Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 9 – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 8GW9 is live! The International break is over and what better way to celebrate it than a Europa derby. That’s right perennial European patsies get us going with a lunch time affair as Klopp makes his debut vs a Spurs side who are lurking right outside their coveted Europa qualifying spot. We follow the Normal One’s debut with six 3pm fixtures. The “Special One” Sherwood takes on Average Jose at Stamford Bridge, we also see future English manager Pardew play host to the Hammers. In other action the Toffees look to continue where Arsenal left off as they play host to the recently exposed Manchester “Milli Vanilli” United. The Cherries look to take advantage of a weakened City at the Ethiad, while Raineri continues to f**k with us all with his team sheets as they visit Southampton and the New Giroud, Graziano Pelle. In the last of the 3pm games Big Sam and his latest chewing gum will look to take advantage of a West Brom side who has been leaking in goals recently. We finish our Saturday off with the Gooners in all their early season glory looking to continue their great domestic run versus Watford before they embarrass themselves in the Champions League again.

On Sunday we have one fixture…sort of. The Canaries visit Newcastle in a game that will mostly be ignored by all, and should be.

Monday sees the end of the game-week when the Swans (winless in last 4) look to get back on track against a Stoke side who, after going winless in their first six, have now won their last two.

Don’t forget to also share any experiences if you are participating in any or several of the FanTeam.com leagues. Remember scores update in real time, so don’t be shy and let us know how much you are in line to win.

Does anyone know what Mourinho means when he says Hazard will remain on the bench until “he comes in our direction”? What’s that all about??

    • 85.1

I don’t usually side with Mourinho, but let’s face it… Hazard has been an advert for Walking Football this season. Mou is probably asking him to put tackles in and chase down lost causes near the corner flag.

      • RedVT says:

Thanks Machos, that makes sense. I just saw the short quote on Ben Dinnery’s Twitter page, haven’t seen or read the whole interview. Hazard may be in trouble, Mourinho can be pretty brutal to players that get on his wrong side.

      The B says:

I think he is not able to track balls and defend like Mou wants the team too, which is probably the reason why Hazard was benched. Just a reality check for Hazard, that the team can do good even without him.

But honestly, i thought Pedro was worse than Hazard last night, so dont know why Mou said Hazard needs to work like Pedro and Willian to earn back his place.

    MattX says:

Evening lads, I need to get rid of Hazard!! Only problem is I’ve two lads red flagged and I’m in two minds because I don’t want to make an early transfer incase someone gets injured midweek but I also don’t want to have price drops from Haz. What do you think I should do??

      EBC says:

I’m in a similar position, I’m bringing Sanchez in for Hazard tonight.

Hazard out is a must imo so I’m happy to take the risk of injuries. Your 3 defenders are fine so could wait until next week, but if you’re wanting to improve it then Gomez out towards the end of the week (Bellerin / Evans / Moreno / Alderwiereld all options).

      • EBC says:

Just noticed you have Dawson, ignore my mention of Evans in my last post.

      • MattX says:

Ye I’m thinking of Haz to Sanchez too but do you think there’s anyone else just don’t want to have the same as everyone else?? If there isn’t then ill just bring in Sanchez.

That sounds good ill see how the mood takes me at the end of the week but Haz is a must to go.

        • EBC says:

After this week Barkley & Mata look like good differentials. Any Man City mid being the other obvious alternative.

        • MattX says:

Hmm well I already have Sterling and I think he could be good with Kun out. I’ve narrowed it down to either Barkley or Sanchez based on fixtures. Just need to decide on which one now.

        • EBC says:

I’m going Sanchez on the basis he’ll probably ‘bandwagon’ and it’ll be easy to get Barkley in next week (for Wanyama for example).

        • inittowinit says:

Given that choice it’s Sanchez every day of the week and twice on a Sunday surely Matt?!

        • MattX says:

EBC- That would be good but then I already have 3 strikers so I’d either have a good striker or good mid on my bench which is kind of pointless.

Init- ye that’s what my head is telling me but I also want a differential haha 😛 I think I just need to cop on and get Sanchez don’t I? smile

        • PeterPan says:

          Hazard to Sanchez
          Wanyama to KdB
          Gomis to Ighalo?
use the spare cash on Gomez to ?

        • MattX says:

Cheers PP. They are some credible moves but don’t really want to take too many hits and don’t know about playing my WC yet. Also will want to bring Kun back in when he returns,

        • PeterPan says:

          Just some ideas MattX smile
Yeah also want to be able to get Kun back without taking hits… but cannot sit with so much in my bank haha
Think bringing in Silva the following GW (if he is fit) will lesson the blow when looking at bringing Kun back.

        • MattX says:

Ye I might just do Hazard to Sanchez tonight and see what happens from there.

        • PeterPan says:

          Yeah seems right.
Then following GW Gomez to Galloway/Souare (Kolarov should be back)
and the bank should be enough for Gomis to Kun when his back

        • MattX says:

Exactly mate. I’m really liking Souare so he would be a good replacement for Gomez.

        • PeterPan says:

          Know when Ward is back?

        • MattX says:

          Haven’t the foggiest mate

    jamesimmo says:

    Evening… 50 (-4) here.

Really need to get Vardy in: would you kick Ighalo or Martial out?

    • 87.1
      PeterPan says:

      James,
Its very hard to ignore 9 goals in 9 games… and the question is “How long can he keep it on for?”
I would like to get him in my team (probably for Ighalo) but need to sort out my defense first sad
Also with Mahrez I dont want to double up on LEI attack… but again, they just cant stop scoring and have nice fixtures coming up…

      • jamesimmo says:

PP, yeah doubling up isn’t ideal, but everyone has Mahrez (and most have Vardy now!) so that’s probably not a huge issue! His form is too good as you say… my defence is crap too but Simpson getting starts for Leicester helps me there somewhat.

        • PeterPan says:

          James,
Im sitting with Gomez and Kolarov… so sorting Gomez out this GW.
But have a big bank balance and dont like that! Might look to see if Silva is back the following GW and get him in… play 352 and bench Ighalo mainly…
But again Vardy is very tempting

    • 87.2
      Titleastic says:

Have you got a strong 5th mid? If so swap with Martial and bench Ighalo most weeks. If not then sell Ighalo for 343. Have you got a preference for 352 or 343?

      • jamesimmo says:

Titleist, nah my 5th is Wanyama, benching Ighalo would make me feel uncomfortable so I think you’ve helped me realise which to sell there! Cheers. Nothing against the 3-5-2 though; did it for quite a while at the start of last season with Tadic and Siggy as 4th and 5th which worked well.

    • 87.3
      RedVT says:

Hey james, how’s it going? If it were me I think I’d hang on to Ighalo over Martial. Ighalo always looks a threat to score and he’s cheap as chips. Watford have some decent matches coming up and he seems to do even better away from home.

Probably not too much between them tbh, but Ighalo gives you 3.1 to spend elsewhere so that may be handy as well.

      • jamesimmo says:

Hey there Red, really good thanks, having a class time in Manchester! How are you?

Thanks for your input… with Aguero gone the cash would just be burning a hole in my pocket! He does have some nice fixtures though. I’m just not sure if Watford score enough.

        • RedVT says:

I’m well mate, thanks. Glad to hear you’re enjoying yourself at University and that you’ve still got enough time to keep up your team!

Yeah, Ighalo’s an ideal 3rd forward or 1st sub in a 3-5-2 that scores points. I brought him in last week and he got me 9 points right off the bat. Everything is kinda weird this year as there are so many budget players performing well that it’s pretty easy to put a strong side together with fairly inexpensive players. Most season’s I’m scrimping for .1 and .2 just to make things work but this year I’m flush!

I have to get used to the idea that more expensive doesn’t necessarily mean better- and that’s hard to do for some reason!

        • EBC says:

Man Utd fixtures are brilliant after the Man City game. Ighalo is alright but I’d look at Watford and never be confident in them scoring so I’d ditch him.

With everyone having spare cash (and few premium players to buy) I think a good front 8 is an option – most weeks there will be an obvious selection for someone to sit out and there’s always the AOA chip if everyone has a great fixture.

        • RedVT says:

The crazy thing is Ighalo sits in 4th place overall for strikers and has more points than Aguero, Rooney, or Costa. Not saying he’s the best player in the league, but he’s a great value. If Martial does outscore him by the end of the season, I don’t think it’ll be by much.

  4. 88
    PeterPan says:

50 for me this GW, all done and dusted.
Quickly… need to ship Gomez out tonight before he drops.
4.5m def? Galloway seems safe? Yes Arsenal away next GW but some nice fixtures after that… when is Baines back?
    Or Souare?
Else who else? Have Kolarov, Martin, Francis, Gomez and J.Evans in defense and Cech in goal

  5. 89
    PeterPan says:

Anyone know when Ward is back?

    OriginalRambo says:

Today has finally pushed me over the edge and my WC is active!

    Begovic / Elliot
    Bellerin / Rojo / Walker / Moreno / Galloway
    Sanchez / KDB / Mata / Payet / Watson
    Pelle / Bony / Vardy

Could go cheaper in defence and upgrade Watson but anyone at the level of Hoolahan or above would cause a selection headache every other week and from past experiences I can never pick the correct starter. Also have Sterling in for Mata atm hoping he’ll rise by 0.2m this GW, cant really see anyone outside of this team doing so.

Main questions are: Hennessey or Elliot? Walker or Cedric? Best 4.3m to have?
