Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 18

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 18. The silly season officially begins here. We have no less than 40 games spanning the next 14 days taking in 4 GW’s in total. We can but recommend you stick close to both our Fixture Tracker and our on-site Countdown Timer to keep track of when each GW begins, but as a helpful little ditty to perhaps take a ‘snap of’, the deadlines are as follows (all times are GMT) –

GW18 Friday 21st December 7PM
GW19 Wednesday 26th December 11.30AM
GW20 Saturday 29th December 3PM
GW21 Tuesday 1st January 11.30AM

As for this GW we begin on Friday and end on Sunday with the majority of the games on Saturday for a pleasant change. Wolves and Liverpool kick us off this evening as the current league leaders look to put the pressure on their chasers by extending their overnight lead to 4 points over Man City.

Saturday begins with many an FPL manager sweating over the Arsenal line-up as they play host to an ever increasingly tight Burnley side. Six 3PM kick-offs follow with Bournemouth and Brighton both looking to regain some sort of form, Chelsea hoping to continue their own pursuit against Leicester, Huddersfield look to stop the new beer flowing against the Saints, Man City probably playing catch up against Palace, Newcastle hoping Mitro doesn’t come back to haunt them and West Ham look for 5 wins in a row for who knows how long as they host Watford.

Saturday evening could be intriguing as Cardiff look to take 3 points off fellow strugglers Man United.

Our only game on a barren Sunday is Everton vs Spurs. Harry Kane may not know it but this could be his final rehearsal for many FPL managers, especially if Kun shows up on Saturday.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

  1. What do you know Pogba with 2 assists.Everybody will be piling into him now ! smile

  2. Peltier who I’ve had from the start is 3.8 if he goes up to 3.9 do I get 3.9 as selling value. Think he’s close to rising

  3. Martial 3-1, probably the best team goal of MUN till now in the season

  4. Anyone thinking De Bruyne?

    • Not immediately…City is not looking at their best and KDB needs some more gametime, I would like to scout him few more games. Today’s goal was a fluke – it was a nice cross, went into goal.

    • Yeah just might be a week early

  5. BT talking up United. Have they been that good? 4 shots on target. Not exactly pelting them

    • They’ve looked excellent. Positive, attacking and seem to be enjoying themselves. Of course it is Cardiff.

      • The Post-Mourinho Era is just beginning 🙂

        • Playing no one though?

      • Second half they have been impressive. Some legs in the team with Rashford/Martial/Lingard. Not sure its not a bad thing for Lukaku to be out. I think Cardiff have given them too much room too.

First time 5 since SAF – cant argue with that

    • 3 goals before HT is pretty good imo

      • Two of them were long shots, I’d prefer the goals Martial scored (it was lovely though) 😉

      • We are slowly coming back to life SZ 😉

    • They’ve done what you’d expect a Utd team of old to do against weaker opposition. Bossed posession and looked threatening. Certainly an improvement on their recent performances

      • Ole will stay longer than expected…
It seems he brought the team back to life.
Nice attacking team display, good football for the (spectator) eyes, all in all a solid team performance.

A strong Man Utd is only good for the PL.
[and this is coming from a Pool fan ; ) ]

  6. Anyone with a sub 30pt score what’s your thinking? I’m at a loss as to what to do anyone! Tempted to do nothing and just roll the transfer and write it off as a bad day at the office! Not going to be every week city and Chelsea get bear after all! The Aubameyang transfer out hurts but Hazard is a better option over the season (maybe), I am concerned about Salah on Boxing Day though as I don’t think we’ll be able to keep him quiet!

    • Rosco, I looked at your team earlier this eeek and wished it was mine. No need to panic. Personally I did Kane & Fraser our for Salah and Jimenez. I kept PEA as I think he’s great value

    • Yeah, don’t make any transfers imo (well depends a bit) but not on the more expensive players anyway, Haz is a great pick, just gotta stick with him!! Just stay patient, Salah has City soon and it’s a big big game, Pep might wanna tighten things up a bit after tonight!

    • Just staying put…28 points from 9 players – with 2 FT, unless someone is injured in SPURS/EVE game, I will probably roll 1.
Scoutlist is growing big: Auba, Haz, KDB, Martial, Rashford
Doubtlist: One or both of Fraser and Wilson (due to fixture), Jimenez, Kane, Lowe
      Wishlist: A pool defender smile

    • hey Rosco. A lot for me comes down to Kane. If he blanks he may be sold indirectly for Salah. I went for Hazard over Salah. Sold Auba. Enough said

I had expected / hoped that my ML rivals had similar poor scores. They dont. They are sprinkled with an Auba, Salah, VVD.

It does appear one of those weeks though with a share of blanks. My team looks decent enough for next week so figure it will be either Salah or nothing

      • Looks like we have similar pains this week mate! What can you do but shrug and move on!

    • Don’t worry Rosco, apparently I’m on 13! (according to some nob on WhatsApp anyway, hi AT 😉 ). To coincide / compound the day I’ve broken 2 ribs playing footy too!

      • Not good Init.

Was the overhead kick worth it then? 😉

I’ve heard you can’t do anything with broken ribs, breathe, sleep break wind or anything! You in hospital?

        • Am I heck! I’ve got a game again on Monday morning, told them I’d probably see them again on Monday afternoon smile

        • Yeah I used to try and play with cracked ribs as happened a few times with me. Breathing is really painful and you really feel it in the evening

      • Ouch ! Makes me feel slightly better about my 16 points ! smile

      • Hey init, that’s a horrible stuff mate. Last year, exactly a week before Christmas I broke my hip and ended in A&E under the knife. Wish you a speedy recovery!!

        • Sh*t, really?! I’ll take two cracked ribs over that any day!

        • Just ask for a higher dose of morphine, wash it down with a brandy and start with your transfers 😉 😆

      • Ahh shit man you ok ? ( ribs not FPL!) yeah a shocker of a week for both of us! What’s your plans I need some of your zen like calm!!

        • I plan to play again on Monday! Although I have been strongly advised against it, as you can imagine. We’ll see. I imagine it’ll kick in properly in the morning. On my 6th pint in Liverpool city centre as we speak so it’s kind of masking it.

FPL wise, these weeks happen, no biggie. See how Kane fares tomorrow. Good enough fixtures ahead but Salah and Kun are tempting too.

        • ya say thats masking it. Cracked a rib coughing last year. Had touch of flu n was in and out with doctor n shit as they didnt diagnose it. Doc rings me up – says “I dont think it cancer”….

          CRacked rib – was grand

Say your pints are influencing your thinking re Monday

      • You ok, mate?
        2 ribs?
Told you not to wear the “I’m still SINGLE” t-shirt anymore 😉 !!!

        Just kidding smile
        No, really…
        You fine,mate?
