Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1. And welcome back indeed, welcome to the start of yet another long season, welcome to another 38 weeks of joy, despair, trials, tribulations and challenges. We hope that you will once again enjoy joining us as we go through all the emotions together, share our thoughts and experiences, rejoice when our players score points, commiserate when they don’t, cry when they come off after 59 minutes and laugh when they concede in the last minute. Or something to that effect anyway.

GW1 sees us kick off with a Friday night game as the Champions of Europe host newly promoted Norwich at home. Doesn’t quite seem fair that does it, somehow? It’ll probably see plenty of Salah captainers get their first taste of the armband for the season anyway.

Champions Man City then get the first Saturday of the season going as they visit West Ham in the early kick off at 12.30pm.

In perhaps a sign of things to come our 3pm games are not only few but are also littered with the already seemingly cast aside ‘less interesting’ teams. Apologies to Bournemouth & Sheffield United, Burnley & Southampton, Palace & Everton and Watford & Brighton but that’s how it seems.

Champions League runners up Spurs host newly promoted Villa at home in the late KO at 5.30pm. Doesn’t quite seem fair that does it, somehow? It’ll probably see plenty of Kane captainers get their first taste of the armband for the season anyway….

Leicester and Wolves begin (share) our first Sunday with an intriguing encounter at 2pm, while Newcastle fans will be protesting against Arsenal at the same time. Well ok, not protesting Arsenal, protesting Ashley, but you know what we mean…

A clash of the old titans sees GW1 out as Chelsea visit Old Trafford at 4pm.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 1 from all at FF247!

I will see how pulisic does tomorow and take him in if he looks promising. That was the plan since before and hopefully i can stick by it and there’s no injuries on other players and such….

      Loud Atlas says:

Really depends on how CHE/MNU get on tomorrow for the Martial/Pulisic/Barkley options.

The 4-3 MCI win aside in the CL, most games between the two are 1-0s in the last couple of years. However, TOT have NEW at home for GW3 – might not be worth taking him out to bring him back in – but is Son due back for that fixture, and therefore Moura’s space is in jeopardy?

So Kelly DEF (CRY) did play after all.

      Stone Frog says:

Kelly, Lundstram, Rico and Hanley all played. It will be interesting to see how many 4.0m defenders hang on in there teams in weeks 2 & 3.

      • Terminator says:

Lundstram and Rico will I would think for a while they seemed to have played ok and are further up the pitch then actual defenders, Kelly is a strange one everyone was saying he wasn’t going to play, maybe he has done enough and will keep doing so to keep his place like he did last season, Hanley was just very unlucky with that own goal, hard to hold that against him really.

      • Kralin says:

I was relieved to see Rico start – and indeed Wickham get a run out at the end. So just a general feeling of relief this end.

Cat amongst the pigeons time will be if Greenwood plays and scores tomorrow.

Wish I had TC Sterling instead of Salah

93 points with Barkley and Perez still to play. Top of all of my mini leagues and dreaming of my 1st ever century game week. Probably only downhill from here but many thanks to the sage wisdom of people on this site that got me here. Yous are all boss!

benbow – well done. Join the party proper – link your team

        • BenbowBaggins says:

How does one do that please?

        • Hi Benbow, follow the instructions on this pic;

        • I’ve just realised how un-instructional that is!

I obviously didn’t write it. I’ll look to edit it tomorrow.

        • KI says:

          Init,

Not only am I looking forward to your edit-I’ve been confused for two years-but I’d like to comment on the Salah/Sterling/Kane problem. All three of them scored big today, and I’m looking at a few ahead of me in my mini-leagues. What’s obvious is that they’ve distorted the structure of the rest of their team, and won’t be able to keep going through the lean weeks. Two Bournemouth defenders?; Origi, with Mane coming back; triple-captained Salah; or picked three 4.0’s for filler, with maybe one prayer. So, keep the faith-you do need a smidgen of balance in the team.

        • Kralin says:

Simplest way (to find your team number) is to look at your current points’ total and the number is listed there; no need to go via the history etc (though maybe the link you need is in the history):

        • Kralin says:

KI – I’ve taken a gander at a couple of big three teams and the structure doesn’t look that bad to me. If the manager goes down the usual 3/4/3, with a cheap defender as number 3, it doesn’t (to me) cause a huge amount of bother. And if Rico and Co look like they’re going to be regular starters – it’ll be a cinch.

This is, however, if you want to move out of a defence heavy side; as we all know, there’s good value in those defenders in terms of what they return for their price.

Me similar thanks to you guys. 81 points plus Jota, Perez & Barkley tomorrow. My best start so far.
