Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 12
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 12. We have a fairly succinct game-week before we all wander off aimlessly into yet another unwanted international break. 10 games over 2 days begins on Saturday at lunch-time as Cardiff host Brighton, sounds like a thriller. We jump then to four 3pm games and we shall be honest here, we aren’t expecting the most action packed Saturday afternoon ever! Huddersfield look to tame Arnie and co, and probably will, to a 0-0 or something similar. Newcastle vs Bournemouth continues the fun, yep that ones got a low score written all over it too. Saints v Watford next, bet against another 0-0 anyone?! Leicester do have what will be sure to be an emotional occasion against Burnley at home, but as a game, again…
Palace host Spurs in the evening game if anyone is still awake, at least there’s the prospect of some goals in this one, we can but hope!
Sunday promises much better though, and just in case there are any stats fans out there the 12 Saturday teams have averaged 12 goals apiece this season, the remaining Sunday bunch of 8 are at 20.75. Liverpool kick us off at home to Fulham in the 12pm game and it could / should be calculators at the ready in this one. Chelsea then take on Everton at 2.15pm before we end our week in strange fashion with two 4.30pm games. Arsenal and Wolves will be largely ignored as the Manchester derby takes centre stage at the same time.
The games in full…

Poor week for me. 42 points and three players out. Any suggestions? .4m in the bank, 2 ft. Would wildcard but the 2ft is too nice to throw away.
Makeya,
I’d prob be looking at getting rid of Maguire & Maddison but hold fire until next week.
+1
Martial & Digne would be firmly on my watchlist (assuming you can afford them in for Mag & Mad)
Thanks lads, good calls.
Any early advice? 0.1itb, 1ft
Log off for a week and come again fresh after the internationals is the best advice I can offer!
Cheers – as is happens I’m going to Cuba on Tuesday so won’t have access for a while. If it wasn’t for that I’d be tempted to wildcard.
Assuming there are no injuries, what are your thoughts on Salah out, Martial in? (Salah would be going next GW anyway to get Hazard in for the Fulham game)
@EBC Cuba, nice! I’m sure you’ll be Havana great time.
Yeah light a Cohiba for us while sipping an Havana Club 7 years rhum. You’ll even make better FPL decisions with that, such as keeping Salah.
Evening, Im thinking Trippier and Maddison out, Wolves defender (Doherty?) and Martial in. Is Doherty the way to go? Or should I save some dough and go for Bennet?
Any thoughts on other moves welcome!
PS – Trippier was probably going to be sacrificed anyway due to next 2 fixtures so has nothing to do with injury/rage.
Geez, why are people buying or selling players 2 weeks from time? I mean, they can’t all be going to Cuba…
My plan is to get Sterling and Jimenez for next week but I won’t be able to it if they both rise. I have a 0.1 buffer. Still, I am not going to do it this evening and if they then are out of reach so be it. We need to stop this anxiety thing or whatever it is that makes people move so early.
I blame Kruz.
Not only me doing early transfers ,but thousands of others. The early bird catches the worm!!
Kruz – they both went up so you owe me 0.1!
I have got Trips .Ings & Richarlie on the sick list and Trips has already plummeted to 95.9% 2299 sales to go before a price drop.
Its cruel in FPL world!!
+ 1 him and the “others”.
theres nothing you can do to stop the price rises unless FPL introduces a change freeze period for a week during the IB where prices dont go down or up.
“I mean, they can’t all be going to Cuba…”
Brilliant!
On a serious note though, and I know this isn’t exactly what you’re talking about DMC, but I’d quite like transfers only to be available after the last game of the GW finishes.
+1
It’s fairly natural, I suppose – escaping into the future via the past.
Having said that, all three are very good selections.
I try not to worry too much about the market fluctuations. And there are always other options if you miss out.
When in doubt, pull out the old Doris Day albums & whip on ‘Que Sera, Sera’! Works a treat – and it’ll have you singing on your way to work. All that optimism will help you to forget about how you were unable to afford Martial, Sterling et al.!
Then again this reminds me that as the commercial ‘adfest’ that is Black Friday, approaches, we are reminded that the FPL community is but a mirror of society – and within that society, we are increasingly solicited to consume in an ever more frantic manner. So, it’s not surprising that we are fraught with the feeling of panic that a player may slip from our grasp (often by 0.1!), inducing us to take the plunge! I have no solution – gonna go and bathe in the sounds of Doris!
Merde! Haste makes waste! I just realise that I have used the word ‘remind’ twice in the same sentence, thus branding me as a hopeless imposter, a veritable incult! Sorry folks – I’ll try to write more plainly! (‘Que sera sera, whatever will be, will be….’!) Oh I can tell it’s going to be a mindblowingly fascinating 2 weeks!
Thanks ohyesali and Cookie for encouraging me to get Martial in. Instant pay off! OR still slides down an unnoticeable 300 to 36k, but could be worse if I held onto Maddison. Cheers guys.
Is it time to ditch Vardy? I am tempted to switch my play to 5 MFs and have a 3rd forward (Success) as bench warmer. It looks like more values can be found in MFs than forwards so far. Thoughts?
Shawn, nice one mate, Martial was a perfect lay up for GW13 so to get pay back in 12 is a nice bonus!
I know exactly what you mean by the 3 cheap strikers and half of my agrees with you – the other half of me worries about what happens what you want Kun or Kane or another premium striker – it’s not going to be easy to upgrade from a cheapie.
True, no way I could bring another premium striker in without taking a hit or 2. Decisions decisions
Activated the WC last night. Any ideas guys?
It’s certainly not template Ivan. I’ll be honest I haven’t looked at WC options from a complete squad point of view but off the top of my head Sterling, Salah, Robertson and Alonso would all likely feature for me.
Thanks Cookie. That was my idea, to get out of the template and try something new. Despite what everyone says I insist that Salah is not justifying his overpriced tag.I don’t trust Sterling, it’s only a matter of time before he either gets crocked or fall out with Pep who on the other hand loves Bernardo.Still, two weeks is a long time and I might reconsider few moves.
As you know, going against the template (or most of it) can either work wonders or completely smack you in the face.
Say what you like about Salah and Sterling but they are still the 2nd & 3rd highest scoring mids and at the end of the day it’s a points game.
I like the Martial punt and the short term fixtures are on his side – however, not owning him isn’t bothering me as that form isn’t sustainable for him in a team that is struggling. In my opinion.
