Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1. And welcome back indeed, welcome to the start of yet another long season, welcome to another 38 weeks of joy, despair, trials, tribulations and challenges. We hope that you will once again enjoy joining us as we go through all the emotions together, share our thoughts and experiences, rejoice when our players score points, commiserate when they don’t, cry when they come off after 59 minutes and laugh when they concede in the last minute. Or something to that effect anyway.
GW1 sees us kick off with a Friday night game as the Champions of Europe host newly promoted Norwich at home. Doesn’t quite seem fair that does it, somehow? It’ll probably see plenty of Salah captainers get their first taste of the armband for the season anyway.
Champions Man City then get the first Saturday of the season going as they visit West Ham in the early kick off at 12.30pm.
In perhaps a sign of things to come our 3pm games are not only few but are also littered with the already seemingly cast aside ‘less interesting’ teams. Apologies to Bournemouth & Sheffield United, Burnley & Southampton, Palace & Everton and Watford & Brighton but that’s how it seems.
Champions League runners up Spurs host newly promoted Villa at home in the late KO at 5.30pm. Doesn’t quite seem fair that does it, somehow? It’ll probably see plenty of Kane captainers get their first taste of the armband for the season anyway….
Leicester and Wolves begin (share) our first Sunday with an intriguing encounter at 2pm, while Newcastle fans will be protesting against Arsenal at the same time. Well ok, not protesting Arsenal, protesting Ashley, but you know what we mean…
A clash of the old titans sees GW1 out as Chelsea visit Old Trafford at 4pm.

Any idea on Villa’ s backline? I have Guilbert in my team but he was not even in the squad yesterday, any particular reason? Should I think of switching him to Mings or their other wing backs?
Mings looked really good and even got two bonus points. But i expect he will be bench fodder in your team and maybe not worthy of a FT?

Very true!! PEA just needs the game time, if he gets it, I can see him outscoring Kane or at least matching him… The problem is Kane is nailed, PEA might not be with that Emery trying to compete with Pep in who’s the most unpredictable manager in the prem
Is pea able to score big? Yes. He needs a brace/hatty to to match Salah or sterling.
Is there a way to find out the highest position I have ever been in the overall global league since I started playing the Fantasy Premier League?
I’m currently just under top 70,000 and I think that this is the highest I have ever been but wanted to check.
No I don’t think there is a way to check that for past seasons…
You only check where you finished.
You can get your finishing position for previous seasons but week by week isn’t stored
