Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 13

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 13. Here comes the festive period and the quick turnarounds. This gameweek gets rolling on Tuesday with two fixtures. The recently derailed Chelsea play a struggling Wolves side. That game is followed by Manchester City taking out their derby frustrations on poor ol’ West Brom.

Wednesday grabs our attention a bit more with six games. Nicely divided up with three 6pm games and three 8pm games. The first three fixtures include Arsenal welcoming the surprising Saints, Leeds matching up versus Toon and Leicester tangling with Everton. The three late games sees Fulham play Brighton, Liverpool and Spurs battle it out in a clash for first and West Ham play host to Palace.

Thursday brings an end to the gameweek. Villa goes up against Burnley in the early game and Manchester United pay a visit to last place Sheffield United to close us out.

The games in full…

  1. I have an eerie feeling not owning Bruno this week (either) will haunt me terribly come this Thursday’s tally.

Oh well. Atleast he’s only increased 0.5 since the week of picking Covid-Wilfried over Bruno ‘the brace’ Fernandes. :laugh2:

    • Bruno is close to a “must have”, Dane. Enough shenanigans and stubbornness, just buy the guy already! :punish:

      • Well apparently the FPL towers don’t want to swap him for Pulisic. I thought it was a fair trade, but they are so damn stubborn – Grealish or Son isn’t good enough either. Stubborn as a mule I tells ya…! :mosking:

  2. Humed and hawed for a few days deciding whether to keep Salah or a -4 to bring in KdB.

Brought in KdB for a -4 this afternoon.

15 (-4) points if KdB keeps his two bonus points with 5 players already played.

    Worse score EVER in prospect.

Got to laugh (and hide the shoelaces just in case).

    Jamie

    • He was the correct choice this week, hindsight aside. An ailing WBA at home had 4/5 goals written all over it. Could easily have had 2 late assists and probably an earlier goal himself too.

Surely if you hide something yourself you still know where it is?

      • So this is why De Bruyne got 2 bonus points?, Big chances created etc

        • I’ve always found the BPS system brings out the worst in fantasy managers, don’t you?

It seems such a dull and futile thing to get worked up about. And it always evens itself out – we lose as much as we gain.

        • Probably Aarron. No idea if you saw the game but he was the one main danger on the pitch all game.

It’s all stats based and so you’d like to think it’s objective and not subjective and is therefore always consistent in It’s outcome, which I’m sure it is.

Just a shame their keeper didn’t get something as he basically won them that point with two huge saves at the death.

        • I haven’t seen any of the city match, did De Bruyne not have a decent match?, To be honest Kane 3 bonus points Sunday wasn’t deserved scored a fluke long range where Guita made a mistake

        • As I say he was the best player on the pitch and so I was not surprised the stats reached out to 2 Baps.

Likewise Kane was the best player on Sunday and so again it was no surprise that he ended up with a stat based advantage.

        • Don’t you think Guita was unlucky not to get any points Sunday?, With the saves he made

        • Possibly, but again it is objective not subjective and I trust the stats process. I might not necessarily agree with it as a model but it is what it is and as long as they are sincere in adhering to it I don’t mind it.

    • A KdB is for life, not just Christmas, so that -4 will be paid off before you can say ‘where did I put those laces?’

    • I wasn’t advocating finding them btw, simply a theoretical question

  3. Need to use my FT to sort out my defence and at least get 3 starters. How about Kilman >> Lewis or Alioski?

  4. Can be a painful game sometimes. Should have gone with my gut and captained Bruno but who would have thought city would draw.

  5. Hi all – Episode 1 of ‘This Jerk’ s Knee-jerks’, entitled, ‘Trading KDB + DCL for Son + Aguero/Kane’ , (also known as the ‘Highway to Hell’) smile ). I obviously won’t do it, but have long considered it while grinding my teeth over the fortunes of the City team!!! Pull me back from the ledge people!!!! smile

  6. I spot a spurs fan struggling to contain his mixed emotions about real life vs FPL.

Why on earth would you bench Son?????

I guess the theory is if spurs do nothing and robbo gets a cleano the decision is justified so hes happy in FPL world, but if spurs score a few and win he’s happy in the real world.

Dont get it myself though if I’m honest.

    • I read somewhere that Son had scored once in 9 games against Liverpool. I thought about benching him but decided on DCL instead.
