Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 12
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 12. The gameweek gets going with a Friday get together when The Hammers pay a visit to Leeds.
Saturday brings us 4 interesting fixtures. Wolves try to bounce back when they welcome in Villa, Toon play host to West Brom, the Manchester derby then takes flight as Bruno tries to go at it alone versus the vaunted City attack. Saturday comes to an end when the struggling Everton takes on high scoring Chelsea.
Sunday brings an end to the gameweek with 5 meh fixtures. Saints play Sheffield Utd, Zaha battles Kane and Son and Fulham bend over for Liverpool in the first three games. The last two fixtures are played simultaneously (thankfully) when 15th placed :mosking: Arsenal take on Burnley and it comes to an end when Leicester tangle with Brighton.
The games in full…

Starting to think Ayling isn’t a good pick. Are Leeds going to keep any cleans over this nice fixture run?
Also, is it a misconception they score a lot? They’ve scored more than 1 just once in the last 10 gameweeks?
Hmmm. Normally I might be a bit peeved about Soucek being my first reserve and scoring 9 pts, but I find it strangely reassuring. Bodes well for the coming weeks when a good bench will be well worth it. Bye everyone.
James and Souchek or Zouma and Orioil Romeo? :scratch_one-s_head:
James and Souchek, no brainer mate.
+1.
:good:
I’m quite bouyant about this weekend. Nuno has said that Fabio Silva is likely to start in the “winnable” game v AVL. He’s first on my bench so if Jota doesn’t play it may be good
Sorry if this has been asked/covered before but what is the latest on the DGW situation? Is it just the Hammers one coming up (blank then double in GW19)? Or are there more around the same time? Trying to start planning since gotta find a way to catch up in my ML. Thanks.
No firm news yet. Well get the best information when they release the Jan TV schedules.
What we do know is that 5 of the GW18 games will be moved to midweek 19 making a DGW 19.
But that doesn’t mean GW18 will be much of a blank because it will likely accommodate the two games postponed from GW1.
I’m expecting AVL v NEW to go to a CL midweek or maybe a cup weekend if both teams get knocked out.
A solid update. I think that at this stage (and this comes from someone usually all over DGWs and BGWs) the best advice Is to just wait and see. The good thing is, for most we’ll be in a similar situation, and even those who have specifically saved their WC, they may hamstring their team given that it’s a few weeks out from the weeks in question. That, and sometimes as I’ve said before, SGW players often outscore DGW players.. happens every season!
Good points Rosco, I’ve messed up in the past bringing in players for a DGW / BGW early and losing points from better choices for the interim
Many thanks for the info and advice, Otieno and Rosco. Much appreciated. :hi:
I guess I could start bringing in a West Ham player or two regardless as they do have a decent run of fixtures coming up and seem to be in decent form. Soucek seems to be real good value at 4.9 (as a 5th mid, or even 4th, esp/ during the busy Xmas period), plus perhaps Balbuena at 4.4 (for cheap but decent defensive cover).
Waiting is a very good plan because the other thing to be wary of is the opposition. For example Burnley are likely to have a DGW in this period but it could be against LIV and MNU
I’m looking forward for Ings mozza
