Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 21
Relentlessly this season’s FPL schedule hurtles us straight into GW21 with Everton v Newcastle at Goodison on Saturday lunchtime – just 28 and a half hours after Liverpool dusted off Spurs to round out GW20.
Following on Saturday we have three games kicking off simultaneously in what is becoming a bit of a throwback to days when FPL was ‘normal’. At 3pm we have the Blades of Sheffield United looking to slice open the other half of Manchester as they travel to the Etihad to face City and try to secure the Manc’ double and haul themselves closer to safety.
It’s The Eagles v The Wolves at Selhurst Park and West Bromwich Albion v Fulham in a game which will be shown live on the BBC – talk about slim pickings!
Arsenal v United is the teatime offering and then it’s to the south coast, for Southampton v Aston Villa which rounds off the Saturday entertainment.
Sunday sees Chelsea v Burnley at twelve as Tuchel faces Sean Dyche for the first time (someone should warn him he’s not the pitchside security) then Leicester v Leeds follows at 2pm.
To round off the weekend, Thursday’s gladiators make their appearance as Liverpool head to the London Stadium to challenge Top Four rivals West Ham (yep) and Spurs head to the Amex for an appointment, minus Harry Kane (probably), with the Seagulls of Brighton.
The games in full…

What an horrendously dull day of football that was! Didn’t even have a Pickford howler to laugh at.
I’m beginning to wonder whether we are simply asking too much of the players with this schedule. We often see this at Christmas when the last game or two is just a stretch too far.
Quite pointed today that Pep allowed 10 of his 11 to go to the end, knowing full well he has at least 7 who can now come in on Wednesday completely fresh and be more than just as capable. Few others have that luxury, Burnley certainly don’t.
I think we are (asking too much) and I’m sure the injuries, already piling up, will get more numerous.
There are 5 GW in February, which seems beyond the normal rules of time.
Yeah possibly. The quality of some teams this weekend has been really lacking. City did not even get out of first gear
Thank you Martinez for 10 pts. So scarce today. 31 from 6.
Same here. 31 from 6.
Don’t think we can complain on a day like today.
Nah. Could have been worse.
37 from 6 for me, haven’t had Captain play yet
31 from 6 is pretty good on a an average week, this week it’s probably quite good. That’s 5.2pts per player, can’t be all bad.
46 from 5 for me (assuming BPs remain as they currently are). Very happy with that 🙂
Crumbs, did you TC Wilson or something? Remarkable stuff Chips.
No captain still to play. I was lucky all 5 players returned something and 4 of the 5 got BPs
Great stuff. Upwards and onwards (hopefully). Should be a hefty green arrow if today’s form carries into tomorrow.
Suppose captain grealish could have gone worse. Wish I had captained Salah now though
Why I’d be happy with that. Better than Bruno, Gundogan and Sterling. Salah don’t even have the easiest of games
Agree. We don’t even know if he starts yet.
Moyes has an utterly terrible record against Liverpool but I suppose with superdude Soucek, anything is possible. In theory it could be quite a fun game, goals galore.
Moyes isn’t in the starting eleven. These managers head to head things are a bit of a nonsense
I don’t think a Moyes managed side has ever won against Liverpool*. It’s a saga spanning generations. Not so much a head to head, more a head-fuck.
Hopefully he’ll go for it tomorrow, especially with the Liverpool defence in a spot of bother. A nice open game.
* since 2010
A ray of light. 10 points for Martinez and a CS for Konsa
Effectively 22 from 6, captain Son is going to have to have a blinder!
Can’t believe my season. Thanks all for the help
Meant to add this
Absolutely awesome Mr M!!!
Excellent work!
‘Moderately template’ eh. Does the word ‘über-template’ appear or ‘you’re taking the piss that’s not template at all’.
Anyhow if you’re 32 points inside the top 10 you should be home and dry.
