Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 19

Some games may occur, don’t ask us which…

We’ve written and re-written this about four times now this week. Which, quite frankly, is about three times more than we wanted to. We think that the following is about to happen. But in all honesty if it doesn’t, or if it changes again, please feel free to make up your own narrative and pretend that’s what we bothered to write instead because there will be no 5th!

We won’t list the lot (a picture is worth a 1000 words etc) but in short we begin with Wolves vs West Brom at Saturday lunchtime, and then we have 4 more games later on that day, 3 on Sunday, 1 on Monday, 2 on Tuesday, 2 on Wednesday, 1 on Thursday and we eventually conclude a truly long double game-week, over 7 days after it began, on the following Saturday evening at 8pm with Aston Villa v Newcastle. If Villa can be bothered to turn up. 15 or so games in total which means that 11 teams get to play twice. In theory.

Here is the GW in all its glory;

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Hey guys. Hope the DGW was good to you.
    Have 2FT and 0.6 itb
Wood to Antonio would be one transfer.
KdB should most likely be the other one. Who do I go for ?
Also would a -4 to remove Soucek for a better (higher priced) player (Grealish/Maddison) be unnecessary since I have Saka as a 4th mid ?
Having a relatively good season so don’t know if I should take risks to go higher or play safe.

Keen to start thinking how to use my FT.

    KDBs gotta go right?

    1FT and 0.5m

Liking Justin, Maddo and Antonio right now in general.

    Good evening, everyone!

I won’t do anything before Tuesday but here is what I am thinking on that early stage. I have 1 FT, 1.7 M.

Holding to Dias/Cancelo & KdB to Foden/Maddison/Tielemans/Rashford/Son (no idea yet) and will probably bench Adams in this scenario.
I know I don’t need to take a hit but it’s one for the future.

    What do you think?

      Gavy says:

I think kdb has to go. If hes missing more then 3/4 that’s way to much funds for the bench.

From the names above I’d look at foden or rashford (fixtures look best)

If you fancy a gamble Maddison, son or even abu could be worth a punt.

Personally would fancy Tielemans. As a cdm I don’t like his price

      • Tornado says:

        Thanks for the input, Gavy!

        It’s tricky, isn’t it?!

        My thought process:
Foden/Gundo or even Sterling are the ones to target with those great fixtures ahead but KDB’s injury lessens their appeal a bit, I think. Also, Pep roulette etc…

Son is the logical choice, I believe, I just don’t like Spurs’ form and schedule and I already have Kane in my team.

Rashford has always been a bit of a hit and miss.

Maddison looks great but Vardy’s absence is a big loss for Leicester and that might affect him.

Tielemans is an ultra differential whom I only consider because he is the designated penalty taker when Vardy is not on the pitch.

I will probably change my mind about 1829 times and then make the wrong decision but that’s why we all love this bloody game, right?!

I will get some more data and opinions and reassesssmile

For KdB I’d be looking at Zaha…… :sarcastic_hand:

Okay okay, I think Rash, Son, or Grealish would be the names I’d look for in your case.

Not sure I rate Maddison over any of those, especially with Vardy out the next few games.

Pogba could be an interesting punt too.

      Kralin says:

I’d prioritise moving KdB on. No need for a hit. Plenty of discussion on here as to who, with Son, Gundogan / Foden (the former seems safer in terms of selection) or Maddison / Barnes all vying for your attention.

Given that you’re a tad thin on the ground re City (with KdB a gonner), maybe this is an opportunity to correct that?

    Grizzly13ear says:

Hope everyone is well! Would take out kdb and firmino for a -8 for Son and Kane? Or is that too much this week? Would it be better to get in Madd/Barnes Grealish?

    • 244.1
      inittowinit says:

Probably both good moves for the future, if not necessarily this week given Liverpool’s defensive solidity as of late, and Jose’s likely approach to that! It’s a -4 not a -8 or have you done something already?

      • Grizzly13ear says:

Took a early transfer taking out robbo for Dias which might have been premature

Would you suggest I pick madds/Grealish before Son/Kane?

        Thanks

        • GentleBenAKA says:

Given who they play next, getting Son and/or Kane isn’t urgent this week.

        • inittowinit says:

Son is the obvious ‘premium’ replacement and you can’t argue with his points return, whether he’s worth a hit vs Liverpool however is a different matter.

        • OddDane says:

GentleBenAKA – I think you may have skipped a week ahead to the fearful Brighton lads – this week the Kane & Son Co. are playing Liverpool who haven’t won a single game and scored just 1 (reads: one) goal in their past five games played.

        • Kralin says:

As hopeless as Liverpool have been of late I doubt Spurs will go into that game all guns blazing – to do so will invite defeat and possibly help play Liverpool back into form.

In addition, it’s more Liverpool’s attack that’s been hopeless rather than their defence.

However for all that I wouldn’t be overly surprised if Spurs won the game.

hi chaps, too many to deal with after bbgw19
what is priority here? kdb? robbo? or wood?

    • 245.1
      Tornado says:

This is one very nice looking team IMO! Definitely KDB to whoever you want and you are good to go. Might want to tinker a bit more with the starting XI and bench order but that’s about it.

    • 245.2
      OddDane says:

KdB and Wood out for a premium striker (e.g. Kane) and a budget-mid priced midfielder.

But if you don’t have 2FTs this can wait, you have almost free choice of decent starters there.

I was all gungho on 3 MC player, but without KDB are they going to play as well? :scratch_one-s_head:

    • 246.1
      GentleBenAKA says:

I imagine the defensive solidity is still going to be there so one or two MC defs seems good. And one of Gundo/Foden is going to be in the goals.

      Kralin says:

I posted something to that effect above, concluding that I didn’t really want to wait to find out (given the fixture(s)). And given that neither Foden nor Gündoğan exactly break the bank (and help enable improvements elsewhere) then it doesn’t seem too high risk to me. Choosing which one is the biggest headache but again, as headaches go, this isn’t on migraine levels.

    • 246.4
      Smash says:

They will be worse without KDB but he’s not been getting all the points. It won’t inspect them defensively. Gundogan will be on more set pieces I’d expect. BSilva and Jesus will be the players that become more nailed I think as a result of the injury. BSilva will take the more creative role but might assist the assister. KDB does drop deep which might have an impact on Gundogan’s late runs into the box as BSilva might not do that. Jesus will come in up top. Foden I don’t see him affected tbh as he never plays central it seems he’s always out wide similar to Mahrez so he will still have competition for places with Torres, Mahrez and Sterling. We might see Cancelo start more as well as he slips into CM when City attack especially against the weaker sides.
