Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1. And welcome back indeed, welcome to the start of yet another long season, welcome to another 38 weeks of joy, despair, trials, tribulations and challenges. We hope that you will once again enjoy joining us as we go through all the emotions together, share our thoughts and experiences, rejoice when our players score points, commiserate when they don’t, cry when they come off after 59 minutes and laugh when they concede in the last minute. Or something to that effect anyway.

GW1 sees us kick off with a Friday night game as the Champions of Europe host newly promoted Norwich at home. Doesn’t quite seem fair that does it, somehow? It’ll probably see plenty of Salah captainers get their first taste of the armband for the season anyway.

Champions Man City then get the first Saturday of the season going as they visit West Ham in the early kick off at 12.30pm.

In perhaps a sign of things to come our 3pm games are not only few but are also littered with the already seemingly cast aside ‘less interesting’ teams. Apologies to Bournemouth & Sheffield United, Burnley & Southampton, Palace & Everton and Watford & Brighton but that’s how it seems.

Champions League runners up Spurs host newly promoted Villa at home in the late KO at 5.30pm. Doesn’t quite seem fair that does it, somehow? It’ll probably see plenty of Kane captainers get their first taste of the armband for the season anyway….

Leicester and Wolves begin (share) our first Sunday with an intriguing encounter at 2pm, while Newcastle fans will be protesting against Arsenal at the same time. Well ok, not protesting Arsenal, protesting Ashley, but you know what we mean…

A clash of the old titans sees GW1 out as Chelsea visit Old Trafford at 4pm.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 1 from all at FF247!

Is Zinchenko going to play next week(and in the future) as I have heard(may be wrong) city signed someone?

    • 211.1

City signed João Cancelo who is a right back but can fill in at left back. Most think Zinchenko is fairly safe until Mendy comes back to full fitness but who knows with Pep.

I am a B.Silva owner and got reminded of that today.

Are you planning to keep him? Im thinking of transfering him to Mahrez after yestetdays performance

        • Kralin says:

I’d hold your horses until after the Spurs’ game. I appreciate having 8m on your bench isn’t ideal. You could have your heart broken twice otherwise.

        • AT says:

Can’t see Bernardo missing out on a starting spot many times this season to be honest. As Kralin says, the risk with chasing last weekend’s City line up is you might find your shiny new player benched for your transferred out player!

83 points!!! Had all big 3 and went with Kane as C after Salah, Sterling performance was hoping atleast 1 goal from Kane  Also went with 2 brighton at back lol and idk how it payed off :biggun:

Congrats to those who are pushing for the 100 point barrier!!

Currently on 69 with Maguire, Barkley and tielemans to go hopefully I can get to 80 before the day is out!

Those late Kane goals were a right kick in the teeth – not least because he scored them after I’d been saying in the pub that he’s not world class!

Some pretty decent scores! Well done to those who captained Sterling. I’m on 80 points with Martial and Perez left to play. Not a bad start to the season…for once!

Any players that you find interesting so far? I’ve watched liv-nor, whu-mci, wat-bri and spurs-villa…

For me its Pukki. When facing teams that dosen’t got the defensive skills that Liverpool got, he could be a real catch. Like Austin back when he played for QPR…

    No real surprises in whu-mci…

In wat-bri popular picks like deulofeu Doucouré and Deeney looked terrible…

Villas defence looked pretty good for about 70 minutes. Mings looked really good…

Any others in the games I didn’t watch that are worth keeping in mind?

I’ve not seen much of the action so far just the Liverpool and Spurs game. Eriksen whether he stays or goes will be very interesting on Spurs.i weren’t expecting that from Brighton. It must be remembered it’s only one game ultimately and we can’t really tell till after a few games

I know they got hammered (forgive the pun, please) but West Ham’s right back looked good, Fredericks. 4.5, defo one to keep an eye on imo. He liked to get forwards and against lesser teams could be a threat. I second you on Pukki…
