Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 18. The silly season officially begins here. We have no less than 40 games spanning the next 14 days taking in 4 GW’s in total. We can but recommend you stick close to both our Fixture Tracker and our on-site Countdown Timer to keep track of when each GW begins, but as a helpful little ditty to perhaps take a ‘snap of’, the deadlines are as follows (all times are GMT) –

GW18 Friday 21st December 7PM
GW19 Wednesday 26th December 11.30AM
GW20 Saturday 29th December 3PM
GW21 Tuesday 1st January 11.30AM

As for this GW we begin on Friday and end on Sunday with the majority of the games on Saturday for a pleasant change. Wolves and Liverpool kick us off this evening as the current league leaders look to put the pressure on their chasers by extending their overnight lead to 4 points over Man City.

Saturday begins with many an FPL manager sweating over the Arsenal line-up as they play host to an ever increasingly tight Burnley side. Six 3PM kick-offs follow with Bournemouth and Brighton both looking to regain some sort of form, Chelsea hoping to continue their own pursuit against Leicester, Huddersfield look to stop the new beer flowing against the Saints, Man City probably playing catch up against Palace, Newcastle hoping Mitro doesn’t come back to haunt them and West Ham look for 5 wins in a row for who knows how long as they host Watford.

Saturday evening could be intriguing as Cardiff look to take 3 points off fellow strugglers Man United.

Our only game on a barren Sunday is Everton vs Spurs. Harry Kane may not know it but this could be his final rehearsal for many FPL managers, especially if Kun shows up on Saturday.

*terms and conditions apply and are available upon request. Management reserve the right to review membership of this league on an ongoing basis. If you enter and win a prize you have to have commented on the site at least 5 times for 8 consecutive months between August 2018 and March 2019 or you will not be considered for a prize. That’s basically 1 comment a week all season, we think that’s a reasonable ask to be considered a ‘regular’.

    • Ha ha I’ll try and make some money out of Lingard and Rashford but if not this is what it looks like

      • Hmm, I like your conservative approach with keeping expensive Salah Smash but how many clean sheets do you expect from Hart? What would be the set up with Lingard and Rashford?

        • If I make 0.1 out of Rashford or Zlingard I can keep Fabianski. Burnley have a decent run of fixtures now

        • That is true, three home games in the next four. When it comes to finances, you are the head of that department 🙂

        obviously, I like it very much since it is close to what I have in mind (comment 186), I swear written before I have read your proposal!

        The difference between our teams are that you have Kane as a premium while I have Auba, which then allows me to keep Robertson instead of Lovren, and to afford Fabianski instead of Hart.
        The one thing that bothers me in your case is Hart. I hope that you can get the 0.1 your need to buy him. Other than that, your pair Kane/Lovren might very well outperform my Auba/Robbie.

      • Like it, Smash! I’d suggest getting Lingard instead of KDB (that’s your interim idea anyway, no?) so you can keep Fabianski and maybe bring in TAA instead of Lovren.

  2. I’ve changed Camarasa for Lingard this week but now I’m not sure who to bench? And ive been without MC cover since Aguero injury but now I’m getting nervous.

        • Jambo sana. I’ve not worked out how you get the team to show. I’ve always had to use two phones and take a pic from one.

        • On the FPL website, go to “View Gameweek History” and copy the URL. Then go to this website, go to “Profile / Change Password” and in the “Website” field paste the URL. Then people can see your team by clicking on your name. If you want to attach a graphic of your team without using a second phone, you need to take a screenshot and then attach it from your photos file. (Not all phones have that feature, though.)

        • I wouldnt bring Son in now.Likely to be rotated next game and off to the asian games in January !

        • Bees, I’d be worried about Son not starting on Boxing Day. That being said, Sane might not either. I’m considering Sane -> KDB as I think he’ll be nailed on if he’s fully fit now.

          Want to move out Laporte soon too. Not worth the money.

  4. It’s one of those “good problems” to have, but I can’t see how to use a FT this week. Maybe Sane -> KDB? I don’t like the lack of Pool or United or Hazard.
    Also, all 5 defenders have good fixtures. Who to play?

    • Play Robertson, Alonso and Doherty. Possibly do you think KDB is better than Sane I’m torn between the two. That or swap Pickford

      • + 1 great minds think alike.

      • Pickford now has an amazing run of fixtures. Today they just caught Spurs on a great day. I’m planning on keeping him for the next 8 or so matches.
        I think KDB will be more nailed long term, but any given week it’s sort of a crapshoot. I think Sane gets rested this week though.

  5. Evening. Bit of a random one for you all but… are there any daily fantasy games out there that use FPL points or similar player values? I’ve used draft kings and starting 11 before but would prefer something more familiar laugh

    The Spurs definitely killed my GW. I have transferred Kane out from Hazard this week…
    I think that I will WC. What would you think about this team?

    To afford this quality of mids, and keep a premium striker, I have to be very light in defense, and live with an average second forward…

      (A pity to sacrifice Anderson just now, but I really need every pound I can scratch!)

      • Yeah, I like the WC team – it looks a step or two ahead of the average “template”, and that could pay off nicely for you

        That is not exactly true.
        True is that I had not seen your team before coming out with mine.
        Hozever, my team is heavily inspired by the brillant articles of FF247, and by what I read on the forum – where you contribute a lot!
        So it is actually a copy of part of yours, of Mito’s, Cookie’s, Pancho’s, Innit’s, etc. My only contribution is to mess your good insights up!
