Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 21

Relentlessly this season’s FPL schedule hurtles us straight into GW21 with Everton v Newcastle at Goodison on Saturday lunchtime – just 28 and a half hours after Liverpool dusted off Spurs to round out GW20.

Following on Saturday we have three games kicking off simultaneously in what is becoming a bit of a throwback to days when FPL was ‘normal’. At 3pm we have the Blades of Sheffield United looking to slice open the other half of Manchester as they travel to the Etihad to face City and try to secure the Manc’ double and haul themselves closer to safety.

It’s The Eagles v The Wolves at Selhurst Park and West Bromwich Albion v Fulham in a game which will be shown live on the BBC – talk about slim pickings!

Arsenal v United is the teatime offering and then it’s to the south coast, for Southampton v Aston Villa which rounds off the Saturday entertainment.

Sunday sees Chelsea v Burnley at twelve as Tuchel faces Sean Dyche for the first time (someone should warn him he’s not the pitchside security) then Leicester v Leeds follows at 2pm.

To round off the weekend, Thursday’s gladiators make their appearance as Liverpool head to the London Stadium to challenge Top Four rivals West Ham (yep) and Spurs head to the Amex for an appointment, minus Harry Kane (probably), with the Seagulls of Brighton.

  1. Somewhat relieved Pep was considerate not to bring Sterling(C) on for a 1 pointer! Get to live for another day with VC on Salah. Hopefully he plays though

  2. This is one of those days when you just want to remove your team and forget it :no:

    • So far so HORRIBLE for me but still time for pleasant (or more unpleasant) surprises!

      I sometimes look at a random team in my ML and start debating with myself whether I know what I am doing. 3 of my main rivals have Dias (C). And here I am with Stones, Cancelo, Mitchell and most likely Kane not showing up. On top of that I made a last sec decision to stuck the armband on Gundo, and of course – blank.

      If MUFC don’t win, I am attacking a random scotch bottle from my minibar and drawling my sorrows!

      • Attack several bottles then go into the kitchen and trash your kettle.

  3. What’s up with Stones? I imagine that Dias is the MCI defender to have & wasted a FT on Stones.

    • Just rotation. Was always going to happen at some point

    • Guess it’s time to change my grav. The holidays are over, but not covid. My wife is in the ER, not because of covid especially but as a result the vaccine shot she received a week ago. Isn’t science great? It resulted in a breathing problem and that’s due ti her COPD, they say. Time will tell. The second shot in this routine is supposed to be worst.

  5. Top midfielders by form. Not sure how long it will last, but plenty of bargains out there.

    • I was tempted by Pereira all week but went for grealish

    • One gets a sense that the stage is being set for a Soucek masterclass this GW.

  6. Saints v Villa

    • Now Adams benched. Mitchell, Cancelo, Stones no show. Bruno blanked. Cappo Gundo blanked. Kane most likely won’t play.
      All that hard work for the last month or two, screwed up completely in the space of 1 GW!
      That game can be extremely cruel!

      • Bad luck Tornado. The only consolation is that most of the players you’ve named there are quite highly owned, so chances are your rivals will be having an equally tough time this week.

      • It’s going to be a very low-scoring GW Tornado – for me, anyway – so I wouldn’t get too fretful. And still a bit of action tomorrow.
