Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 2

None of that Friday night nonsense this week. Our game-week kicks off at lunchtime on Saturday with Cardiff hosting Newcastle, a game that has relegation 6 pointer written all over it. We then have four games at the traditional kick off time of 3pm. Everton entertain Southampton. It’s a battle of the animals at The King Power stadium as the Foxes host Wolves. It’s an all London affair with Spurs playing host to Fulham, while Bournemouth travel to West Ham. Saturday is brought to a conclusion with the game of the weekend when Chelsea host Arsenal at 5:30pm.

Sunday brings us another three games. Burnley host Watford in a game that is unlikely to cure any hangovers. Huddersfield will be hoping to improve on their opening day result but that’s unlikely as they entertain Manchester City. If you’re still hungover come 4pm you might as well switch off the TV as Brighton host Jose and his merry men.

Our game-week is brought to an end with the first Monday Night Football of the season and it has the potential to be a cracker as Liverpool travel to London to face Crystal Palace.

    What moves would people make?

    Thanks

    • That’s a very good team, set fair for the future.

I was just looking and Palace have a really good set of fixtures coming up.

So, while I have King myself, Zaha could be worth thinking about. More potent than Mitovic, whose fixtures aren’t too bad either. Other than that I don’t think you have a lot to worry about.

    • Tomkins to Schupp and/or King to Zaha/Arnie but to be honest your team is fine and would be happy to leave as is!

    • I think you just need to lose king. The rest of your team is very good. Maybe foster to a better pepper. But that’s not an issue. Arnie maybe

      • +1. I’d just do King to Zaha but wait on tomorrow’s game to do that.

    • PS would be tempted to put the captaincy on Salah for GW3.

It’s all been a bit fraught this week, captaincy-wise.

    • I have been looking at ditching King but I have been looking at ways of getting Alonso which I think would mean downgrading Firmino.

I don’t think we can afford 3 premium defenders. I will ditch King and roll a FT.

      Thanks

  2. On 59 points with Salah, Robertson, Zaha and Van Aanholt to come. Already did 2 transfers but I am thinking about bringing in Alonso for Robertson for a hit, hmm!

    • I’d wait to see what Robinson gets up to tomorrow. If he gets his cs and any sort of scoring return I’d leave him in.

What’s the rest of your team like?

      • Ideally yes but Alonso going up in price

      • Ederson Fabianski
        Robertson Coleman Daniels Peltier
        Salah Mahrez Richarlison Mkhi Cairney
        Aguero Zaha Ings.

Made 2 transfers. Have 0.5 in the bank. Transferred out King and Jota for Mkhi and Ings.

    • Maybe sit on that move until after the B&HA game, then have another think.

Alonso looks good but is not de rigueur.

    • Chris why are you sat on two transfers already before the week is even over? Have we taught you nothing!

      • Jota and King was going down in price and I have no money and I wanted Mkhi.

  3. Mendy has been involved in 50% of city goals over the 2 games. Has had a shot or 2 on target in both of the games as well. I know Alonso out scored him this week. But how they list the cs was shocking. If you ask me he’s the most have defender !

    • Yeah he’s looking dangerous. I have my eye on him

  4. Last time …promise!!
As many opinions as possible please cos I’m struggling with this and not long left!!
9 points ahead in my big cash ml so little bit of room to manoeuvre!!
    Gotta do tonight but thinking:
1-Firmino/Shaw to Arnie/Alonso: Shaw v Spurs next week/likely to get dropped next few weeks – Alonso next 4 nice and nailed + very attacking /Firmino v Brighton but get worse in gw5 while Arnie v Arsenal next but next 2 nice! Leaves £1m itb to do Pickford to DeGea or upgrade elsewhere next week!?
2-Firmino/Peltier to Arnie/Alonso: as above but will have someone £6.5+ sitting on bench each week, decent rotation option/benching headache no money left for Pickford to DDG etc!?
Lastly if I do 1 or 2 is it worth a -4 to swap Hudson-Odei before his price drops and stuck with him ….Westwood?!?
    Cheers

    • Lost me with the 6.5 sat on the bench in the second scenario, who’s that and where do they come in to the equation?

Do that last one for a -4 and I might well lose it Falling Down style 😉

      • Don’t go all Micheal Douglas on me …please!! Watched that other day and often worry It’s how I’ll end up!!
Yeah sorry Init probably getting too detailed but option 2 gives me 12/13 solid options so would end up sitting one on bench each week (ie Arnie/Bilva/Mkhi etc) instead of Peltier sitting there doing nothing! Option 1 gives me an (even stronger) solid 11 so no real benching decisions to make

        • Shaw probably loses his spot soon enough anyway so I’d have no qualms about losing him now.

        • Nice 1! Gonna push the button on option 1 then unless anyone wants to talk me out of it!?!

  5. Hi guys,

I want to transfer Eriksen out. Need thoughts on this (1FT, 0.5ITB)

    1. D.Silva
    2. Mahrez
    3. L.Moura
    4. Mikhi
    5. Others

    My current team;
    Ederson, Hamer
Robertson, Mendy, Luiz, Wan B, Peltier
    Salah, Eriksen, Richarlison, Neves, Stephens
    Aguero, Firmino, King

    Cheers

  6. Mkhitaryan and Firmino

    Or

    Mane and Wilson ?

    • The first. By a mile.

      • Thank you sir!
Was gonna pull the trigger now to shift Jota before his value drops

    • It would be funny if this were some sort of twisted personality test.

      Option a = a tendency to kleptomania.
      Option b = you are a melcryptovestimentaphiliac.

      • :oogle:

Slow down dude, I’m still on ‘trying to stop people doing transfers before the current week even ends’ laugh

        • I wish you all the best with that endeavour.

One day an over exuberant goal celebration will see 6 players stretchered off, to sombre applause, with all 6 facing season-ending injuries.

        • Brilliant, Sir. #tipshat
