Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 18
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 18.
Remember back when a midweek fixture was an exciting rarity? It is hardly an uncommon occurrence these days and one to which we shall be treated to quite a few more times before the season is up. There are in fact three of these in the next five GW’s and even one of those (DGW19) straddles a midweek.
As for this one it begins on Tuesday at 6pm as Sheffield and Newcaste unite to see who can score the least goals. Then at 8.15pm Burnley host half the games captain in the shape of Bruno. At the same time Wolves welcome Everton.
Wednesday begins at 6pm with the other halves captain (KdB) hosting Brighton. Spurs (now) welcome a reluctant Fulham at 8.15pm.
Arsenal and Palace see us out on Thursday at 8pm.
And don’t forget that once the above GW ends on Thursday evening the next one begins on Saturday and that one is a double so get your planning sorted early doors!
The games in full…

Kane on only 2 baps.
Oh well, better than Bruno and KDB 😀
:smoke:
what a shitty Free Hit so far :big-lol: Only Arsenal left to save it! Uh-oh! :good:
On the plus side for everyone feeling bad about their GW – I am currently on 17 points  :laugh2:
So Spurs held Fulham to get a draw
I’d offer to hold your coat but there’s a bit of a morgue vibe.
Will you bring in a MC attacker? Son for KDB…very two minded about this.
Hope your week is going well.
KdB has some pretty ace fixtures stretching from now until the Liverpool game I think. I can think of a lot worse punts. In fact punt is the wrong word given his calibre.
I know one of the main issues with Son is his very high ownership, and fear of that maybe but KdB could significantly outscore him. But if it doesn’t work out it’s a very easy swap.
Main appeal though, frankly, is their defence. Could be a steady stream of ‘banker’ type points there, help keep things chugging along.
Thank Kralin. We have all of 2 days to figure it out!
Figure it out now and don’t look back.
I know you are joking but I genuinely thought Fulham were a bit unlucky not to score and get the 3 points, especially towards the end of the game.
I’m not really. Watching the game Fulham probably deserved the win
Clearly Fulham should just stop training. They seem to play better
Am I going mad or did Leeds have a double week that’s now a single?
You’re going mad.
No, see earlier comments – I think a cup game has been rescheduled and that’s put the mockers on the Leeds DGW.
Ahh ok thanks.
All these fuxture changes are a nightmare, i’ve seen somewhere else talk about the previously cancelled villa v Newcastle being put into wk 19 so they might have a double now after all even if the everton game is called off
I’m quite enjoying the randomness of it, to be honest, though one of the changes caused me to nearly keek my kecks with worry.
It’s like a demonic chip being played against us.
Villa v Newcastle could possibly come in at 24th/25th Jan since they are both out of the FA cup. But it’s unlikely because that fixture can easily go to midweek 23 or any CL/EL midweek
If you want a really random selection PL could move LEE v SOT and give them a vacancy in GW37
Sorry, meant LEE v EVE from GW22
Leeds and Saints both did. But don’t now. But may still both do if they get forced to play someone else. Who doesn’t even know about it. And has another game at the same time anyway, somewhere else. Forget planning ahead, you may as well play pin the tail in the donkey.
Sighhh. I was giving myself a pat on the back last night for navigating these two weeks with no chips and a full 11 DGW players. Oh well
The person ranked 1st in the world has been there since GW10. That’s pretty impressive!
Kane and Son’s 2nd and 4th GW ownership has changed it all for many. Around 120 points lead from these two weeks/players. Sadly, I was not one of them.
Yeah I’ve not recovered from that either
So I have made 22 points more with my FH team than I would have if I hadn’t used my FH chip. Is that ok? I think it’s no more than ok. Obviously it’s more than zero and it’s not a massive number (which in part is due to already having Kane as captain prior to FH). Thoughts?
Well, you had 2 FTs and would’ve got Wilson and Rashford for the FTs, i believe. That makes you placed at 35 points, if I’m not calculating incorrectly.
I have so much time. Haha
Well if we’re going into the details…..
I made 2FTs early on, bringing in Smith-Rowe and Holding for Balbuena and Reidewald. It was the subsequent Villa cancellation and DCL injury that made me decide to play the FH chip.
In my calculations I have assumed that Holding (prior to FH) cancels out Leno (post-FH).
Therefore the players I would not have had if I had not played the FH are:
Maguire 6
Dier 2
KDB 6
Rashford 6
Wilson 2
Hence 22 points.
Haha OK. What about the players who would’ve played the GW.
Dias-7
Bruno- 2
Son- 2
Kane-16(c)
Smith-Rowe(still to play)
Plus additional Holding and Riedewald(if he starts) points.
That’s 27 + common Smith Rowe points) + Holding and Riedewald points(may be 3 in total). So, may be 19 points additional. Given Holding doesn’t get a CS.
but Constantine – is it GOOD ENOUGH?! Is an additional 20 points a successful use of FH?! :scratch_one-s_head:
Depends GentleBenBKA.
Usually any chip should give you atleast 1.5 – 2 times the average(i think).
You are good for this week , but the result could change dramatically for a DGW. 1.5 times a 60 points average week is 30 additional points. So, 30 is always better than 20.
30 definitely better than 20. Better job security, you know who your real friends are, appreciation for blue cheese, etc.
22 seems fine to me. And at least you’ve played it now so don’t have to go into overthink overdrive at another time.
I think I’d judge my score against the average – see how I did once all the dust has settled.
Thanks Kralin. I agree. The weight of that particular chip no longer on my shoulders is a huge relief.
