean sheets from 7 with no attacking returns at 5m a pop for a Swansea defender isn’t a great return and if like Ayew and Gomis you have one of these defenders you may need to keep a close eye on your price change webpage of choice as they too are likely to be shipped out too.

    Stoke vs B’mouth:
    – Stoke: Walters with 2 in 2 and Villa up next could be a good one week punt for managers looking to wild card over the international break. No defensive returns in 7 isn’t very appealing but with Butland continuing to pick up save points he may worth a look at with a few weaker teams to play in the coming weeks.
    – B’mouth: Wilsonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn’s injury will throw a spanner in a lot of peoples works and Ritchie at 5.7m may become their most viable attacking option. Clean sheets may still be on the cards with a few tasty home games to come for a team that will need to be even tighter with their main striker likely to be out for quite some time.

    * I enjoy doing this type of stuff but can’t say I’ll be able to keep it up every week with other commitments but when possible (no work, girlfriend, nights out etc) keeping me away from MOTD I will try put this together as much as I can. Hope some find this helpful*

I know it’s early for a transfer, but Wilson will be dropping. So my two choices are:
    1. hold off and lose money on him
    2. make an early transfer, understanding that I may need to take a hit if someone else gets hurt midweek
    Thoughts?

Or will Wilson’s price be protected because he’s flagged?

      Andy says:

I’d wait till after the CL games before making any moves, I don’t think he’ll be protected and he will likely fall before next week but it’s not worth the early transfer to make a point 1 profit when for you to actually lose money on Wilson he’d have to fall by .3. (You bought him for 5.8 and he’s now valued at 6.)

      • Pancho says:

Thanks for the info Andy! I’m nervous to lose any value because I feel I need more investment in defense and don’t have any extra. Also feeling like I need to be rid of Wilson and Gomis as they’re both falling and Gomis hasn’t been producing. Thinking of resisting the urge to take a hit and just going Wilson -> Ighalo. Not super excited about it and may do Wilson & Gomis -> Vardy & Berahino.

        • Andy says:

I’d stick with just losing Wilson for this GW , Gomis’s place might be under threat for next week though as he was hooked at half time against the saints, I’d leave that one till after managers presser’s at least though.

Thinking of a -4 for Wilson & Gomis -> Berahino & Vardy. Thoughts?
(I wouldn’t do until assessing Berahino after WBA game)
