Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 19. WAKEY, WAKEY! Christmas is over. It’s FPL time again! You’ve had your day off and as much as we hope you enjoyed your turkey and wine it’s business time again. We’ve even posted this an hour earlier than normal as a big fat warning that GW19 starts today at 11.30am.

It’s a whirlwind GW this one as we start today with no less than 9 games on Wednesday and finish tomorrow with just the one outlier. We then get Friday off before we begin again on Saturday. Fulham and Wolves open Boxing Day for us at 12.30pm before we see 12 teams contest 6 games at 3pm and there are some big hitters featured in there with Man City, Liverpool and Spurs all in action. Man United play too.

Brighton and Arsenal play at tea-time at 5.15pm before Watford host Chelsea in the evening game at 7.30pm.

Saints vs West Ham finishes us off on Thursday at 7.45pm.

That’s basically 1 comment a week all season, we think that’s a reasonable ask to be considered a ‘regular’.

  1. Need help to break 10k…crucial junction due to sudden abundance of options.
    Dropped from 20k to 30k..still can’t digest Digne and Lovren’s points – can only blame myself.
    Last season by now I would have taken 8 points hit seeing the price changes yesterday night – this season I am bit patient and thus missed all those price rise/falls.

    Any advice – what to do? 2 FT and 0.2m ITB (not ideal for any upgrade). Suddenly my good team looks bad as I missed all heavy hitting of Haz, Son, Pogba etc. Stuck with Sane (City) – not sure how are they planning to bounce back.

    • The key thing in your team is you have too much tied up in your bench player from your front 8. Choose a formation and downgrade that man accordingly. You could for example turn Wilson into Kamara and you have your money to turn Sane into Hazard.

      • (1) Which one will you lose between Jimenez and Wilson? I personally like Wilson (as BOU is more attacking – but overall their current performance has a terrible dip). Want to see Ings today.
        (2) Hazard, Son, Pogba – what should be the priority to get them in? Son has 3 weeks to go – probably I missed the train.

        • I have Wilson and I’m keeping him ( possibly for the season) so if you can down Jiminez then him. I’ve brought in Pogba, have Hazard and getting salah back. I’d love son but couldn’t afford him and by the time I can he’ll be off (obviously I could bring him in instead of Salah but choosing not to. Sorry that doesn’t answer your question, but reading between the lines you kind of get and answer of sorts!!

        • Thanks Roscoe – thats sound enough suggestion. Now I am back to drawing board – slowly to fit them in – hoping no injury.

    • GoalMachine, I respectfully (but completely!) disagree with Rosco. From now on till the very last few GWs it’s worth having 12 or 13 good outfield players (and no bad thing to have two active goalies as well). You can raise cash by selling Alonso and buying a Liverpool defender. There’s even a case for also selling Lowe and buying two Liverpool defenders (I think you could afford Lovren and TAA/Robertson). If you don’t want Liverpool defenders then Pereira could be a good alternative. Another option could be to keep Lowe but use the cash from the Alonso trade to upgrade Anderson to Pogba.

  2. Hi guys.
    So without any Salah, Hazard or Kane, I still had two very decent gameweeks, mostly thanks to Son.
    Now I have 2 FTS and 0.9 itb, what would you do with this lot?
    I was thinking Laca and Brooks to Kamara and Hazard, just realised I just have the money to do that.

    • Those look sound moves.

    • Frenchie, if you take a hit will you be able to do Laca/Sane/Brooks- Kamara/Hazard/Pogba ?

      • Thanks but I don’t think I want to do Sane to Pogba for a hit.
        I wouldn’t even do it without a hit.

        • Perhaps you are right. United are getting confusing as well.
          I have three of them and only got an assist from Lingard with Martial calling sick.

        • Did you watch the City match? How did Sane play?

        • To be honest I would consider that kind of move, but only next week when City faces Liverpool.
          This week they’re facing Southampton so I want to give them one more chance.
          I watched only a part of the game GM, it felt to me that Sane was a bit too close to the touch line most of the time, but he’s always capable of being dangerous.
          My only worry is the potential rotation, but I think I want to keep Sterling and Sane one last time if possible for this game.

        • From player ratings etc it sounds like Sane played the best out of Man C’s midfield. Of course I still wish I hadn’t sold Son to get him…

    • I like those moves!

  3. Latest draft – what’s your thoughts?

    My 2 main concerns:

    1) Obviously no Salah
    2) Lots left on the bench, need to have a proper look at how everyone rotates but Ings/Snodgrass can hopefully cover each other’s tough games

    • Option with Salah

      • Salah team though not convinced on Trippier

        But I must say that my choices were very close to Smash’s, so no wonder we have the saem feeling!
        What about Trippier to a 4.5, and Kamara to Jimenez? You may miss a couple of 0.1, that you could get by doing Holebas->Femenia?

    • I prefer the Salah team EBC. if you downgrade Holebas can you upgrade Ings? If Kane was rotated you’d struggle up front.

      • There’s not a lot out there in the 5.5>6.5 range.

        Deeney maybe?
        Jimenez/King would be top of my budget but have tough fixtures so probably no better than Ings

  4. Sell Auba (Liverpool) to Hazard with 2FTs? Yay or nay? smile

    • It depends what the other transfer is.
      And what the rest of your team looks like smile

      • Here it is, something like Auba/Anderson —> Hazard/Ings? Well Ings has a bad game this weekend… Would you just downgrade Alonso then? smile

        • So if it’s Auba/Anderson to Hazard/Ings, I personally wouldn’t do it, just because of fixtures, but I suppose many people would still do it.
          Downgrade Alonso to Digne is a possibility. I’m a bit reluctant to do it myself for now because Chelsea have good fixtures, but definitely

    • Even as an ARS fan, if I look at 1 to 1 comparison, I believe Haz looks better prospect than Auba.

      • Unless we fix our def. in January window – knowing the history, ARS will not spend big in January.

      • How about Alonso to Digne? I’m starting to get sick of Marcos…

        • Holding till 25…these set include the matches where he got all those 11-13 points – no guarantee though, but since holding so long, might worth a few more GWs.

  5. Morning gang. I’ve brought in Salah for a -4 so I’m fairly certain he’ll be rested. 😉 Just a little pre-New Year’s word of warning for those FPL-ers near and dear to me.

  6. Thoughts on this draft?

    • Also thinking of Doherty -> Shaw

    • Looks good although having no City is perhaps the flavor of the moment but they won’t be this poor until the end of the season!

      • Form + Rotation, Pep’s roulette doesn’t help

      • 3 premium players is probably the limit so for me it’s down to:

        Hazard
        Kane
        One of Auba/Salah/Man City

        Problem with Man City options is that you can’t rely on them as captain because of rotation risk.

        • I’ve got Salah, Hazard, Kane and KDB. I’m fairly happy with that. Unfortunately as much as I’d love to have Auba I just can’t afford him. You are right not sure how you can captain a City player. I’m hoping KDB finds some form and stays fit Sane is a fall back option
