Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1
And we are off!! Another season of bitter FPL disappointment for most gets rolling when Leicester travels to Old Trafford to take on Jose’s happy warriors. That Friday night fixture is followed by six more on Saturday.
A lunch time affair sees Newcastle and Spurs face off in the battle of who spent the least this transfer window. That is followed by The Cherries vs newcomers Cardiff. Fulham who is also recently promoted, tangle with Palace, Huddersfield plays host to Sarri-ball, Watford dukes it out with Brighton and in the late game we get a first look at the much talked about Wolves side when they face off vs Everton.
Sunday brings us the last three fixtures. Liverpool begin what promises to be an exciting season that is likely to end the same as most, not good enough to win anything. They will take on a new look Hammers team, that 1:30 game is accompanied by a match only a mother could love when Saints take on Burnley. The gameweek is closed out by the best game on paper. When the champions travel to the Emirates to clash with the Wenger-less Gunners.

84 points after bonus! First time in 7 years of fpl that i’m not reaching for that wildcard after gw1!
Very nice mate.
Nice m8 good luck in the weeks ahead
Thanks! You too.
You will soon. Not a sustainable formation imo.
Why would it not be sustainable?
Looks like a good formation to me.
Premium defenders outscore similar priced mids season after season
Maybe over the season they do but the trick is to pick out the best players over shorter periods. Doing that with defenders is a lot harder than with mids/strikers imo.
Apparently looks like (Sane/Sterling) – (Aguero/Jesus) – (Mahrez/Bilva) and (Gundogan/Dilva) – thats how PEP will rotate…KDB probably will get occasional rest based on scoreline.
Mahrez with B.silva?. B.Silva played in midfield didn’t he?.
If KDB starts (which is likely and may not play the full match), then I think either Mahrez or Gundogan will be sacrificed. PEP would like to bring Sterling/KDB to 100% as quickly as possible….Sterling got nearly full match today….KDB should get one…..PEP has the advantage of playing next 6 promoted/bottom of the season teams….so he can probably afford to drop Gundo and start all attackers….or play safe with Gundo – Fernandinho double pivot with KDB in front of them behind Aguero.
KDB didn’t look fantastic in his cameo for me. Think he’ll start next week ?
That is exactly the reason he should start…to get back to rhythm and break the defence…and HUD match is easy defensively, but difficult offensively as they will sit deep……MCI scored 2-1 and 0-0 last season.
So which was the most impressive team out of Liverpool or City. City had the toughest job,but watching Liverpool was really impressive and I would still back them to beat City.
I think a draw will be a fair score. Both teams have excellent attack….strong midfield, excellent LB…..City has a better RB, whereas Pool has VVD….I can’t differentiate much. I would still put City ahead because City has more creators….in Pool, if you stop the supply of Keita/Hendo/Milner, the front 3 will be half blunt and they have to come deep and go up……whereas in City, leaving Aguero, almost everyone comes deep and starts to go up.
City edges it for me because of KDB, there’s no KDB at Liverpool…
Liverpool had no KDB last year and won 4-1.
City’s attack can’t be argued with but they looked oddly shaky at the back today with the strange formation they were playing.
I’d back Pool at Anfield, but probably still City at the Etihad.
Both be entertaining games though.
..and also David Silva…..these two are relatively under rated, but world class players.
Wait and see what Keita does. First game today was fantastic and if he gets a few more under his belt and up to speed in the prem he will eclipse KDB. Bring it on!!
Yes, I do not trust City defence that much….its the high pressing attack saves their defence.
86 … Best starting week ive ever had i think. Very happy could have been better if Biss was playing instead of Bailey, but let’s be honest … who would have done that
Howd everyone do ?
Good score mate we’ll played! I’m in a proper huff with myself!!
Including all bonus…. 84 on pitch and unfortunate 29 on bench….not sure where it stands as I believe average will be quite high compared to regular GW1.
Seeing some of the impressive scores is bloody depressing!!
A bang average 75 points for me… meh… all the little decisions that could have meant a better score; Firmino over Mane, Cairney over Neves and Luiz over Shaw and ‘playing it safe’ with Mahrez over Bilva All 50/50 I could have went the other way and could have been on 110 points .., but I’m not!
Think Bobby v mane I’m ok with, another day and it could be the other way round, not convinced by Shaw or Luiz so that’s fine, think I’ll be bringing in Neves for Cairney and on the fence on Mahrez v Bilva. Obi wan would have always been on my bench so I’m fine with that!
On to GW2 and hoping for better things!
Could well be the others score well in GW2, way too early to draw conclusions at this stage imo…
Yeah I know, I take shit too seriously!
71pts here. I agree with your ‘dilemma’ Rosco. I may transfer Cairney out for Neves OR transfer Eriksen out for one of the City mids.
Yeah I’m bringing Neves in!
Its tough to get every decision right Roscoe still a good score. The B.Silva one is grating me as i took him out right at the last. All about courage of your convictions i guess !
I went Firm over Mane and i think long term they’ll score about the same, but Firm will be involved in more across the board and get more bonus points.
Agree with Shaw and Luiz … but can’t see me taking Luiz out for a FT with their fixtures (don’t have shaw)
I’d be interested in whether Bilva will keep his place and if KDB starts next week.
Words of a wise man Rosco!
B Silva scored
