Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 18. The silly season officially begins here. We have no less than 40 games spanning the next 14 days taking in 4 GW’s in total. We can but recommend you stick close to both our Fixture Tracker and our on-site Countdown Timer to keep track of when each GW begins, but as a helpful little ditty to perhaps take a ‘snap of’, the deadlines are as follows (all times are GMT) –

GW18 Friday 21st December 7PM
GW19 Wednesday 26th December 11.30AM
GW20 Saturday 29th December 3PM
GW21 Tuesday 1st January 11.30AM

As for this GW we begin on Friday and end on Sunday with the majority of the games on Saturday for a pleasant change. Wolves and Liverpool kick us off this evening as the current league leaders look to put the pressure on their chasers by extending their overnight lead to 4 points over Man City.

Saturday begins with many an FPL manager sweating over the Arsenal line-up as they play host to an ever increasingly tight Burnley side. Six 3PM kick-offs follow with Bournemouth and Brighton both looking to regain some sort of form, Chelsea hoping to continue their own pursuit against Leicester, Huddersfield look to stop the new beer flowing against the Saints, Man City probably playing catch up against Palace, Newcastle hoping Mitro doesn’t come back to haunt them and West Ham look for 5 wins in a row for who knows how long as they host Watford.

Saturday evening could be intriguing as Cardiff look to take 3 points off fellow strugglers Man United.

Our only game on a barren Sunday is Everton vs Spurs. Harry Kane may not know it but this could be his final rehearsal for many FPL managers, especially if Kun shows up on Saturday.

*terms and conditions apply and are available upon request. Management reserve the right to review membership of this league on an ongoing basis. If you enter and win a prize you have to have commented on the site at least 5 times for 8 consecutive months between August 2018 and March 2019 or you will not be considered for a prize. That’s basically 1 comment a week all season, we think that’s a reasonable ask to be considered a ‘regular’.

  1. Evening everyone, how are you all? I was originally planning on Brooks to Martial but with Chica probably being out injured should I do one of the following?

    A. Chica to Rashford
    B. Chica and Brooks to Rashford and Lingard or Richarlison
    C. Chica and David Luiz to Rashford and Vertonghen (or someone else)
    D. Leave Chica and just go with the original plan
    E. Something I haven’t thought of

    B and C would be for a -4 hit

        • 5 goals for 5 million is decent though. Not saying don’t sell but you could try to ride it out (even if on the bench).

          I would say Chicarito, Success and Duffy were bigger problems for you.

        • That’s a good point and I was thinking of bringing him back in after GW30 anyway.

          Success will probably stay there to be honest. I’m leaning towards the idea of playing a 352/442 formation anymore. The 3 up top just hasn’t worked for me this season.

          What do you think of Chica and Duffy to Rashford and Alderweireld? I’d still have 0.6 itb

        • Sounds strong. VVD achievable (if you were ok with double Liverpool)?

        • VVD is achievable but I kind of feel that would be tempting faith and putting a bad omen on Liverpool.

          I said this to Rosco a few weeks back that I would rather take a -58 every week, have every player red flagged and finish bottom of my ML if it meant Liverpool kept up their form and won the league haha. Might do it and if Liverpool start conceding then he’s gone :hippo:

    • A for me, although B might be good too depending on your team! Is Brooks your 4th or 5th mid? Playing 3-4-3? Gotta sell Chica as Arnie could be back soonish anyway.

  2. What would you do here with 2 FTs? Not really fancying sacrificing anyone for Hazard or Salah (just yet), so I’m willing to roll with the attackers. So my current thinking is Dunk —> Wan Bissaka and have 2FTs going forward! What say you?

    • Sounds good to me mate, you could also go Dunk to Lindelof or Lovren? Or are you trying to downgrade to use that ,money elsewhere?

      • Not really downgrading, just though the extra money could come in handy! But yeah, Lovren is a great shout actually, didn’t think of him!

      • Don’t know how long he’ll keep his spot but should be safe for a few more GWs

    • Yes. Or what could you do with Deulofeu? Lingard for a punt?

      • Can’t afford, plus Deolofeu has finally started getting me some point, he was very unlucky to get 2 assists yesterday too, was a victim of horrendous finishing by Deeney! After Chelsea he has delicious fixtures, I think I’m sticking for now!

    • How about Shaw so that you could rotate around your players the next few weeks? Just conscious double Liverpool would mean you’d have at least one playing Arsenal next gameweek and I’m not so convinced they’d keep a clean sheet.

      • Plus City after that, yeah perhaps the double up isn’t ideal right now… Shaw would have good fixtures, it’s just that I still don’t trust United to keep a cleanie…

    • Good idea. The team looks fine for Boxing Day but the bench is critical; W-B will push for a starting place.

      • He has a great fixture against Cardiff on Boxing Day! I might even play him instead of Deulofeu…

    • Still very early days under OGS. His next selection will be interesting. Of those two, you would have to think Pogba would be more assured of not now being dropped (purely on star value), no?

    • Pogba for me (at the moment). Not a lot in it, however, and as Martial is cheaper then you may as well go for him. I favour the Pog slightly because I think he may get more minutes.

    Any Spurs fans on the boards atm?

    I’m thinking of going Kane to Auba and Fraser to Son with 2 ft’s but I’m wondering how nailed Son is going forward?

    • Not a Spur Hatter but Son wouldn’t be on a transfer in list for me, despite form, due to him leaving in January on international duty. If you have him I wouldn’t sell but a transfer waiting to happen and that doesn’t do it for me. I would keep Kane because of that.

      Unless you’re wildcarding early in the new year.

      • Just my opinion Hatters. If you think he can return in most of the matches before he goes, I’d hate to put you off.

        I just personally wouldn’t bring him in. It might suit you.

    • I just bought Son. Too good form to ignore even if just for 4 games. He can then leave to Asia.
