Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 18. The silly season officially begins here. We have no less than 40 games spanning the next 14 days taking in 4 GW’s in total. We can but recommend you stick close to both our Fixture Tracker and our on-site Countdown Timer to keep track of when each GW begins, but as a helpful little ditty to perhaps take a ‘snap of’, the deadlines are as follows (all times are GMT) –

As for this GW we begin on Friday and end on Sunday with the majority of the games on Saturday for a pleasant change. Wolves and Liverpool kick us off this evening as the current league leaders look to put the pressure on their chasers by extending their overnight lead to 4 points over Man City.
Saturday begins with many an FPL manager sweating over the Arsenal line-up as they play host to an ever increasingly tight Burnley side. Six 3PM kick-offs follow with Bournemouth and Brighton both looking to regain some sort of form, Chelsea hoping to continue their own pursuit against Leicester, Huddersfield look to stop the new beer flowing against the Saints, Man City probably playing catch up against Palace, Newcastle hoping Mitro doesn’t come back to haunt them and West Ham look for 5 wins in a row for who knows how long as they host Watford.
Saturday evening could be intriguing as Cardiff look to take 3 points off fellow strugglers Man United.
Our only game on a barren Sunday is Everton vs Spurs. Harry Kane may not know it but this could be his final rehearsal for many FPL managers, especially if Kun shows up on Saturday.

If you enter and win a prize you have to have commented on the site at least 5 times for 8 consecutive months between August 2018 and March 2019 or you will not be considered for a prize. That’s basically 1 comment a week all season, we think that’s a reasonable ask to be considered a ‘regular’.

That wildcard side but with Eriksen instead of Sane, would cover everything!
I don’t think there is going to be any drastic price changes so think I’ll wait till tomorrow and watch Spurs. If Kane did not have Bournemouth at home I prob would have hit the button.
Not sure I’d go for Huddersfield goalies, though I appreciate money etc. But no.
Martial yes. And Shaw is a good punt. Didn’t realise he was so cheap: may get him as a replacement for Balbuena.
Have you given KdB any thought?
Yeah I hate the Huddersfield keeper bit. I’d be alright with Hart who is 4.5. But I’d only have 4.4. Yeah bit of a toss up between Sane and KDB who I think I’d prefer
Though could get Hart if I get Lovren instead of Doherty
I’d do some research and see – if it’s possible to work out – who B&HA’s reserve keeper is, because you’d have a playing 4m keeper for a bit.
Lovren is safeish for now but could become a benched ballache in a week or two.
Is Digne possible?
The Peltier presence I’m politely pretending not to notice.
I think it’s Button but not sure. Yeah Lovren is ok for now. Digne is 5 so would be stuck with Huddersfield keepers again. Bloody Peltier has a chance of going up 0.1. Cash flow problem and just pain in the ass
Smash, Aubameyang instead of Kun?
Yeah Auba and Ings I could do instead of Aguero and Jimenez. Prob gives me a bench player instead of Peltier just Ings has some nasty fixtures coming up
Smash, if you need a couple of pennies to balance the budget I would take a look at this Guaita fell from Calless. He is 4.2 and has been starting. I’m not sure what happened to Hennessy but 4.2 for a team that has kept six clean sheets in the league is a pretty good price if you ask me. Again, I’m not exactly sure what is going on with Hennessey, but if he’s either out for a while or has lost his place then I think this would be a good direction to go in!

Haven’t seen the game but I see Lingard did very well. So what move should I go for? Sterling and Alli to Martial and Salah or to Lingard and Martial.

Yeah that one. Sorry. It’s kind of dangerous jumping the boat after just 1 game. ANd it’s not like Sterling will do bad. I think Salah is a must though. Hazard maybe as well but I can’t afford both so I will go for a United option. But I need to see the game.
Alli has Bournemouth at home next ?
Martial had a lovely goal, but apart from that he wasn’t too threatful, Lingard got a penalty and a bit lucky goal at the end given Cardiff had stopped playing already, Martial should be a better pick going forward because he in general is a better player!
Martial and Lingard both done well at the important moments, but Pogba really caught my eye. 3 assists and everything was going through him – I’m planning how to bring him in this GW.

His first assist was cause he earned the free kick that Rashford scored, don’t get assists like that anymore, the second assist was for Herrera’s screamer, so he was very lucky there, I see him as a trap at the moment, he wasn’t very threatening to be honest, long shots and all that, Martial over him for me any day.
I get a sense – through very snatched, hazy info filtered through my imagination – that Pog was on the ball more but was in the box less than Martial.
When I’m umming and ahhing between two players I usually let money do the talking and go for the cheaper option. But I can see the appeal of an unfettered Pog playing with love in his heart.
Pogba often got to very advanced positions, but yeah of course Martial is/was a lot more offensive, could be a bit like Eriksen/Alli used to be, the other gets more goals but the other gets more assists, either could be great picks! Nonetheless, I’d pick Martial now, although I might be biased as I own Martial

Evening everyone, wasn’t going to look at my team too much over the festive period but as I was here doing all those H&L predictions I thought I’d take a break from rolling a dice and randomly assigning scores….. (I mean counting the scores!) to have a look at my team.
I see United did great but didn’t watch the match so were they really that good as SSN said they were very attacking and were fluid in passing or do we just ignore that as it was Cardiff they were playing? I’ll be honest I was thinking about getting Rashford or Martial or even one of the Utd defenders (Young maybe
) before this game due to their fixtures, so should I still be thinking of bringing one in or wait it out and see?
My most likely move would be:
Brooks to Martial or maybe Lingard after the game he had
or
David Luiz to Lindelof or Shaw
Brooks to Martial for me.
Yeah that’s what I’m thinking too just not sure if Martial will be nailed. Think Lingard is more likely to play.

Thinking Rashford, Hazard and Kamara in for Wilson, Fraser and Lacazette. I know points will be forfeited but, hey, it’s Christmas and I’m done with being careful as it’s getting me nowhere!
I like the moves just not the -8
I know, could just do Rashford for Wilson. Just feel I need to do something drastic as the amount of points I’ve been behind each week recently has far outweighed what it would be as a points hit.
+1 same here Swirls. Would you just do Laca and Fraser to Haz and Kamara? Gives you an extra game just to see if Rashford and United keep up today’s performance.
Yeah, I could afford that. Just thinking it’s Huddersfield at home next for them which could be a rout. Argh, whichever I do will be wrong anyway!
You could be right there! Maybe take the risk and just go with the -8 if it is a rout and Rash scores big and Haz does well against Watford you won’t even care about the hit.

I wouldn’t -8. Just the Wilson / Rashford swap should be enough. The team looks fine for Boxing Day.

Do I wildcard this GW or next? I still quite like the look of my team it just seems to be really inconsistent right now.
It’s quite a complicated time to wildcard, I would have thought, as you’ll be running smack into heavy rotation. But you’ve not much time to play it, now.
However your team is not too bad.
Maybe just scan the fixtures and draw up a shortlist of who you definitely want, going deep into January.
I’d hold a week. Maybe do a Mane/Silva out. Coming from a 23′ pointer

A so so week! On 44 with Richarlison and Son to play! Started the week on fire but from 3pm the games really let me down and I picked Sane as captain! I have 2 FTs with 0.1 itb. Do I need to do anything for the Boxing Day games? Should I be looking at Rashford/Martial/Pogba? Getting in KDB?
Wilson to Rashford is tempting.
Maybe keep Sane for now. Though I’m giving him the hairy eyeball myself. Pog and Martial are looking at me in a coquettish way. Their games are delicious and it’s honeymoon time.
I’m 0.1 short of a straight swap between Wilson and Rashford! Think I’d prefer to keep Wilson over Jimenez though.
To fund Wilson to Rashford, could you do Camarasa to Masuaku or Laporte to Digne (presuming he makes it through tomorrow ok)?
If, it is Jimeneze who goes, then the Digne option could still work.
