Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 13

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 13. Here comes the festive period and the quick turnarounds. This gameweek gets rolling on Tuesday with two fixtures. The recently derailed Chelsea play a struggling Wolves side. That game is followed by Manchester City taking out their derby frustrations on poor ol’ West Brom.

Wednesday grabs our attention a bit more with six games. Nicely divided up with three 6pm games and three 8pm games. The first three fixtures include Arsenal welcoming the surprising Saints, Leeds matching up versus Toon and Leicester tangling with Everton. The three late games sees Fulham play Brighton, Liverpool and Spurs battle it out in a clash for first and West Ham play host to Palace.

Thursday brings an end to the gameweek. Villa goes up against Burnley in the early game and Manchester United pay a visit to last place Sheffield United to close us out.

The games in full…

I’m really tempted to not pull my team to pieces for this GW18/19 situation. Can someone confirm that we’ll still have the usual DGW opportunities later in the season? i.e. this is just a random extra? Either option just seems so disruptive. I could make all my moves between now and then to build a team for the BGW, free hit the DGW, but then what am I left with? Similarly, I could make all my moves to stack up on the DGW, and free hit the BGW, but again, where does that leave me? Not to mention the fact I’d be ignoring the weeks before GW18 too. Also, there aren’t many teams in the DGW that I’d actually fancy. West Ham, West Brom & Leeds are the ones with decent fixtures. It just doesn’t seem right to load up there for the sake of an extra game. I’d be interested to hear how others are feeling and whether kinda ignoring it is even viable, or will that just mean inevitable lost ground?

Hi banjo, have similar thought my self. I am going to use my fh on 18 for sure and maybe try have 6 / 7 dgw players for 19. I’ll save the BB for when I. Have a new WC. TC might happen, that’s a wait and see move

to answer your question with cup games and all I assume we will see another dgw in the last 8 weeks again.

Banjo, it’s far too early to predict how this will end. There is so much time until then and we all know in winter injures are plentiful.
On the other hand, there will be a much bigger BGW, which most likely is GW 29 when the FA Cup quarterfinal are happening. Then, it will be up to what of the big teams progress and what the second big DGW will look like.

Hi Ivan. You’ve kind of touched on my thinking. If there are much bigger BGW/DGWs later in the season are the chips not better spent then? Plus, as you say, it’s very risky building a team for a GW in a months time!

        • Yep, exactly that. The second DGW is bound to be be bigger as many teams will be involved in the BGW prior that. I think is best to start building the team near to the time. My prediction is that the majority will try to get by with whatever they can do around rounds 18 and 19 and concentrate for the second one, which you rightly said, it will be somewhere within the last 8 games.
