Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 11

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 11. Our game-week kicks off Saturday lunchtime as Leicester take the shortish route to battle Stoke at the Britannia. Following on are four 3pm matches which are four of the most boring collection of top flight matches in living history as Huddersfield host West Brom, Bournemouth travel to Newcastle, Southampton ‘entertain’ Burnley and Swansea welcome Brighton. Fortunately the Premier League have arranged for Liverpool to thump West Ham in the evening kick off in an attempt to wake us from our coma. The fun is all on Sunday – first up Crystal Palace are the latest team to visit Wembley. Sadly for the Eagles they get to play Spurs rather than fight for a trophy, but they can dream. Next up Arsenal travel to the Etihad for their annual spanking before Jose drives and parks his bus at his old home as Chelsea try and break through the United wall. Oh and Richarlison gets the perfect opportunity to appease his fans and owners as he and his fellow Hornets go to Goodison.

  1. Right, Davies is going… Which of these options is best?

    1. Davies & Otamendi to Azpi & Mee (leaves 0.2 ITB)
    2. Davies & Otamendi to Azpi & Dunk (leaves enough for Simpson to Daniels)
    3. Davies & Fabianski to Vertonghen & Speroni (leaves 0.2 ITB)
    4. Davies & Simpson to Daniels & Ward (leaves 0.6 ITB)
    5. Davies & Fabianski to Daniels & Speroni (leaves 1.6, or enough for Morata to Lukaku)
    6. Davies & Fabianski to Daniels & Courtois
    7. Something else??

I have 2 FT, so all those moves are free.

    Thanks.

    • Love the first option there banjo.

Two quality FPL options incoming for a rotation risk and a suspension.

Morata to Lukaku isn’t necessary and in my view neither is a Simpson upgrade (option 2).

      • Don’t think he mentioned Lukaku did he smile

        • Option 5?! 😉

        • Surely not all this week though? Agree with GP on no.1

        • Yea this GW, obviously not for about 12 days though! I have 2 FT, so there’s no hits. If I don’t move two then it’s highly likely I’ve gotta play Simpson vs City.

        • Option 5 seems to involve 3 moves if you include the other, that’s what I meant. If you’re doing Lukaku you do it this week or you don’t bother I think.

        • Yea, sorry Init. Option 2 & 5 are just 2 moves this week, but enable something else after. Looking at fixtures again I see what you mean. After this week Morata’s are much nicer than Lukaku’s, so I’ll definitely bin that idea! I’d still like Daniels, but it’s probably wise to take form over fixtures.

      • Cheers GP. Simpson’s frustrated me a little. He just offers zero attacking potential. Bournemouth have a nice run of fixtures and Daniels gets forward a lot. That was the thinking behind option 2 anyway.

Option 1 could actually change from Azpi to Alonso?! Is Alonso likely to find last seasons form? With Azpi occasionally playing in the back 3, is Alonso the better option? Or am I overthinking things 😉

    • Nice side Banjo.
I like option 1 as well

      • Cheers Horse. It’s nice when everyone agrees and gives me a simple answer! I think I was leaning towards Option 2, but I’ll heed the advice and go Option 1 (pending the IB). Cracking rank btw. Great to see you flying so high.

Oh and at least we can concentrate on the league now 😉

  2. Does anyone know what is going on with Luiz? Looking at shipping him out tonight for Jones before the price rise..

    • Seems that he’s had a barney with Conte about something. God knows how serious that could be, but I’d be concerned if I owned him. Switching to Jones seems very logical to me.

      • Cheers Banjo.
The cup has been too much of a distraction this season. I am sure we’ll improve our league position soon. 😉

  3. Evening all.

My defence really needs sorting out and I’m wondering whether it’s worth just wildcarding instead of sorting gradually with hits, given there’s only a few more weeks left to use the WC anyway. Doing it now allows me to take advantage of upcoming fixtures in the way I want to.

    Current mob

    • Something along these lines would be the wildcard. I would then be able to change Daniels & Lukaku to Azpi and Morata for Chelsea’s run of great fixtures from GW14.

Does all that sound sensible or insane?

      Cheers

      Robbo

  4. So another gw passes by and the consistency is there…:/ The consistency to run bad in gw had been remarkable…I don’t know whether to laugh about it or scratch my head to find a solution… Saw myself getting out of 500k…600k…1mil…and finally new benchmark 1.5million…! Isn’t that called consistency with improvement to perform worse every gw.. anyways wanted to lent out my anger…now that’s done and dusted..how did you guys do this weekend??
PS- needed this international break to get some brainstorming sessions to plan to aim for 2mil next…lol…:p

    • Chanaraj

Sometimes the international break comes just at the right time!

You can recharge your batteries and come at next week refreshed.

A couple of good gameweeks consecutively and you can rise a million places or so so dont panic.

      • Yes I agree GP that one week will change the stats.. That’s why I have stopped getting tensed about the gw’s stats nowadays.. Hopefully the batteries are charged after international break..:p

  5. Hello all I have internet again. How are we all? Since playing my wild card I seem to be moving in the right direction well that and the fact I’ve had no time to think about my team. I have risen a million or so places in last 2 game weeks. Thinking of holding the transfer here

    • How was/is your trip Smash?

Nice to hear about your recovery. I think you’re correct in holding that transfer as long as the rest of the IB throws up no surprises. Looks a solid team for the next gameweek.

  6. Mornin all. Thought on this WC draft?

    • Current team

    • @Colriles, I can see where your team gets better and the amount of transfers you would be making, yet it doesn’t feel like a team that needs to be on a WC. Because of the amount of cash you have on hand it feels like just taking a hit if need be would get you to something that you could be happy with for now and save the WC for a rainier day.

      • Cheers guys. Feels like Salah/Morata/Kun/Jones are becoming must-haves and my team could really use them! Maybe Vardy > Morata and Davies > Stones/Jones for a -4? Or is Salah top priority?

        • Wouldn’t disagree with those moves. Probably puts you in better spec than the WC would given as you’d then have double Man U defence as opposed to simply switching one for another. Do sort of feel Salah may be but not to the extent of playing a WC over.
