Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 21

Relentlessly this season’s FPL schedule hurtles us straight into GW21 with Everton v Newcastle at Goodison on Saturday lunchtime – just 28 and a half hours after Liverpool dusted off Spurs to round out GW20.

Following on Saturday we have three games kicking off simultaneously in what is becoming a bit of a throwback to days when FPL was ‘normal’. At 3pm we have the Blades of Sheffield United looking to slice open the other half of Manchester as they travel to the Etihad to face City and try to secure the Manc’ double and haul themselves closer to safety.

It’s The Eagles v The Wolves at Selhurst Park and West Bromwich Albion v Fulham in a game which will be shown live on the BBC – talk about slim pickings!

Arsenal v United is the teatime offering and then it’s to the south coast, for Southampton v Aston Villa which rounds off the Saturday entertainment.

Sunday sees Chelsea v Burnley at twelve as Tuchel faces Sean Dyche for the first time (someone should warn him he’s not the pitchside security) then Leicester v Leeds follows at 2pm.

To round off the weekend, Thursday’s gladiators make their appearance as Liverpool head to the London Stadium to challenge Top Four rivals West Ham (yep) and Spurs head to the Amex for an appointment, minus Harry Kane (probably), with the Seagulls of Brighton.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Saw this on Twitter. This is a wilcard as well. On paper it’s a pretty good team, just really bad luck.

    Hey all,

Currently have this with 4.4 itb.

I’m thinking either grealish, zaha, barnes or maddison in for either ESR or soucek.

Or should I change one of the defence to someone less likely to be rotated?

    Cheers

Grealish is currently top of my wanted list (in terms of a midfielder).

Rotation is a fact of life so make sure your bench is all right.

In your shoes I’d grab another City defender.

Think the priority has to be in defence. Chilwell has likely lost his place and will probably only play with rotation. Not sure if Dier will play next game, but it’s a tough fixture anyway. Then other defenders on bench have really tough fixtures. I’m pretty confident Stones will play next game.

      Your front 7 looks good.

I had an absolute shocker this week but not much I can do about it. Brilliant team on paper but way too many things went tits up…
Well done to the ones who did well and chin up to the rest!
    Onto the next one :big_boss:

benching the luxury chiwell feels bad
can someone also solve my bench headache?
1.8 itb, 1 transfer, want to do foden to barnes?

I think I’d focus on putting the injury fires out first: like Mane. Didn’t know Bamford had come a cropper.

You can get to Barnes via Mane if you’re relaxed about the double Leicester midfield, which presumably you are.

(Barnes, where property is not cheap, also has a railway station if you want to get to it another way.)

Are you sure you want double Leicester midfield? They’ve been scoring fairly well, but Fulham are no pushovers anymore. Bamford said he was fine so should play next game. Foden’s minutes are up and down and you should monitor Mane.

Hey all, had a pretty average week with 53 points. For next GW I’ve 5.7 in the bank and 1FT. I’m thinking of getting Holding for Taylor. Do we know how long is KWP out for? Any suggestions on my team and transfers?

      leeboy104 says:

Couldn’t find a return date for KWP. Unless you’re going to start Holding, I’d probably roll the FT. However, there is the risk of needing a sub to come in if someone is injured or rotated (obviously you have Biss, but he’s probably only good for 2 points). Bamford said himself it was a dead leg and that he should be fine.

So it’s up to you really: the benefit of 2FT vs the risk of needing a sub. Don’t see any pressing issues otherwise.

If you have not used your WC yet, it makes sense to be aggressive. Take out KWP for a nailed defender with decent fixture like Maguire. Also helps with Bench depth in case you need it.
