Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 18
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 18. And we are back. Again! Get used to the quick turnaround as it is exciting times right now. Presents to buy? Turkeys to prepare? Nah, screw that, it’s football time! Leicester and Palace kick off a bumper weekend that goes all the way through until Monday night this time. They get going at lunch-time on Saturday and are followed by five 3pm games. Saturday evening sees possibly the game of the week as Man City host Spurs in what is a truly mouth-watering clash.
Sunday has two games with Man united visiting Pardew and his West Brom team first, followed by Bournemouth hosting Liverpool. Or at least whichever version of Liverpool Klopp chooses to actually place on the field this time.
We continue through to Monday with Allardyce faced with a home game he is expected to win. Grinding out away draws are more his speciality so this one could be testing as Swansea roll up, legs akimbo.

Evening all.
After sone awful weeks im Pretty happy with 43 And Ddg, salah and DCL to play. Just annoyed i drunkenly transferred morata in for firmino last night!
What’s everyone’s plan for richarlison going forward? He has really good fixtures but something appears to be missing from his game atm
Certainly concern there hammers, It seems almost as if Watford has lost something overall. I think I’m holding for now as he’s still guaranteed starts.
Would I be crazy swapping hazard to kdb, to give me funds for richarlison to zaha?
I don’t see that as crazy at all hammers… De Bruyne is about as consistent as you can get, even for that money… and though Hazard shows his pedigree one week, he seems to go quiet for a few just after… I don’t like to see him up top (well, actually I do when I don’t own him). Zaha looks great lately but I’d keep my eye on Lanzini as well in that bracket.
Yeah thought about lanzini too. Especially with that dgw coming
Yeah. Finishing.
After the Everton debacle, Silva seems to be working very hard to get himself sacked.Otherwise, how can one explain these silly loses after Watford refused him to joining Everton.
Injuries and suspensions.
True Cookie, injuries and suspension have had impact on the results. Me think we just have high expectations of Silva after setting high standards for himself at Hull and first few games at Watford and would have expected him to grind result ( at least draws) with the available players.
From what we have seen of Silva in England, he has had a brilliant initial spell at both Hull and Watford and then it’s dried up – ended in relegation for Hull.
There is only so much he can do with
a) a limited quality within a squad and
b) loads of injuries and suspensions – Watford just don’t have the squad depth to cope, which is understandable I guess.
Very unfortunate, we wont be able to capitalize on their favorable fixtures
Richarlison had chances yesterday and remains an excellent option.
However, there are now some serious alternatives in the price range…..Zaha, Arnie, Lanzini…..
I’m not so sure here Cookie. He’s great at setting his teams for counter attack. Not so great for continuos attack and possession play, especially when his team is the supposed favorite for the game. Injuries and suspension and phew solutions have of course had its influence but I’m not surprised to see watford fail when you least expect them to and thrive when you don’t see it coming. That said, 1-4 at home to Huddersfield would be the odd result here. He’ll get them back in the mix. On that note, Gray could now be a good option upfront given Deeney’s red. More so if Gray scores in the ones he’s out.
Good chat DMC – so should we consider dumping Richarlison?
Not necessarily. I was chatting more on the Silva/watford tactics than their players FPL potential. However you surely make a good case regarding other inform players in his range. Plus , with the fatigue signs that Silva has also highlighted he may get the odd game out – he has never played such number of games in such short period of time so yeah Zaha and Lanzini may well score more than him over the festive period. That said, each ones team will dictate that move given other possible priorities. By no means I’m saying sell – you expect him to still be good value.
Greetings FPL brethren, hope everybody had an acceptable-ish Saturday, though there were certainly some surprises. A little early crowd sourcing to see what kind of snap judgments you’d all make. 2FT 0.7ITB. I’m worried about Kolasinac and Groß has certainly got to go. This is how I would currently line up next week. Any thoughts?
Wouldn’t be rushing to sell GroB ahead of Watford at home the way they are defending right now.
Good point init… probably just downgrade Kola this week then and watch the wire for any news.
Go for Ogbonna 4-3 and spread the cash and improve your team over the next few weeks
Evening everyone, Has anyone seen GP?? Or is he hiding after talking me out of doing Ramsey to Lanzini last week?? 😉
I always press confirm on my own, GP does yours does he Matt? 😉
No he just put enough doubt in my head to stop me pressing the button.
Fair enough, hang him out to dry then.
Or just accept that you didn’t have the strength of your own conviction?
I like the first choice haha 😉 But internally I’m beating myself up and trying to work out who to drop to finally bring him in.
Drop Matt, bring in GP! :hippo:
Hey Matt, he was on a works do last night. This morning he was off out to cure his hangover, which probably means supping the pub dry in Scotland. :big-lol:
Thinking about my post above. Why hasn’t Silvers moved up to Jockland ?
Good evening
Hangover ?
I’m fine thank you. Kinda.
Really? For Salah to put his feet up and watch the match when Klopp says rest time? Got to happen sometime!!
Kruz, little bit of talk about Mane + Mo being the 2 rested for tomorrow.
I have Salah and although Klopp says he is a fit guy I think it could be his time for a rotational rest, unless he needs to be thrown on to dig them out of the mire. I would prefer them to play a strong team and win the game before resting the players. But we all saw what happened in Sevilla!!
Happy with my score so far. Everyone contributed (except Kane!) and still got Salah, Firmino, DDG & DLC to play.
Not happy with Firmino’s game time of late, so thinking Azpi, Hazard & Firmino to Christensen, KDB & Morata for a -4. Good moves?
Wouldn’t be doing those Benny. I can’t see Morata getting any more or less time than Firmino will.
Cheers Init.
Realised I could so straight Haz to KDB, so might just do that. I’ll have about 1.7 itb to play with after that as well.
Seen West Hams fixtures through to February and a missed GW with a double to follow? Clear sailing through to the middle of Feb with only Spuds to worry about . Rambo to Lanzini looks to be the way forward for me!!
Speak to GP before making that move 😉
Absolutely. Go for it Kruz.
No-brainer.
