Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 20
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 20. Did you manage to complete our 4 TV games in a day challenge on Boxing Day? If you lived to tell the tale then well done and you can almost do it all over again today. Go on, we dare you…
It’s yet another GW spread over two days, only this time there are a few less crammed in on the first day as Saturday sees just 7 games beginning with Brighton and Bournemouth getting us started at lunchtime, followed by Newcastle v Everton, Southampton v Palace and Watford v Villa all at 3pm. There are then a couple of games in the 5.30pm slot with West Ham hosting Leicester and Spurs going to Norwich. Burnley and Man Utd see Saturday out in the evening fixture.
Sunday begins at 2pm with a London derby as Chelsea go to Arsenal, followed at 4.30pm with Wolves hosting Liverpool and the GW ends with Man City welcoming Sheffield United at 6pm.
Thankfully we all then get a bit of a breather as GW21 doesn’t begin until Wednesday.
The games in full…

So many transfers in my WC team in the last hour.
Would’ve liked to fit Jiminez but would’ve needed a loan haha.
Hopefully Spurs don’t Spurs noww
Good luck everyone
Nice team. Well balanced.
One of the better WC teams I have seen. Good luck.
cheers guyss
All the best guys. Here’s my team. Hope Salah gets a brace.
I capped him and my last cappo choices all went south. So don’t get your hopes up. Hehe. :hippo:
He was taken out at 70 mins. Surely he’ll start and score. “Hope is a dangerous thing” :good:
Hmm, feels like I have been hunting for both Mane and Salah a little too hard on my wc team. Uncertain if the balance is right now. It always was… for the first time this season I now have my doubts. Also uncertainties in my team like Hanley and Holgate… don’t make it better. Bit anxious. Hehe. 😉
Also not going with any Spurs feels a little off……… somehow there is more life in them since Mou took over. That silly Portugese guy. ^^ Anyways, hope I’ll be entering the top 100k again this gameweek. If not. I have failed. Harharhar.
Looks great, the week Liverpool go on a goals rampage, you’ll be unstoppable hahaha
Regardless, it doesn’t matter. It’s all good fun. You never play for the number one spot. I guess this is a just a game for the mind. See if you can make the right decisions at the right time. Of course, also a lot of luck. I like how I took a 1 week punt on Sterling last gameweek and him scoring a brace… (could’ve had a hatty, mind you).
By the way Kunal. I’m really uncomfortable not owning any Spurs players. They can do you so good but also so bad. As a GUnner, doesn’t it feel strange doubling up on your nemesis? :laugh2:
Looks good raz. Like Mane + Salah.
Same hopes.
Good luck everyone!
Thanks :wink2:
You too Cookster old mate.
And good luck to all of you – I hope the Brighton game hasn’t started yet! Keep smiling and bye for now!
AJW.
Hi all. Like many I played my WC this GW.
I never normally play it this late but never found a good time earlier in the season to play.
What I found was there were various players who I had a lot of team value in you such as Vardy and Lundstram who I can’t take them out and get them back in again as I won’t be able to afford them. So this limited how many players I could change.
Also I missed many of the bandwagons such as Maddison and Mane and they were now out of my price range.
On the positives I can set my team up for the chips in the double game weeks with a bit more knowledge and respond to changes in managers.
In hindsight when do you think was the best time to WC this season?
You play your WC when your team looks shit.
Thinks that’s about it. Those of us playing WC at this stage, just cause we have to burn it, we probably can ride out without it, so we all just ended up giving minor touch ups to our teams.
There’s no best time.
Hi Horse, it’s a good question. There’s probably no definitive answer but all you can do is look at your own and gauge against past experiences. In my case I usually hold out as long as possible but conversely I’m usually notoriously badly ranked in the first half of the season and have to play a mammoth second half to catch up and finish with something semi respectable in terms of rank. This season I decided to go early with it and having looked now it seems to have paid off because when I played it in GW3 I was sub 1.5m and I knocked a mil off that almost immediately and then another good few hundred k’s not long after. I’m not tearing any trees up but I’m almost certainly in a much better place now than I usually am at this time of the season. So, for me, that strategy seems to have worked out much better this time.
Depends on your team really so there’s no definitive answer, if your GW1 was very bad then I guess it would have been a good time to WC rather soon, and so on and so forth… I WCed at the worst time I could have last GW as I had TAA from GW1 and sold him right before his monster haul (safe to say his best haul of the season), but that was bad luck I guess (hope)
