Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1. And welcome back indeed, welcome to the start of yet another long season, welcome to another 38 weeks of joy, despair, trials, tribulations and challenges. We hope that you will once again enjoy joining us as we go through all the emotions together, share our thoughts and experiences, rejoice when our players score points, commiserate when they don’t, cry when they come off after 59 minutes and laugh when they concede in the last minute. Or something to that effect anyway.
GW1 sees us kick off with a Friday night game as the Champions of Europe host newly promoted Norwich at home. Doesn’t quite seem fair that does it, somehow? It’ll probably see plenty of Salah captainers get their first taste of the armband for the season anyway.
Champions Man City then get the first Saturday of the season going as they visit West Ham in the early kick off at 12.30pm.
In perhaps a sign of things to come our 3pm games are not only few but are also littered with the already seemingly cast aside ‘less interesting’ teams. Apologies to Bournemouth & Sheffield United, Burnley & Southampton, Palace & Everton and Watford & Brighton but that’s how it seems.
Champions League runners up Spurs host newly promoted Villa at home in the late KO at 5.30pm. Doesn’t quite seem fair that does it, somehow? It’ll probably see plenty of Kane captainers get their first taste of the armband for the season anyway….
Leicester and Wolves begin (share) our first Sunday with an intriguing encounter at 2pm, while Newcastle fans will be protesting against Arsenal at the same time. Well ok, not protesting Arsenal, protesting Ashley, but you know what we mean…
A clash of the old titans sees GW1 out as Chelsea visit Old Trafford at 4pm.

… it’s a long season, but this is not a good start to it. I picked the only viable Pool defensive option who got nothing and no Sterling is killing me!
Two of the 3 big hitters have performed and it just needs Kane to do the business tonight to justify the number of drafts I did to fit them in!

Cheers guys, first time I’ve had a good start to gameweek 1
Sterling was awesome preseason and before that. I felt I had to have him in my team. Today paid us back. Didn’t yet have the balls to cap him though. Sadly I forgot how poor whu were defensively last season. Still though… Salah had a homegame against what appeared to be a weaker side. Wonder if Pool can compete for the first spot this season. City always seem to be coming out with huge scores.
My point. Congrats for having those huge humangus balls.
Sterling’s pre season record and West Hams poor defending in the past and pre season made that decision for me.
