Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 16

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 16. And we go again… We were promised ‘thick and fast’ in the weeks ahead, and it’s already starting to feel that way, as we have our 3rd GW begin within the space of 8 days, ‘get used to it’ is all we can offer by way of comfort.

GW16 is a tad Saturday heavy with no less than 8 games. We kick off with Bournemouth hosting Liverpool in the early one prior to five 3pm games. There are then two evening games beginning with a potential cracker as Chelsea welcome the Pep (rotation) machine at 5.30pm before Leicester take on Spurs in a rare Saturday evening treat at 7.45pm.

Sunday only has one game as a result, oddly. This one sees Newcastle play Wolves before Monday finishes us off with Everton at home to Watford.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 16 from all at FF247!

  1. planning to get rid of murray next gamweek. thought about jimenez but considering chica given they have a good few fixtures and faces fulham away. who would you pick between jimenez, chicharito and mitro to replace murray?

    • Chicha. Thinking of making that same move myself.

    • Chica I reckon eresh.

Thanks for checking in on Kop’s team earlier too. If the world was full of ‘ereshs’ ‘ it’d be a much better place.

      • cheers init. i appreciate the complement smile Matt explained he wouldn’t do that so all is well and I personally didnt want -28 to happen to him.

  2. Wow what a game week. I’m about as clueless as ever on what big players to own. Salah, Robertson, Alonso, Hazard, Sane, Sterling, Aguero, Kane, Auba, prob not Lacazette. Really feel for anyone who sold Robertson for TAA I thought that was a really good move. Guessing they are all good options and shows patience is key

    • Funny thing how it (at least for me) often feels like the one I don’t have is the better one, like three days ago I had Hazard and thought Kane is better to own, then I bought Kane and am now thinking Hazard is better to own… Well guess it’s the one who’s scored better points in the most recent gameweek 🙂

    • You must have some TV there Smash if you’re being patient with those 10.

      • I wish! That’s my point it’s so difficult to choose which ones are best and any of them can really bite you on the ass

  3. And Atlanta are champions of MLS. not bad for a team that was created in the last few years. And their home crowds are usually over 70k as well. Well done everyone, that’s a great story.

    • Yes…great, I am happy. They look the most exciting MLS team to watch for.

    • That is true Zorro. They have been amazing throughout the season and deserve to be the Champions.
As Tata Martino is leaving and most likely Alan Pardew will be the new manager will be interesting to see what happens next.

  4. Big shout out (is that still a thing?) to Matt for his Paterson Captain tip. laugh

  5. Amidst the woes and whines from this GW (primarily mine) – what would be a tried and tested way to navigate the next few weeks?

    – strong bench to withstand rotation?
    – cap premium midfielders as opposed to premium strikers?
    – AOGA (any other good advice)

Cheers! (I swapped my cap from Son to Auba in the Last Minute – life is lgreat”)

    • The strong bench bit is critical. Or rather, a playing bench.

  6. So you can only probably have three realistically with budget. . Who are the best three to have?

Salah – MUN wol NEW ARS mci
Sterling – EVE CRY lei sot LIV
Aguero (must be fit soon) EVE CRY lei sot LIV
Hazard – bri LEI cry wat SOU
Kane – BUR eve BOU WOL car
Aubameyang – sou BUR bri liv FUL

    • Sterling+ Aguero+Auba

    • Sterling and Kane for me fixture wise

      • Yeah Kane’s fixtures are so good now for a long time. Kind of need Sterling/Aguero for City coverage.

        • Hazard out
          Sterling in
          Is that a good move?

        • Any insight as to why Laca was withdrawn Aarron?

        • Guess not then. One way street.

        • Keeping us all waiting. Delayed gratification. You know this is a game of patience. A13 is going to stun us all.

I’m slightly weepy about Lacazette, my trophy signing of week, my captain, getting me such a meagre return. But like A13, the best is yet to come.

(To be frank I half fancy a quick I’m-in-denial transfer of Lacazette to Chic, which would mean I could get Sane for Shaq.)

        • Can’t say I’m the most patient but when it comes to persistence I’m hard to beat. Let’s just say we could be stuck here all week until we get an answer 😉

        • C’mon then Aarron13. Heed our call. Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you

        • The levee looks dry.

        • Just seen this lacazette was taken off for tactical reasons

    • Sterling, Haz and Aub give the best value. Maybe Kane scores slightly more, but I don’t think a lot more. Ultimately transferring between them at the right time will bring in the most points, but that requires luck. Picking the captains for each week helps a bit.

    • Even after the hatty I’m not sold on Salah’s fixtures and also the worry he may be rotated for easier games. I sold him plus success last week for Anderson and Aub, which hurts a bit as I would have C Salah otherwise. However Anderson and Aub got 17pts, so can’t complain.

      • I actually like the look of Salah’s fixtures with the exception of City away coming up. Maybe I have blinkers on because I captained him this week. Nah Auba and Anderson are very good options

        • The question is how many times would you captain Salah over the next 5 ? Maybe Gw19 but that is going to be a rotation nightmare from all the big teams.Sterling and Kane far better captain options and are cheaper helping to upgrade elsewhere.

        • This is good advice. Just glanced. Kane is the stand out captain choice in a lot of them.

    • Sane doesnt make the list Smash?
Kane didnt work out this week but surely with those fixtures and his form is decent, he seems top.
      Salah I guess is next
One of Sterling/Aguero (I have Sterling and Sane)
      Followed by one of Hazard/Auba

      • Sane is a bit cheaper that’s why I did not mention him. A bit of an awkward price. Thing with Sane for me is Mahrez. We know Sterling is number one out of the three. Just puts me off a bit. When he’s on the pitch he’s great though
