Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 12
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 12. We have a fairly succinct game-week before we all wander off aimlessly into yet another unwanted international break. 10 games over 2 days begins on Saturday at lunch-time as Cardiff host Brighton, sounds like a thriller. We jump then to four 3pm games and we shall be honest here, we aren’t expecting the most action packed Saturday afternoon ever! Huddersfield look to tame Arnie and co, and probably will, to a 0-0 or something similar. Newcastle vs Bournemouth continues the fun, yep that ones got a low score written all over it too. Saints v Watford next, bet against another 0-0 anyone?! Leicester do have what will be sure to be an emotional occasion against Burnley at home, but as a game, again…
Palace host Spurs in the evening game if anyone is still awake, at least there’s the prospect of some goals in this one, we can but hope!
Sunday promises much better though, and just in case there are any stats fans out there the 12 Saturday teams have averaged 12 goals apiece this season, the remaining Sunday bunch of 8 are at 20.75. Liverpool kick us off at home to Fulham in the 12pm game and it could / should be calculators at the ready in this one. Chelsea then take on Everton at 2.15pm before we end our week in strange fashion with two 4.30pm games. Arsenal and Wolves will be largely ignored as the Manchester derby takes centre stage at the same time.
The games in full…

So glad i didnt ditch Alex!
I need another salah goal/assist or aat will get the max bp. Don’t have him but delight with that ball from him
yeah.. amazing assist. with the 2nd person in my mini league having hazard. mahrez and martial, anything from salah and mane will be gold mine!!
Hope cap’n Mane becomes a greater goal threat in this half. Big shout-out to all my fellow Sadio-masochists out there.
According to NBC it wasn’t a “clear and obvious error” so VAR would not be able to approve Mitro’s goal only cancel Salah’s.. Don’t know what the other network’s opinions are.
You would imagine that with VAR involved, Alisson would’ve been prevented from restarting straight after the initial offside decision anyway.
Exactly. So all it would do is stop the game for perhaps nothing and prevent a goal the other side. All rather subjective really.
It’s an interesting dilemma you raise. The Fulham defence wouldn’t be caught so off guard after a VAR stoppage and, like you say, play would’ve likely unfolded differently.
Thing is, that’s the path that football has to go down if people want to use VAR. It interrupts the butterfly effect.
It’s high time for VAR to be introduced in EPL Dan.
Bry and Ivan, I totally agree that VAR is the way forward I just cannot stop wondering if the PL, with its characteristically fast and uncompromising play, may well suffer more than other leagues.
I agree VanDan. Tbh, I’m not necessarily for VAR being implemented. I love the theatre of human error, but it’s coming to the PL no matter what. It will solve a lot of issues, but will create new ones.
VAR has been successful in many other leagues and major competitions. Inevitably it will arrive in the PL but you have to wait for a while. The great English stubbornness, which I love, will eventually give a green light to something which is the only way forward.Like one politician said,I can’t remember who was it, “If the world comes to its end I would like to be in England as it will happen last” 🙂
Absolutely. You say human error I say human nature; We are great at creating problems then spending massive amounts to fix them
In that case, maybe we should go back in the dark ages of
the Olympic games when athletes used to hide in the bushes and join the Marathon at the end to win medals without any disputes 😆
Ivan that’s just down to bad admin! 😉 Besides, I’ve told you, I’m not giving my bronze back.
Hey Bry, everything was cool back in those days :smiling:
Boom. Shaq goal and Robbie assist.
nice punt innit. glad to see robbo assist
Congrats everybody that took the punt on Shaqiri ! I was .1m short !
Still have Mane so I can’t.
Will he be starting regularly now?
Doubt it but he looks good when he is on the pitch.Would be a bargain if he did.
Yeah congrats. I wish I did not do my moves early as did not think of it.
