Some games may occur, don’t ask us which…

We’ve written and re-written this about four times now this week. Which, quite frankly, is about three times more than we wanted to. We think that the following is about to happen. But in all honesty if it doesn’t, or if it changes again, please feel free to make up your own narrative and pretend that’s what we bothered to write instead because there will be no 5th!

We won’t list the lot (a picture is worth a 1000 words etc) but in short we begin with Wolves vs West Brom at Saturday lunchtime, and then we have 4 more games later on that day, 3 on Sunday, 1 on Monday, 2 on Tuesday, 2 on Wednesday, 1 on Thursday and we eventually conclude a truly long double game-week, over 7 days after it began, on the following Saturday evening at 8pm with Aston Villa v Newcastle. If Villa can be bothered to turn up. 15 or so games in total which means that 11 teams get to play twice. In theory.

  1. What do you think about Cancelo in fpl? He looks like City best or joint-best player almost every game and I am shocked he somehow has 1 attacking return so far! I am considering change of formation and double up on City defence, as they really have some beautiful fixtures there. Walker’s injury and Cancelo’s rest against Palace might mean he is as nailed as you can be (under Pep) for the next 3?
    Holding will be the one making way for him. Yay or nay?

    • Looks dangerous every time he plays. Hopefully only a matter of time before he delivers the goods. Would sat double up on city defence is the way to go. Hopefully they can keep getting clean sheets

    • Depends on the Walker injury for me. He looks great falls to bits a bit in the box maybe but great value

        I have Stones atm and I’m debating whether I should double up. Who should I go for between Cancelo and Dias (if I did bring second city def)?

    • I brought him in for this gameweek. He did well! Really forward-thinking at times – Martinez saved a shot yesterday that was goal-bound.

      • He hit the bar as well and it’s not the first time this season.

  2. Leading up to the DGW I took a punt on Kane>Vardy. I don’t think that paid off to well. Kane did not do much either so it was a wash really. I probably should have taken a points hit to bring in some one else as well. Oh well this week can’t get over soon enough. Praying for some sort of miracle from Salah and Robbo today but I won’t hold my breath. I’ve fallen 189K places this week. Onward and upwards right…?

    What to do with this lot? I had a thought of KdB in for Salah depending on how today went but that is out now. Thinking as Zouma seems to have fallen out of favor I would bring in Dias or Justin for him. I’ll keep Vardy for a week or so more. His fixtures look good. I’m still watching Salah today and will cut him if he blanks again, just not sure for who considering KdB is probably out for a bit. What are your thoughts on the team below.

    • Zouma for a city Def I would say

      • Since I posted I have been tinkering with Zouma for Dias and March for Gundogan for a 4PH.

      • Or Zouma>Stones, March>Gundo and Adams>Antonio for -8.

  3. Most likely going to do kdb to son. Then I would be tempted to triple up in city defence. Is that mad.

  4. So it looks like I will get 100+ points I still think though I should have been close to 200 with my team.

    Does anyone know what the most points in a GW has ever been?

    • Can’t believe your TC there…

      • why? he’s in form, scoring the last few GW’s and playing against rubbish teams at home.

        • Nah, he scored a couple of goals, no explosive potential to him.

        • As I said the other night – and I feel your pain, Terminator, it’s a bummer – it was a one in 20 shot at best. How many chances, realistically, was he likely to get?

          When captaining it’s never a bad thing to think of ceilings. How high was Soucek’s, realistically?

        • He’s a defensive midfielder that’s good in the air. It was nuts

        • But could have paid off. Had a decent enough week I think

    • Closer to 200?! :rofl: 4 of them were SGW players too!

  5. Is this ok for next GW?

    • I think I’d start Bamford over Antonio but that’s a tough call (emotionally, given what’s happened this GW). Or over Grealish maybe.

      I’ve gone for Fernandes as captain (for now anyway, will see about KdB) so we agree there.

    • Where’s Soucek gone?! :rofl: #ruthless

      • I do get an uneasy feeling sometimes that Terminator is taking us all for a ride. Is just spoofing us all.

        But maybe that’s me being touchy that whatever suggestions I ever make are always ignored / not engaged with.

        In reality, Soucek has been an utterly fantastic asset this season.

        • I guess the big question really is; ‘Will he be back’.

        • That is what I thought, in the post above people were ridiculing me for TCing Soucek and saying he isn’t that good.

        • Term, there’s no ridicule there, they are simply saying he’s not / wasn’t / ever will be a TC candidate.

          Take heed of what Kralin says about potential ceilings, that’s the best advice / learning you can take from that experience. For any Captain pick, never mind the TC one.

  6. Which is the better option between Maddison and Barnes?

    Planning to do
    1. KDB & Anguissa to Maddison/Barnes & 11.5M mid.
    2. KDB & Bamford/Adams to Maddison/Barnes & Kane
    Both for -4
