Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 20

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 20. We hope that you are showing signs of life again after a few hectic days of festivities. GW19 came and went with haste and we’ve even had a day off to take stock and consider our transfers. It’s a lazy approach into GW20 too with a late 2pm deadline, the only downside being that it is on a Saturday so your pesky ML rivals may actually remember to check their teams this week.

Much like its predecessor this one is squeezed into two days and we begin with five 3pm games but outside of Spurs featuring, and perhaps Richarlison, and maybe the odd budget defender, there may be sporadic fantasy interest, certainly from any big hitters anyway. There should be more in the early evening game as Liverpool host Arsenal at 5.30pm.

Sunday sees Chelsea visit Palace for starters at 12pm, Burnley vs West Ham and Saints vs Man City provide the mains at 2.15pm before the dessert at 4.15pm in the shape of Man United vs Bournemouth.

The games in full…

Stick close to both our Fixture Tracker and our on-site Countdown Timer to keep track of when each GW begins in this hectic festive period, the one remaining deadline is as follows (all times are GMT) –

GW21 Tuesday 1st January 11.30AM

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 20 from all at FF247!

Thanks for reading Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 20.

Need Salah desperately. How about Alonso+Sterling to Salah+TAA?

      Kralin says:

Put yourself out of your misery, whatever it takes*. Though Alonso has Southampton at home next, a better tie than City away. However…

It’s a tricky one to advise on as Liverpool play City. Maybe kid yourself that Sterling won’t even start v Liverpool and just do it. I can’t imagine how horrifying it must currently be not to own Salah.

*though obviously wait until the GW is over before making any transfers.

      • constantine says:

No Pool assets is killing me Kralin. It’s impossible to comprehend how can I not have even a single player from a team scoring goals for fun and is top of the league. Better late than never. I’d anyways bench TAA for city. And it’s not for a hit though, have 2 FTs.

        • Kralin says:

I heard some heart-warming words from Anfield that the reason he didn’t take the second penalty was out of sympathy towards people not owning him in fantasy football. I swear this is true.

        • constantine says:

Good guy he is. There’d be more ghost teams if he had taken it, as many non-owners would have left the game out of frustration. smile

        • inittowinit says:

Not impossible constant, given as the only one worth owning, consistently, costs an arm and a leg and didn’t look worth it at all, going back a month or so. Console yourself that he is at least within reach once more and that you aren’t too proud to just do it. #Mito

        • constantine says:

Hey Initt. Funny Mito. I won’t be proud to get him back though, but would save myself the sofa space for every game he plays. I got him out for a hit after his hattrick for Sterling. Right now it’s 38 to 10(-4) with a game left to play. Hope Sterling closes that gap tomorrow against the Saints

        • constantine says:

I see that you’ve got him as well. That makes the reasons stronger now.

        • Rosco says:

Just imagine you took him out just hours before his hatrick!! Shudder to think where I’d be had I kept him but shit happens!

        • inittowinit says:

You’d be 20 or 30 points better off Rosco, it was just a hat-trick, you really need to let it go and move on!

For whatever reason his points seem to have some mysterious golden tinge which perceptibly causes them to quadruple or something, today’s goal and assist being exhibit A. Well, ok, B.

        • Rosco says:

Yada yada blah blah … you’re getting worse than Mito these days!

        • inittowinit says:

          Apologies for the reasilm?

        • Rosco says:

Actually your glib comment made me look into it. So, let’s assume I kept him but never gave him the armband (unlikely but just for arguments sake) so that would be 21,2,12,12 ( in the games I did not have him)! So that’s a basic 47 points. However, following a 21 point haul I probably would have captained him at least twice ( lets go with his 2 and one of his 12 point hauls so that takes us up to 60 points, add in the 8 points I took to remove him gives us 68 points. Then of course you have to factor In all the other moves I would have / would not have taken had I never removed him. So at a minimum on Salahs points alone I’d have been around 68 points better off. Weather keeping him would have lead to better decisions eksewhere is hypertherical, maybe it would have went well, maybe not.., we’ll never know.

Obviously I took your bait, but my point is there is nothing magical about his points In my head, and there is nothing wrong with pondering ‘what ifs’ surely?

        • inittowinit says:

No, you’re right. That was pretty stupid wasn’t it.

        • Rosco says:

No not at all, I know you were just winding me up! I know I’m an ‘emotional poster’ (and person in general!) but I was just trying to make someone else feel better in this instance! I have let it go thankfully… honest…

Seriously though, I’ll stop bleating on about it now I promise!

You get what you pay for Jamie, or so AT tells me…

Saw that result and thought of GP, I imagine he went the game, did you?

      • Jamie Mc says:

No init, had a season ticket for a good few years but gave it up pre financial mess.

        • inittowinit says:

          Good hindsight smile

Joking aside, do you miss going or not? I used to go to Goodison every game and don’t now but I don’t actually miss it.

        • Brookyboy says:

Funny that i actually miss not going to the John Smiths stadium… ! smile

        • Rosco says:

It’s hard when you actually go to matches, these days I rarely take any pleasure in going to the match but I’ve been doing it so long now I feel I should keep going as surely it has to get better one day. If I didn’t have such a good seat maybe I’d have taken a hiatus but I know one day I’d regret it and end up sitting ‘with the gods’ in a seat far too far from pitch level that my aging knees would not thank me for. Mike Ashley has to die at some point right?

        • Jamie Mc says:

          Not really init.

I think the problem for all football clubs is once fans stop attending and find something else to do then it is so difficult to get them back.

Playing fantasy football is my main hobby now.

          How sad is that!!!

        • Rosco says:

About as sad as the rest of us! If it weren’t for FF I’d probably not be sat here at 1am talking to a bunch of people I don’t even know ( and a few I do), as my old mum would say ‘it keeps us off the streets’

        • inittowinit says:

I stopped going because my Dad (who I went with to the games) moved to France but that also coincided with us having kids so it was easy not to go. That’s since coincided with extensive TV / social media coverage to the point that you can’t really miss a goal anywhere, even if you try. Add in to that ridiculous ticket prices and I don’t feel ashamed to say I’d rather stay at home.

    • 56.2

It was a perfect day Jamie. Six years we’ve been waiting for a victory over them. I had a big day yesterday in celebration hence my absence round here. Surprisingly fresh this morning but I was so exhausted I quit drinking at 9pm!

I go to all the home matches and maybe a dozen aways a year. But if something in family life clashes then I have plenty of friends who I can pass my ticket to. So long as someone is using my ticket and I’m financially supporting my club then I’m happy. Long gone are the days where I’d sulk if I missed one.

Regards Rangers, thank goodness for the winter break now. Our squad is completely shattered. Well earned R & R now plus a couple of new signings and we could have a right good go at the second half of the season.

Hope you all had a good points haul. I’m just catching up on MOTD hosted by the Mitchell brothers

    DMC says:

Ok, so I have a NoSalah-problem. I have 0.5 itb and 1 FT so a hit is needed to get him. I am prepared to sacrifice Auba and go 3-5-2 but that doesn’t work as after selling Hojberg I only have 2.9 for a forward…. I can do it for one of the other mids and play 3-4-3 but even then it being Fraser (4.3) or Rich (5.2) I wouldnt have enough money for a decent 3-4-3 forward. Son I bought two gws ago (for a hit) to get his points for 4 gws so still half way to sell him (and plays cardiff…). Haz, well, it could be him to make way, but to sell Auba and Haz for a hit in a gw where they play Fulham and Saitns while the Faroe goes to City has disaster written all over it. Which leads me back to sonny. Should I bag the 18 points he gave me and bite the bullet of any more to come in those two games he has left and do Auba+Son -»Salah+Jimenez
If I’m going to do this this GW, then it makes sense to go early and do it tonight given Salah’s raise and Auba’s fall (makes for a 0.2 deficit to see the gw out).

    Help! smile

      Brookyboy says:

You cant really sell Kane or Aubamayang with their fixtures.Hang on a week then reassess and possibly do it in 3 moves. All your players have decent points potential for next week.

      • DMC says:

Sensible arguments Brooky. I’m not sure Auba starts vs Fulham though. He looked awful today and missed a glorious sitter, so perhaps a game for Laca? Had you known Auba doenst star, would you do it now?

        • Rosco says:

This would swing things in your favour, however it would be purely speculative and we all know what Aubameyang can do from the bench!

        • SAFs_hairdryer says:

Arsenal looked poor all over the pitch not just Auba. Brooky’s Advice is sound. Leave it a week and look then

        • Kralin says:

One way perhaps, if you go down the Kane extraction channel, would be to look at a Spurs’ mid as well. However that may be easier said than done (Salah plus Alli, for example).

Aha, as you have Son to swap then maybe it becomes easier.

There are some good cheap strikers you can swap with Kane – or Auba, depending on which way you go.

        • Kunal says:

Auba will start. Went off around 60mins. Both Auba and Laca should startagainst Fulham

      • Rosco says:

I’d agree with Brooky. If you were to ignore fixtures then a 3 player move would facilitate the best outcome (Auba to Kamara and Hoj to Salah with maybe Robertson down to TAA or Robertson to make up the funds. However given that would be -8 and taking into consideration the fixtures it would probably be prudent to give it a week, till the FT and do it in GW22 regardless of prices changes.

      Smash says:

Looks good to save this week. Get Salah in for Son next week is the way to go. Auba and Kane have decent fixtures while Salah goes to City

    AllanBrallan says:

This season its just bad timing with my transfers, wrong players on the bench and bad captain picks every single gameweek. My players are doing ok, its just my bad choices all the time.

But I stopped myself from going -8 in order to get salah in. Right now I have Robertson on the bench and I guess there’s no reason for -8 then…

How would you play this team? The top scoring defender on the bench, is that just another of my bad choices?
